We stayed at the Elk Refuge Inn on June 2nd in a Double. Its was a very comfortable room (though rather expensive), bright and warm, lots of space and with a functional shower.
Staff member at reception could be more cooperative/available (also, reception is closed from 7 pm till 8 am)

The room and bathroom were spotless, the beds comfortable, the kitchenette very handy, and the staff very friendly! It was a great "home base" to visit Grand Teton National Park. And the view from the room is a great bonus!

The room was very compactly arranged to include the kitchen, bath and two queen beds. The balcony had a nice view but the road is right below it. The room was clean and ready for us an hour after check in time began.
The hotel seems to charge extra fees for everything. It was posted $20 extra cleaning fee if you leave the kitchen dirty, $50 if you are late getting out of your room (10 am check out) and $500 if my service dog damaged the room. While I definitely understand hotels charging damages if people leave the room a mess, constantly getting texts or seeing signs about these rules was a little unwelcoming. That, plus the facilities are not in that good of shape to begin with...

When my husband and I arrived at Elk Refuge Inn we found out they were not pet friendly. We did not know this before hand and happened to have our dog with us. At check in we were told if we were to bring the dog in our room and violate their rules they would charge us $500 for pet damage fees. My husband honestly asked the guy at the front desk if he had any ideas of what we could do and he replied “she could sleep outside”. If you read the agreement form, they actually do not allow pets to sleep outside or in a vehicle unattended. This seemed intentionally dishonest. We decided to try to find a pet sitter in town to watch our dog and were able to find someone using the Rover app. A few days after we left we received an email saying that we were going to be charged the $500 pet damage fee because they found a lot of “pet” hair on their floors. Since we did not violate the agreement and had proof that our pet stayed somewhere else for the night, we felt this was unfair and wanted to speak with the manager to resolve this and show them our proof. We called them but were told that the manager wouldn’t be in till a few days later and they wouldn’t be able to help us till then. We also emailed them our proof that our dog didn’t stay the night there. The emails we received back told us they couldn’t help us and our emails were being forwarded to a different manager. On the day we were told that the manager was supposed to be back in office we called multiple times and when we finally got a hold of someone they said a manager with a different name than the first one would help us the next day. They continued to show that they did not want to help us or communicate. We continued to call multiple times the following day and no one at the reception desk picked up once! Since we were unable to get a hold of a manager all week, we filed a claim with our credit card. A day later we received an email back from them saying we would be refunded the money. Not worth the hassle!

For those who drive to Jackson and want to be outside of the town atmosphere, this property is a good choice. It is I. face right across the highway from the Elk Refuge, and there we had constant sightings of thousands of elk. The other advantage is a fridge, microwave and sink so guests can easily bring a lot of food if there are dietary issues.
This is a “value” property. There are absolutely no frills here and the room is small. The office is closed overnight, so you are very much on your own. The rooms are right on the main highway, but actually noise was minimal.

Just outside town, across the street from elk refuge. It wasn't fancy, but we loved it. ❤️

Old style AC/Heater in-wall unit fan cycled on and off every 5 minutes. Unfortunately, there were three choices, no AC, no heat or a steady fan noise during a winter storm. We chose heat and put up with the constant cycling of the fan.

Great view and very conveniently located to Jackson, the Tetons and the airport
ROAD NOISE...right on the highway. Did not expect to hear traffic with a view

The staff added wonderful amenities to enhance the stay. Complimentary snacks, coffee and cocoa were so thoughtful. Kitchenette was utilized for 2 meals in house. Views were lovely as promised.
Road noise from the highway outside was way louder than expected. Rooms seemed very thin as we could hear guests below us and outside doors. Earplugs were provided in amenity kit and sadly they were needed, even for my husband who is not a light sleeper. Good job to staff for providing ear protection.
