We ended our first trip to Costa Rica, in Uvita, at Nature's Edge. We travelled the Pacific Coast, but it wasn't until we got to Uvita that we experienced the true jungle. Nature's Edge is tucked away about 2 miles up a steep road (you truly do need a 4x4 to access it, but we had a little AWD Suzuki, that we put in manual mode, and that did the trick just fine). Once you turn into the property you pass the first two casita's on your left, and if you're lucky, you booked one of the lower casitas (Aracari and Heliconia), which brings you to the breathtaking views.
We stayed at Aracari (named after a small toucan - we saw the Fiery billed) and the views and sounds of the jungle were incredible. We woke each morning to a view of the mountains, sounds of Howler monkey's, Yellow Fronted toucans, and various other birds and insects; it's like, "Alexa, play sounds of the jungle" in real life.
Joe & Keith leave you wanting for nothing. The casitas are well equipped. Although there isn't a full kitchen, there is a shared kitchen by the salt water pool, and the casitas have everything you need to prepare a meal, as well as a dorm-sized fridge. Keith & Joe also offer their spices, herbs from their garden, oils, pots/pans, and cooking utensils for guests to use. This is also where you'll have a delicious, home-made by Joe, breakfast each morning. The casita's balcony serves as an outdoor living room with a hammock and two rocking chairs. We spent most of our time out here marveling at

This place is a quiet retreat close to Uvita and the sea. Only 4 casitas, very well equipped, just beautiful. The hosts have thought of everything to the smallest detail. Everything works, is in great condition and very clean. The king bed is so comfortable and they have high quality linen. Amazing view! We would go back even just to relax on the terrace and enjoy the views and the birds. A 4x4 is really needed but it's worth it to go uphill. It's not as hot as in town. Joe cooks a wonderful breakfast every morning. Natures Edge is a great base for exploring the area. You can easily stay 5 nights or longer without being bored. The only thing you won't like is when you have to leave. Price-performance ratio is fantastic. Look at other places in the area and you know what we are talking about. Keith and Joe are the nicest hosts you can imagine. Their communication is like nothing we experienced before. They help with everything even before you stay with them. They respect your privacy and are happy to share local recommendations. We liked that there was no TV. The cabins are partially open (with mosquito screens) but there is no noise by other guests. (The host ask for quiet hours.) We really appreciated that and loved listening to the birds. We would love to return more sooner than later and visit again. The other good thing - N.Edge is not far from the best restaurant in Uvita - TRIBU. They have the best food here, it's fine dining for a good price. Just try-you will love it!

Simply amazing from start to end . I can not sing the praises of this place enough - a touch of heaven- the views are to die for. Lots of wildlife to see on your doorstep and the welcome from joe and Keith unmeasurable. We had a nightmare with our car rental which was supposedly a 4x4 but clearly not. When Keith says make sure you have this he’s not joking - you can not !!! Get there without one , but my god was it worth it - joe and Keith were so kind to help us and go the extra mile , which we are so grateful- their hospitality and recommendations spot on ! Thank you 😊😊😊

The views are spectacular. The hosts are awesome and really go out of their way to give you a home away from home. 4x4 definitely needed, but well worth it when you arrive on property. Just stunning!!

We loved every minute of our stay at Natures Edge. Keith and Joe made us feel extremely welcome. They cooked us an amazing breakfast every morning which we enjoyed by the pool. The accommodation was perfect and we had amazing views of the jungle and sea from our room. The pool area is stunning with breathtaking views. As there are only 4 casitas, it was always very peaceful. This was our favourite place to stay on our 2 week trip and we can’t recommend it enough.

Had the most wonderful stay here this week. The area is just breathtaking, and my villa was the most comfortable out of the 12 hotels I’ve stayed at while being in Costa Rica.
I loved..
- Beautiful designed, private villa with comfortable bed, gorgeous bedding, high pressure shower, lovely decor, private balcony with hammock and lots of little special touches throughout the room
- Stunning jungle views. Toucans right outside your balcony
- Insta worthy pool with a view to die for
- Yummy breakky every morning with the most amazing view
- Only 4 villas in the hotel which made my stay very peaceful
- Loved meeting the friendly owners Keith & Joe (and their pup Louie). They made sure I had everything I needed and made my stay extra special
I cannot recommend this place enough!

We absolutely LOVED our stay. From the little to the big, everything had been thought about. The room was clean and comfy with an amazing view, and although it was easy to order up food we really enjoyed cooking with the other guests (and hosts!) and sharing travel stories. Keith and Joe couldn’t have been more helpful or lovely. Our only issue was that we didn’t book for longer, we will be coming back and staying for as long as possible next time!

Excellent individual cassitas to stay in facing mountains and the jungle. Woke up to birdsongs and holler monkeys sharing the sunrise with us. Fantastic hosts and amenities!

What a gem! A warm and friendly reception from our hosts, delicious breakfasts and simply amazing views from the cabina (Heliconia). The cabina and Pineapple Lounge were well appointed, clean and fresh - Michelle and Fabiana have done an amazing job in creating Nature's Edge - a wonderful retreat!
The under cover cooking and dining area was great - if only we had the climate to do similar back in England.
You will need a 4x4 to get up the track to Nature's Edge (or a CG125 motorbike with knobbly tyres if you;re a local, it seems). The drive up and down is absolutely fine; yes, it's steep in places, but take it steady and you'll have no problems at all.
Best moment - watching a coati sitting in the tree to the right of our cabina and loads of fiery-billed aracari toing and froing close to the cabina.
What we didn't like? Leaving!

We were passing through Uvita and only stayed here one night but we wish we could have stayed at Nature's Edge longer! We have stayed at many places in the area and this is one of THE BEST we have stayed in. The sounds of the frogs and bugs at night, but sounds of birds and monkeys in the morning really helps you experience the jungle in an amazing yet very comfortable way. There is an amazing view from the time you wake up. Be sure to have 4 wheel drive to get there and make it there before dark, (but it is like that for most places in the area). Once you are there you will love it! (food was fresh and delish, hosts were great!)

First of all you will enjoy the stunning view everywhere on their property!
The Edge Cabinas are super clean and luxuriously equipped with a kitchen for light cooking (large meals in the pineapple lounge, so the cabinas will stay clean and fresh), a bathroom with a great view, a separate toilet and of course a Kingsize bed (very comfy!) and a balcony (with hammock) with a stunning view tree top / mountain view.
In the pineapple lounge you will find the breakfast, which is delicious and freshly home made by them. (very extensive and you won’t be hungry anymore during the day)
You will also find a lovely pool with of course another great jungle and sea view.
There is also a good working WiFi connection, which you can use on their whole property.
The way up to their property is steep, so make sure you rent a 4x4. We made it with a Daihatsu SUV (most of the people call it a LEGO car haha), but you won’t make it with this type of car during the rain season.
The first time up might be a little exciting, but you will get used to it and IT IS ALL WORTH IT, I promise!
And I saved the best for last: Fabiana & Michelle. These ladies are doing a great job. They’re super hospitable, kind, social, helpful and they provide an outstanding service to their guests. Don’t hesitate to ask them for help or tips and things to do around Uvita, cause they will help you for sure!
They also have 5 super sweet dogs (they do not bother you. They’re just hanging around and being sweet).

An amazing drive up the mountain (you'll need 4 wheel drive) yielded beautiful cabinas in a pristine location. The cabinas are modern and comfortable and allow you to see and hear wildlife from above. Michelle went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with friendly conversation and breakfast with a smile. Right down the mountain are some of the great Uvita restaurants and shops for whatever you may need. We look forward to visiting again!

The owners just opened up these awesome Cabinas and I have to say after 6 weeks of Central America traveling they were the nicest and most relaxing mountain top view accommodations I had. Very well thought out cabinas with privacy, really comfy beds, incredible views, and a delicious breakfast. I had a howler monkey outside my place at 5:30 am to help with my set alarm clock to go surf early session. What an awesome way to wake up. Be sure to rent a 4x4 to get here. It’s at the top, and a ways up the hill, but that’s where the views are the best. Compared to other options in Uvita, I think the price is right for the quality of the room and the accommodations. Bring cash too, as they are not set up for credit cards yet because of how new they are. Did I mention how awesome the included breakfast was? Fresh fruit, egg Sammy, and some organic baked goods.
