Fall in love with Inverness, Point Reyes, its National Seashore, coastal Northern California and Napa and Sonoma wine country to enjoy the magic it has to offer. Make your holiday one for the books with a stay at our place. Full heating with a fireplace in the living room, radiant floor heat in the kitchen and both bathrooms, and baseboard heat in the master suite. Built in 1919 with old-growth redwood framing of 2" x 12" beams, it has been completely renovated top to bottom, inside and out (except exterior siding), by the prior owner, a master craftsman and stonemason. He installed custom cabinets, custom range hood, stone counters, fireplace, and stone and wood floors. All new double pane windows and doors throughout. Come fall in love with Inverness, Point Reyes, and Northern California's coast and wine country.
The two-story home is sunny, bright and airy, with many windows that open -- all with screens -- in each room, plus several skylights. Each room has a minimum of windows from two separate sides, spilling ample light throughout. It has a gas log fireplace that looks and feels like a wood burning fireplace. It is extremely quiet even though it has a fan, and heats the home quickly.
The home is on a quiet and wooded dead-end lane with only 9 houses above it -- extremely quiet. Virtually no traffic. There is an orchard with an apple tree (Pettingill variety), three plum trees (dapple dandy, flavor queen, pluot, and Santa Rosa varieties), pineapple guava, an aprunia tree (cross between apricot and plum), Meyer lemon tree, fig tree, avocado tree. There are also berry bushes: boysenberry, black currant, blueberry, and blackberry. Many different herb plants line the stone steps up to the patio for the home chef. The huge outdoor patio has two grills: one gas Weber, one wood Green Egg, plus a large outdoor counter, outdoor dining table with 8 chairs and 2 chaise lounges. A great house for entertaining, and just relaxing. Enjoy your new paradise!
Air is conditioned by the proximity to the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay, no mechanical air conditioning needed, even on the hottest days. Perfect for writers, artists, retired professors and professionals, outdoor enthusiasts including any water activities. Wonderful for multi-lingual enjoyers of culture--art, performance, museums, history, and cuisine. In the dozen charming coastal villages of West Marin you will find restaurants and cafes, award-winning bakeries, wineries, breweries, distilleries, even a meadery. Enjoy local seafood and shellfish, especially Tomales Bay oysters and Dungeness crab, local dairies with craft cheeses, etc. etc.
It is mere minutes from the Point Reyes National Seashore, Tomales Bay with its swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating and numerous oyster beds and seafood restaurants. Yet the main road, Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, is only 250 yards away, and at its corner is a gourmet grocery store and deli, with a very small pub attached for villagers and visitors alike.
