Honestly, everything was great. We loved the fireplace and heated bathroom floor. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet while we were there which was a huge plus.

What a gorgeous place! Beautifully decorated and comfortable.

Beautiful historic building, lovingly restored with designer touches everywhere
The mattress could’ve used an upgrade, but that’s my only complaint!

it was all fantastic

Location was excellent. Breakfast perfect. Coffee, exceptional.
The impersonal nature of the entire process from booking to finding my room was a bit off putting.

The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms and location of The Merchant were beautiful and exceeded my expectations; we literally could walk everywhere.
Rooms could have each had their own refrigerator. Lucky for us the 3rd floor where we stayed housed one of the refrigerator locations.

the property is super stylish and in a very historical building. it’s right near the center of everything. the brechas very comfy, and the rooms have fireplaces. There are fresh baked goodies in the morning and tons of complimentary snacks and coffee/tea. I can’t wait to visit again.

Did not have breakfast, but loved the coffee.
The location was terrific.
The room was beautiful and loved the propane fireplace.
There is no place in the room or bathroom to apply makeup or shave with a safety razor. You need a 6-8 inch lighted mirror with a accordian connection affixed to the wall next to the bathroom sink.
There is no safety bar in the shower. If someone were to slip, the only thing to grasp is the handle on the GLASS door and the door would probably open dumping the person on the floor.

The property was fine, room was clean.
Way too overpriced, kind of felt like a glorified hostel.

This boutique hotel was absolutely beautiful. Modern, chic design in every detail. I was so impressed with the staff. She was so helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Plus, she had personally made delicious scones for guests. Every detail was thought through.
The ONLY aspect of our stay that wasn’t for us was the boutique aspect of the hotel. It was a historic property and with that meant a little extra noise. We could hear showers running throughout the night. But that’s part of a small hotel.

We loved the architecture, decor, and the location! The communication by reception was first rate both leading up to arrival, during and after our stay. Such a special place!
Because of room rates, we could only afford one night!

Location was great. Love the building . Rooms were beautiful. and the staff was very friendly.
The AC unit in our room was terrible , It made a gargle sound all night I felt like I was in a fish tank.

So close to downtown Salem. Amazing smelling soaps and shampoos. Yummy breakfast pastries.

The hotel was in a great location and decorated so nicely. The staff was very friendly. And the room was clean. We also found out the history of the place on one of our tours.
The only downside was that the hotel uses texts to communicate and we did not receive the key code prior to checking in so we had to try to call a couple of time to get it.
