We didn’t make it breakfast either morning.
1.0 / 5.0
the location. it was in a secluded part of Honolulu and was very quiet.
The property must have been nice ten years ago. Everything is old (my house was built in 1845 so I am used to old places) and tattered. Torn curtain in the bedroom, the windows didn’t close, no mirror in the bathroom, no bedside table or beside lamps. The lady who was on the premises is lovely and does her best but this is not a three star stay. I would give it a one star. it certainly doesn’t justify the charge of $230 a night.

The accommodation was very well located towards Waikkiki and also as a starting point for all kinds of excursions. The staff was very friendly and always inquired about the well-being.
The beds were comfortable, but you felt like you were sleeping downhill.
Overall, the furniture was very used and getting on in years. The decoration seemed rather kitschy in live. Also, the lamps could use a feather duster.
The breakfast was overall quite thin, but the pancakes on the other hand very good and freshly prepared.

Friendly staff and large room.
Everything smelled of dog, even the garden where breakfast is served. The windows rattled terribly at night with the wind.

Location was good. Breakfast choices were good. We booked the King Suite, which has a separate sitting area from the bedroom, which was nice. The extra space was a bonus!
The pool really shouldn't be called a pool. It's only 18" or 2 ft deep at most, unclean. Parking was very tight. They do have lots of dogs/cats. We don't have a problem with that, but it should be listed in the description in case someone books this place and they do have pet allergies.

The gardens are amazing and magical. so many little things to see- statues, beautiful lush foliage, nice salt water swimming pool. The old porcelain tub in the room we stayed in was beautiful.
The first impression walking in the door was a pungent smell of cat urine (from 14 cats living in a room on the main floor).
We enjoyed the tub in the room until we had to end our bath with a startle when the lady that owns the 14 cats pounded on the door, then LET HERSELF INTO OUR ROOM (there is no security lock inside the room besides the lock that has a key) without giving us time to even answer the door, then pounded on the bedroom door inside the room to tell us the water was leaking from the tub downstairs.
It felt like a violation of our privacy when she entered our room without permission.

Great location, very kind and friendly staff, cute dogs, and phenomenal breakfast.
The room we were in didn’t really allow for showering, it basically only had a bath.

Awesome historical Victorian mansion! We had the master bedroom (Guild room) and it was decked out with period appropriate antique furniture, stained glass windows, 10’ ceilings, separate Library (TV) room, and a super comfortable bed that we tried to look up the material of the sheets because we want to get some for our house. Great value for the accommodations we received!
The noises the plumbing made in the middle of the night.

I liked the style and decoration
me gusto el estilo y la decoración
but when you travel, that is not as important as compliance with what they offer as a "hotel"

Lovely bed and breakfast in an ideal location! Everyone was so friendly, very kind and hospitable. The decor was unique; it was Victorian themed, very romantic. There was a modern AC Unit in our room, which worked great! The owners live at the property and they have 3 dogs. I only saw 2 of them and both were very friendly and calm. There was a complimentary breakfast each morning and it smelled yummy! Unfortunately, mosquitos seem to be drawn to me and breakfast was served in the patio outside, where I would have been eaten alive. So I had to pass on breakfast. It's okay, it's a tropical island so that was expected. I'm sad to have missed the opportunity to enjoy breakfast and dine/mingle with the other guests though. The location is great! There are lots of great places to eat nearby. My fave spot ended up being this Japanese bakery called Brug in Manoa Marketplace. Great pastries! And they had these cups, half-filled with coffee jello. Upon purchase, they offer a variety of milk to choose from, which they fill the cup with and they give you a straw. Use the straw to break the coffee jello apart, then drink the coffee jello and milk through the straw. I was addicted to this drink and went there each morning for this drink a couple of pastries, one savory and one sweet! For great poke, I highly recommend Off The Hook Poke Market, across the street from Manoa Marketplace, next to Starbucks. The spicy ahi has a kick! I really enjoyed the Cold Ginger Ahi Poke, Wasabi Furikake Ahi and Miso Ginger Tako (Octopus). So ono!! Waikiki is a quick 10-15 drive. Overall, the location was great and this was a nice, quaint little place, but it's not for me. I really wanted to support this small business, but I learned that I prefer to stay at a hotel. That's just me though.
This inn is a historic building so there's no elevator. My room was on the 3rd floor and thankfully, they brought my luggage up on the first day. Bringing my luggage down; however, was challenging. My room had a slanted ceiling over the 2nd bed and in the bathroom, which made the shower a "sit-down shower." I literally had to get in the tub, sit and hold the hand-held shower head over me. The water pressure was good. There was no hot water one night so I showered in the morning instead. There's a humidifier on the main floor, near the entrance. It had a lavender scent. But there was a musky odor that overpowered that lavender scent. The musky odor was stronger on the 3rd floor. There was 1 mini fridge on the 3rd floor, that was shared between the 3 rooms on the floor. Parking is super tight and there are cracks, making the pavement uneven. I preferred street parking, but those were often all taken. Lots of mosquitos.

Location and decor was great, very private and beautiful garden.
There are dogs that stay downstairs, not a problem for me but might be for others.

Great location next to U of Hawaii, excellent breakfast in a outside setting with tropical green and beautiful orchids. Free onsite parking. The employees made you believe they really have passion for their daily work.

Hostess Tomo was very nice. Historical home. Vintage decor with antique furnishings.
Location was near university in a busy residential area. Parking was tight. There is a strong pungent animal smell as you walk in. There are animals on property a cat and a few dogs.
Only fresh fruit at breakfast both days was pineapple. No fresh juices as advertised. Breakfast was average. An egg, potatoes, sausage, and cabbage. Area rugs and living room chairs were visibly soiled. Dogs are allowed on furniture. The pool is in need of updating.
There is no soap. Liquid in bathroom and shower dispensers felt like plain water. No shampoos or toiletries.
Family owned with family living on premises.

Bed was comfortable and the girl who checked us in was very kind.
The home was in a bad neighborhood, the pool was in disrepair, and the place had several cats and there was a cat smell.
The water was cold. Showers were cold. They would not discount the room. Also we had to leave early and they would not send us with a breakfast to go.

Such a kind staff! Wonderful breakfast! Historic experience. Lovely garden. Husband liked the pool—very cold. Larger room had a great shower.
This inn would be better if little amenities like shampoo and lotion. Serve good Hawaiian coffee. Offer a variety of tea bags. Make sure to clean the bedspread. Clean rooms more frequently. The dogs are cute, but have unfortunately made the downstairs smell a bit like dog. The rugs probably need to be switched out frequently if the dogs still get to roam freely. We like dogs, but this is an issue. Also, as some people are allergic to dogs, it is important to let everyone know they are there. Also, the bathroom window didn’t provide privacy. Again, pool too cold.

Breakfast was outstanding. Location was excellent for our purposes. Most important was the friendliness of the owner and staff. They treated us like family and we enjoyed talking with them and sharing our memories.
Parking was free ,but sometimes crowded.

Staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Pool was beautiful. Breakfast was fine if a little odd. Never had boiled cabbage with eggs before.
I know you are going for a victorian ambiance with the decor, but it was way over the top. Cluttered, messy and dusty. Cobwebs in the stairwell. I rather like an unusual and slightly funky place, but not at $300/night

The location was perfect for us! Being at Manoa Valley Inn was like going back in time. The trade winds blew through our room, and, although air-conditioning was available, we didn't need to use it! The staff was so friendly and kind; our room was immaculate. We will not hesitate to make reservations here the next time we're in Honolulu.
There's nothing that could have improved our experience. It was perfect.

Breakfast was delicious! The beauty of the place was unmatched inside and out. Hosts were excellent.
Parking was tight, but we made it work. The rooms were not air-conditioned upon arrival, but we turned on the room AC and was comfortable. The main floor had order, so it could use Fabreeze.

Great breakfast! Excellent coffee, fresh pineapple, eggs to order, and lots more.
The inn is an historic building so no elevator and 3 flights of stairs to top floor rooms, so a bit dicey if guest has mobility issues. Top-floor rooms have slanted ceilings so if very tall, watch your head! "Sitting shower" also a bit challenging, but good water pressure.

Staff and breakfast were great. This was a gift, otherwise we probably wouldn’t have known about it nor stayed there. Will consider staying again.
Beds were a bit lumpy. Altho warned about the room not having a standing shower, we wd prefer not staying in that type of room again. Pet smell was a bit strong at entry and hallway but not as noticeable in room.

The made-to-order breakfast each morning was amazing. The rooms are very clean and wonderfully decorated. All of the staff are very friendly and the pool was great. I also appreciated that it is locally family-owned.

Really charming property with a lot of history and some wonderful touches
There was mold in the bathroom
