The room was lovely, cozy and clean. Breakfast was delicious. The location was great for us -- close to Beacon Hill Park and the walkable area of Cook Street village.
The only thing we found was that the room was very warm. It was nice at first on a rainy day, but then a bit too warm. We were able to turn off the bedroom radiator, which helped. (We didn't ask anyone to handle it; I'm sure they would have, as the staff was so helpful.)

Great location. Super lovely staff. Nice to have the library to use, as well. Breakfast was very nice.
It is a Victorian-era mansion, but it could use a bit of modernization in terms of its interior decor.

The staff was very professional and genuinely friendly. They manage the Inn with thoughtful care and regard for their guests, while giving guests privacy and space. The location is perfect because you can walk to the inner harbour with easy access to Market Square and Chinatown and so many amazing restaurants. The building is very authentic. You really feel you are in another era, yet everything is kept up to modern expectations. The breakfast room is bright and airy and the breakfast is tasty. Most mornings fresh berries, like blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. May vary by season, but was so appreciated. And the egg dishes included nice touches, like avocado. And in the library, there is always baked goods and sherry. Overall, a great experience.
Overall there was no problem with the mattress, but used to a topper at home, so prefer a softer mattress (and of course, not everyone likes toppers). But don't let this comment change your mind about booking. You will still get a good nights sleep and enjoy the ambience and breakfast.

I stayed here for a couple of nights for a solo visit to Victoria following my travels around the Rockies. The staff are lovely and very accommodating - as a vegetarian that doesn’t like eggs, they still delivered amazing breakfasts for me! The property is very clean and comfortable, with only a 10 minute walk to downtown/the harbour. I also never felt unwelcome or treated differently due to being a solo traveller, even though I imagine their usual customers tend to be couples. Would definitely recommend!

The ambiance. It fully captured old Victoria within one setting. The room was quaint and beautiful, as if you stepped into a time warp. A truly quintessential experience! The library was another showstopper; we loved how it stayed open all night at your convenience to read books and nibble on pastries with port. It felt very regal but also as if you were visiting your grandparents home. Very cozy, inviting and good for the soul.
No TVS in the room would be better, as it somewhat takes you out of that old world feeling. Being able to choose your breakfast would also be nice (perhaps 2-3 options).

Excellent breakfast in a sunny room with big windows.

I can't imagine a more beautiful room or more attentive host. Cookies, fresh fruit, fresh flowers, a wood burning fireplace, a giant jacuzzi, lovely creaky wooden floors, gorgeous light and lighting, and WOW the breakfast. I usually write off included breakfast but the Beaconsfield is something else. Truly magical Victorian dream. I almost cried to leave!
Nothing. It was PERFECT.

The room we had, The Garden Suite was excellent. Martin very helpful and friendly.
Being from Ireland maybe a breakfast with egg and bacon now and again or a choice.

House and room nicely furnished. Easy parking. Good location. Comfortable bed. Breakfast well presented and more than adequate though very carb heavy.
Adequate Lighting throughout house was quite poor, including in the room. Staff business oriented, provided very little information about inn policy or the area, don't have a friendly, warm demeanor and do not attempt to engage in any meaningful conversation. Room carpet worn and looked dirty.
