First, I booked this room for my son and his fiance, specifically because on this site (Booking.com) it states that the required age to check in is 18. My son is 19 and I wasn't traveling with them. Upon arrival, they were told they couldn't check in and that they had to be 25. My son was extremely upset, had driven down to surprise his fiance with tickets to the Hornets game. I called the main office and some wonderful gentleman worked the problem out. I am very grateful , otherwise they would have been stranded in a strange city, hours from home without a place to stay. Then there was confusion about whether or not the stay had been paid for, after another phone call that to was resolved. I don't blame the hotel staff but it was very stressful. Overall, after checkin they were very happy with the room and the great location to the event.

Coffee in the room very poorly replenished

This was a wonderful hotel, very clean, great location, great views, the room had a space for me to work which was great for my trip, bed and linens were clean and comfy.
There was nothing about my stay that could've been better. This is worth the money if you are coming for a short business trip. It is also very close to many restaurants.

Convenience to the event I was attending
I was double charged for my room and I was charged for breakfast the next morning when it was included with my stay. Total disaster

We enjoyed it. Staff was extremely nice. I didn’t meet a single person who wasn’t going beyond their way to be courteous and helpful — both in the hotel and the bar. Very friendly smiling faces.
I didn’t like the sliding smoked glass bathroom door. That didn’t provide much privacy.
Also, the fire alarm went off and the only reason we knew is because our 10 year old granddaughter asked why the lights were flashing in the hallway. We didn’t hear a sound in our room. Seems unsafe.

Nice, clean. Location
Room was very small. Noisy. You could hear the people upstairs, in hallway, outside the building. Did not sleep it was so noisy

It’s a Marriott and has the Marriott standard items
The rooms are very bland and cheap looking

Massive failure of management team. Never stayed at the hotel. Tried to cancel three times with no one willing to assist.

Incidental fee was more than the price of my room for 2 nights

Location was good. City center. Bed was comfortable.
Too long time to check in. Cannot find my reservation. The hotel is old and not so clean. There was a litter in the lobby in the evening and in the morning the litter was still at place, no one took care of this. The room and furniture is quite worn out. The price is very high for such service and room.

I liked the facilities and the convention staff were great!
Not really into downtown charlotte or any big city.

Speedy check-in
Valet for $45. Took almost an hour to get my car from the time I handed valet my ticket. Unacceptable under even the busy circumstances.

Within walking distance to many restaurants and other venues.
The valet area can get congested but overall no complaints.

Location was excellent!
5 things that were disappointing in our deluxe king room w/city view. We won't be back and will not recommend.
First, the couch was in poor condition, see cushion picture - it's very noticeable as it sticks out an extra 5" when in place. Second, the paint was majorly peeling off the ceiling near the bathroom and it felt very dingy and was an eye sore (see pic). Third, the shower floor was dirty, hair all over. Fourth, the windows aren't soundproof and the traffic was distributingly loud at night when trying to sleep. Fifth, they advertise a free breakfast at Stoke (online when reserving room and upon check-in) but the breakfast isn't free, was charged and called and complained but nothing could be done now. Traveler beware. Lots of nice options in this area and would recommend going elsewhere for the price. Overnight parking was expensive, $45 plus tip.
