About this house rental
Our 18th-century Cape-style house has been tastefully renovated with beautiful bathrooms, a Swedish soaking tub, and an updated kitchen. Throw the French doors open and let the fresh Maine air into your room! At night, close the blackout curtains and snuggle up by the fire with a good book, or watch your favorite movie. The living room is my favorite feature with its exposed, hand-hewn, mortise and tenon beams (think old British pub-style ceiling) that invite all things cozy, especially in front of the gas fireplace!
Situated on a quiet road three houses away from Pemaquid Harbor, the yard offers a wildflower meadow lined with apple trees and beautiful walks with gorgeous harbor views within steps of the house. The nearby villages have shops, ice cream windows, the lighthouse that appears on the Maine quarter, and a charming grocery store with everything you could want! If you feel the need to go big, we are 20 minutes south of Damariscotta, with its charming Main Street, three large grocery stores, a movie theater, and numerous restaurants, cafes, and pubs. Pemaquid Beach is a quick 15-minute drive, as is Fort William Henry and Colonial Pemaquid. With so much activity in the area, it's the perfect place to "get away" while also staying close to *some* action, if you decide you want it.
