Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Wir haben uns extrem wohlgefühlt! Das Frühstück ist sehr lecke, die Zimmer sauber und komfortabel. Eines der Highlights ist der Pool den man nutzen darf. Wir kommen wieder!

Lovely

The room is very clean, there was a nice pool but most of all was the family super friendly and arranged everything for us! They even did our laundry. We felt very welcome and would recommend this place to everyone.

Exceptional

I loved my my stay at Peacock Homestay. After a few hit & miss experiences, this was a lovely surprise. I had a spacious modern bedroom, with comfy bed, mini fridge, fan, air con, a spacious bathroom with an excellent shower plus a large balcony. There is also a beautiful huge pool out back if you have time for a dip. I was too busy. The family are super friendly and will assist with any request. The breakfast was very tasty & generous. I honestly could not fault my stay and the beautiful hospitality I received. One annoyance was the mosquitos which unfortunately comes with Sri Lanka it would seem! I asked another property if they spray and apparently there is an export ban on pesticides.

The homestay is also surrounded by beautiful gardens, adding to its serene and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms at Peachock Homestay are impeccably clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. The beds are comfortable, the air conditioning works perfectly the homestay provides all the necessary amenities towels, and hairdryers, so you don't have to worry about bringing your own. Finally, the excellent pool at Peachock Homestay is the perfect way to cool off after a day of exploring Sigiriya's many attractions. The pool area is spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas for guests to relax in. Overall, I cannot recommend Peachock Homestay highly enough. Good place to stay for a night when you're looking for an AC place to crash at.

Clean, well smelling rooms. Having an AC was great. The hosts are friendly; offered us to use their tuktuk although we had our own.

Breakfast was quite basic. Only white bread and lots of deep fried stuff. No options to choose from.

Ok for the price

The family is very nice and caring. Breakfast was very tasty. The pool that belongs to the Water Villa next door is refreshing and clean. Nice view from the terrace

The room is a bit unpractical. There is nowhere to hang any clothes. A big table with a mini fridge takes up a lot of space. There were no mosquito nets!!!

Most beautiful and relaxing place

This place is just wonderful, the family is great and so nice, the lady welcomed me with a coconut and a helapa (it's a Sri Lankan sweet) the room is very spacious and very clean! Big breakfast which is local and so good !! From the big garden, where the pool is (which is beautiful) you can also see a lake. You are surrounded by lots of different birds, monkeys in the trees, otters, a cow was part of the scenery too! For the lucky ones (early risers or late sleepers) wild elephants pass through this garden (there was fresh elephant poo one morning haha) When the night falls the Fireflies offer us a splendid dance ball... it was like a dream! Thank you very much, besides having an unbeatable quality-price ratio this place is magical! I recommend it to you 1000%

Watch out - wrong Informations

The home cooked food was one of the best we had in the country. Owners really tried to make us conformable.

They lied about 80% they have on their booking page. No pool, no spa...

Great place and excellent value.

We stayed for 2 nights in February 2022. Newly completed rooms clean and well managed with friendly welcoming hosts. Access to a modern clean outdoor swimming pool was brilliant after a morning climbing Sigiriya Rock. Close to bus stop and small shops nearby. Room was modern with good AC and bathroom. Well placed for the prime tourist locations. We walked back from Sigiriya Rock. Took around 60 minutes.

This is a lovely quiet place to stay and we loved it but if you are looking for the centre of Sigiriya with more touristy Cafes etc then you will need to take a tuk-tuk in the evening.

Best value for money

The best value for money we experienced in Sri Lanka. The biggest plus of this place is the pool in the garden. The room itself (although quite small) was nice and clean, working AC, big bathroom. Nice seating area on the terrace outside of the room. Location is great for trips to Sigiriya and Dambulla. Homeowners can arrange tuktuk for you.

No possibility to get dinner at the homestay and not so many places to eat around. Peacocks in the garden are quite loud in the morning, so get earplugs for uninterrupted sleep. :-)

Exceptional

This is a real guest house/home stay. They have only 2 rooms and we booked both of them so we have a very private experience. Rooms were great, AC, hot water. We ordered dinner every night. My brother and sister in law can't eat anything with peppers. We asked the host to cook vegetarian food with this restriction and she did great. All the dishes were seasoned nicely (she just skipped chilli peppers). While I missed hot food (me and my girlfriend do not mid any spices) it was still excellent. I almost did not miss meat and she brought some fish just for us two! Dinners were priced reasonably but do order them in advance. The only thing she can cook without notice is fried rice (which was also good). The breakfast is also excellent. We even brought some wood apples and asked for a traditional drink (wood apples + coconut milk) and she made for us without extra charge. The place is also in quite dark place so you may enjoy some stars and you would definitely see a lot of fireflies

Perfect Sigiria stay!!!

Amazing host, so friendly and an amazing chef as well! Her kids are also very nice. The pool is from the adjacent resort which if I understand correctly is from her brother. It is a very pretty pool and only 30 meter from the house. The room and the whole house s Is very clean, the bathroom is big and it has nice high ceilings. Couldn't think of a better stay in Sigiria

Great place to stay with lovely hosts

We had a fantastic time at the Peacock homestay. The family running the place is super lovely! The surrounding and pool area is just awesome. Breakfast and dinner was super delicious.

Home far away from home

Simply everything!

We were warmly welcomed by the family upon arrival. The entire property is very clean. Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. We ordered srilankan Rice n Curry for Dinner and got delicious homemade food served. We enjoyed our stay very much and will come back for sure! Absolutely recommendable!

Beautiful Homestay in Kimbissa

We enjoyed everything about the homestay. The family and hosts were friendly, kind and so helpful. They helped us arrange transportation, they organised laundry for us and also made us the most incredibly delicious breakfasts and dinners. We opted to stay in for dinner twice because the food was so good. All lovingly prepared and handmade, even with fruit from the garden in the Ambarella curry! This was some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka. The room was comfortable, clean, private and with excellent air conditioning, a fan and hairdryer provided. The bathroom had the BEST shower we’ve had an Sri Lanka - just excellent after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. There’s a shared and very well maintained pool available which was a lovely respite from the heat. We saw iguanas and wild peacocks roaming around. Location wise we liked the walk during the daytime to Sigiriya from Kimbissa (30 mins). Otherwise the family have Tuk Tuk drivers available and cars also to get to Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya etc. Don’t walk too far at night though - wild elephants and other animals roam around.
