The staff, the room, the location
The repeat breakfast

Room spacious and beds comfortable. Hotel is a "classic" from 1928 at a downtown location. Breakfast is the Pub just off the lobby. Good breakfast. Elevator is slow but quaint. Works well . Hotel was good value.
The location area. A bit seedy. needs some attention.

Pas grand chose
Viel hôtel qui manque d’amour. Chambres défraîchies et lit inconfortable. Oreillers trop gros. Vieux bain tout égratigné.

Breakfast was fine.
Parking was not available.

Breakfast included. Room was comfortable but cold.
Disposable cups provided in room. Hotel is old but some interesting features. Kettle did not work. Took some effort to get replacement. Coffee provided in room but no tea.

Breakfast was adequate, location was good for what we needed, parking is terrible, noise at night from the intersection right outside, the on site pub was a bonus and food was good there.
Parking, very limited and with small slots, hard to get in and out. The elevator and the whole building is antiquated, was quicker to walk to the third floor than wait for elevator, plus only big enough for two people with luggage, or 4 with out.

I liked the historical aspect of the building, and the breakfast included was nice.
The rooms were disgustingly dirty. None of the mirrors were ever wiped down, the bathrooms were very dirty and there was pubic hairs in between the plastic cups that were stacked in the bathroom. The floor was never swept properly, or at all behind or around the beds. There were only 2 towels total in the family King Suite room for 4. There was 1 pair of slippers, but 2 bath robes. Not a huge deal, but a sign of management not doing proper quality control and training of the staff.
Outside of the room in the hall the housekeeping closet didn't even have a closing door so anyone could access it, and was left wide open. The maintenance room where all of the Internet and electrical stuff is, etc's door was wide open where any kid or anyone could go cause trouble, or get hurt.
When I mentioned the room's condition to the staff at checkout, she then told me they had several complaints, and couldn't even offer a discount, but told me that they would tell housekeeping. I'm very disappointed in the management, and staff of this wonderful historical hotel.

Location
It was very disappointing. The room I booked based on the photos was very spacious, but what I got was a much smaller, cramped space. When I asked about it, the staff simply said the advertised rooms were sold out, offering no compensation. Avoid this hotel if you value honesty and accurate representation.

Location
Room I was given was by the elevator and noisy

The location is in a very shady part of the city, which was unknown to me. Within 2 minutes of parking there was already someone looking in the box of my truck. Luckily I went and checked on my vehicle late at night, and foiled my truck from being stolen. There were multiple lookouts waiving flashlights, they attempted to box me in, in the parking lot. Was forced to engage 4x4 ramp backwards over a parking barrier and move my truck to a safe location.

Informed that facility was newly renovated, and has a central location.
No secure parking, and bar/nightclub used all of the hotel parking in evening I arrived.
Very busy location with lots of bar/nightclub patrons, and numerous homeless people mixing with everyone. Very noisy, even in reception area.
It was not possible to leave my vehicle on the street: pickup and boat trailer without having it scavenged.
Cancelled reservation I had made online 45 minutes earlier, then called and emailed daily until finally able to have deposit and hotel charges reversed.

Worst service ever: After a dreadful night almost without sleep the hotel informed me via booking.com, that the complete payment would be refunded. Several months, mails (to booking.com and to the hotel) and calls (with booking.com) later, the money still has not arrived. Unbelievable! What had happened: During my stay there was a power outage that lasted from late evening until the following morning, so that my daughter and I could not use the light, the bath, any electronic devices. There was no wifi and no breakfast. Also the air conditioning did not work. In all: Dreadful night, no service at all, but full payment, even though a full refund was promised.

Very old and worn carpet
Breakfast was poor

The breakfast was good and their staff were sympathetic.
There were many homeless in front of the hotel doors and we couldn’t go inside and outside comfortably. The hotel asked to pay for parking but it was quite unsafe. Thieves broke our car glass and took all our belongings and the hotel told us that they are not responsible for that.

Small room

Very clean, Staff friendly, electrical sockets on the wall were close enough to plug in a CPAP machine. AC and heating were easy to set and worked well. Smart TV has HDMI inputs so devices were able to be used, wifi excellent! Good closet space.
King bed room view is to the wall and windows of the building. "secondary parking" is blocks away and not secure (outside with public access). Bathtub is shallow and flimsy- hubby felt he was going to fall through the bottom when showering.

The location was convenient to the hwy. The staff were helpful, accommodating, experienced and pleasant.
The bathroom was not clean. There was hair on the floor; the bathtub did not appear to be clean( ring around the tub); the sink facet looked as if finding swiped the top of the facet clean and left the rest. We were three adult guests but there were two sets of towels; the twin beds in the second bedroom were cot sized and the skirts had been taped in several places with duct tape; the surface of the box springs on all beds had dust, hair and crud; the floor beside the bed was disturbingly sticky( grids); the chair seats were stained. Everything was old and tired. DJ music rhythm kept us awake. We had to have breakfast items in shifts as all amounts were very low.

Everything. It has so much character. The best is the elevator. A lot of history there. The breakfast was what is going to keep me going back. It was amazing.
The parking lacked for the discounted spots. But there was overflow offered. The beds were on the hard side. Not a lot to complain about or dislike!

The hotel is very dated. Parking costs extra, it's reasonable though, but parking close to the hotel is super narrow and very limited. Other parking spaces are quite a walk away. The furniture is very dated. The beds are very uncomfy as they have been in use for ages. On our floor (4th) it either smelled of weed or mold.

Excellent location, great to have parking available close at hand at low cost. Hotel itself felt very old school, loved the lift! Solid breakfast included.

I liked the look of the property and it was nice for a close walk to the nearby park. Room had multiple
windows that opened which was nice.
Rooms were cold and there were no options for warming the room up. Quite noisy for mid week, lots
of people yelling and doing drugs outside.

We have stayed at the Plaza many times and been very happy. This time was disappointing. I did not realize I needed to specify that we would like to have a bathtub as we have always had one in this hotel also, Saturday night was very noisy in downtown Kamloops so I should have specified that a quiet room was necessary .

Location
No parking. The shower didn't function. I NEEDED to shower and went to the front desk and they gave me keys to another room. They gave me access to a room that a guest had stayed in and already checked out. There was a smelly unflushed gift greeting me in the toilet, towels on the floor a condom in the bathtub where I am supposed to shower. I went to a truck stop to shower.

Old but well cared for and very clean building right in the centre of Kamloops, near a good selection of pubs and restaurants and close to the river and trails.
No issues
