The beds were comfortable
It was run-down, there’s a strip club across the street, the whole hotel outside of the rooms was gross - markings on the walls, stained carpet, broken trim, moss growing on the outdoor carpet & windows. The hot tub was pretty gross too. Inside the rooms was pretty clean, but the closet door was broken, one of the sinks didn’t work, the tv remote didn’t work so the tv didn’t work. It was disappointing considering we paid $160 for 1 night.

The location was convenient and the price was reasonable.
The property was very dated and run down. Some places were dirty and not working properly.
3.1
Very budget friendly.
Next to a halfway house, sketchy people walking around the parking lot. Blood or some kind if gross stains on curtains. Hair on bed and sink. Stains throughout the carpets. Pretty grossed out we didn’t even sleep under the blankets. Basic continental breakfast you need to pay 7$ for. Staff was friendly.

Price, quality
Everything was just fine!
3.1
Updated bed and furniture. Clean hardwood flooring rather than carpet.
Need a couple of sofa chairs to sit on. Only choice was to sit on the bed.

Bed and pillows very comfortable. Location was pretty good.
Room was shabby and in need of serious renovation, which I was told was in the works. Upholstered chair was too dirty to want to sit on. Mold in bathroom, towel bar and shower curtain barely hanging on.
3.1
The price
It’s getting a little rundown. Duck tape on carpet in hall. Area of town getting a little seedy with questionable people entering and leaving the hotel.

The girl at the front desk was clearly high on something👎 in addition we needed either a handicapped room or at least a room close to an elevator. We were stuck in 309 far far from the elevator.

The beds and pillows were comfortable the room was clean and spacious and quiet
Tv remote didn’t work half the time. They charge guests $7 for a plain continental breakfast and the staff didn’t explain that at check in

Location
Everything else. Here’s my story…
When I got to the Red Lion Hotel, while checking in, there were several guests coming up to the front desk upset because their room key wouldn’t open their room door.
The person checking me in assured me it was operator error and coached me on how to get the room key’s magnetic strip to be recognized so I could get into my room (first warning sign).
I took my luggage to my assigned room and sure enough, neither of the 2 keys she gave me worked. The guy in room next door happened to step out and said he had same problem. We tried all her suggestions for a few minutes to no avail.
I went back to the front desk with luggage. Got 2 new keys and yup, you guessed it, they didn’t work either.
Went back down with luggage and the lady said “let me make 2 more and I’ll go with you to show you how it works”. Got to the room and she couldn’t gain access. By this time I’m tired but laughing. Even the hotel couldn’t push or pull enough to get the door open.
We went back to front desk with luggage and she said “this hotel is super old and it’s really expensive to upgrade the locks because door needs to be replaced too. Your room must have a dead battery in the lock so here is key to a different room. your stay. “ and sent me on my way.
I got to that room and the key worked…but…it was occupied and the occupant was not happy. I left quickly and went back to front desk.
The person at front desk couldn’t believe it. She said that it was a clean room ready for use. Was like she thought I was making it up.
I said “Look, have a van and can sleep in the parking lot. Would you please refund my money and I’ll be on my way.”
She said “oh no, we can’t do that because you booked through Booking.com. You need to call them. We can’t refund your money. I’m sorry. ”
Now it’s 12am and I said “could you please just get me into a room so I can sleep in a room that doesn’t have other people in it?

super close to downtown. They have those ebikes and scooters right out front so easy transportation. A coffee shop with really good coffee down the block and a nice view of the city. room was also clean and comfortable. We always enjoy staying here and will be back!
Found something questionable on the mattress under all the sheets and covers. It was on the side of the mattress so didnt bug us too much. I also think the heater may have been broken. kept trying to turn it down but it stayed pretty hot in our room.

Good rate
Very run down, didn't look as clean as it could be. There was dust all over our room and chips of the door frame in the bathroom missing. I would not go back.
3.1
The room temperature can not be controlled. At least the heating worked and we didn't freeze.
It would be nice if the room temperature could be controlled. Also they no longer have potatoes for breakfast and the eggs are really bad instant yellow piles that pretend to be eggs.

It appears that this was once a very nice hotel, but it definitely needs a refresh if it's ever going to get back to that. However, for the price it was a very good value. The room was pretty comfortable and the breakfast was ok... not great, but ok and included in the room price. I would definitely stay here again, especially given the price of other hotels in the Boise area.
Nothing in particular- if you only like really nice hotels with updated facilities, you won't like this hotel. If you are looking for a low price (for Boise) and an ok hotel, this is a good choice.

location. Room Bed and pillows were comfortable. The appearance of lobby was welcoming. TV was adequate.
Booking.com's advertised an open year round pool and hot tub. This was not true. the Air conditioning unit was very loud. So much so that i felt i was on an airplane. A/C blew too cold regardless of thermostat adjustments, The A/C supply grill appeared old worn and dirty. The room furnishings, paint, trim etc, were dated and room did not give me a feeling of cleanliness. The toilet ran and flush valve seal had to be reseated/corrected everytime after being flushed. Overall i would rate room poorly as kind of divey. I Dont think i would ever want to stay in this hotel again. A $200 deposit was required and charged on my card immediatly for my stay because i was "local". I found this policy very prejudicial and off-putting.

The breakfast was okay. The staff was hardworking, friendly, and went out of their way to give us a positive experience.
The rooms weren't ready when we arrived, but they gave us free breakfast to make up for it. The cards for the doors didn't work to unlock. One sink was clogged. The building is becoming run down.

Location and price is why it was selected.
Very noisy. The room doors all made squeaked when opening and closing. The walls are very thin. The door locks were low on battery or something because the key cards would not work. This happened to me twice and another guest that I know of for sure. Outside there was a lot of load cars going up and down the street.

Balcony was nice. But could use chairs. The outside side sink was nice. The bathroom door did not lock. The main door was kind of ware out. Didn't feel very safe.
The water in the pool could have been warmer. Not enough towels in the pool...

Quiet and comfortable
This property need some serious remodeling. it’s a older property that hasn’t been upgraded in some time.

Good price. Breakfast was ok but not included in cost of room. Didn't have much for healthy choices though. Decent location within walking distance to downtown Boise. Room was clean and housekeeping staff were kind and helpful.
Hotel in general all very run down. Exterior was run down. Some people hanging out of windows on ground floor that looked like long term renters. Lobby was dirty. Hallways and carpets very run down and scratched, torn, taped with duct tape. Elevators very run down. Basically everything looked very run down and dirty except for the rooms themselves were not bad. Clearly lots of deferred maintenance and has not had good upkeep or building maintenance.

Room had not been fully cleaned and restocked. Missing coffee cups and regular coffee - a moldy old coffee pack and coffee left in the pot. The toilet had not been scrubbed and there was hair in the sheets.

Becky was amazing. Remembered me from 3 months ago! Went out of her way to make sure our every needs were meant. I was a lifeguard here in 1965 I believe, so enjoyed my trip home! I shall always stay here on my trips to Boise!!!

The location and the staff
The room Sting so badly.
And it was so dirty.
The bathroom smell like humidity.
And if was a lots of people in one room talking like crazy in the mettle of the night and we couldn't sleep.
We also pay for a premium room and we just got the standard room and we didn't get any discount or anything.
