We had a great time in Tavira by this lovely town house. All was very clean and well equipped- we enjoyed having breakfast outside. Ann was quick in answering and prepared all information. We would definitely come back and recommend this place!!!

Very enjoyable - we are thin people so no issues with the curling staircase and tiny bathroom

This was a nice stay in Tavira. The communication was very excellent and check in was easy. The location was good and a short walk to many restaurants, the marina and bus station.
The stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and difficult with luggage but we had teens so not a problem for us, but it would be for many travelers. The bathroom is very tiny but it works, just need to time out showers if traveling with several people. The kitchen was well stocked and ready for cooking although we didn’t do any. Some of the dishes were a little dirty, likely from past visitors not cleaning as well.
Overall this was a clean decent place to stay if you make Tavira your home base in the Algarve. We found Ubers to be easy to use to get to other areas, but it is a fair distance so we may choose to be more mid region if we ever see Portugal again. But Tavira is very quaint and keeps its old style better than most of the other towns!

Ann is amazing as a host. The property was clean and as advertised, within easy walking distance of the town. Free parking was available within a few minutes walk.
This was perfect for a short break - we even made Christmas dinner here

The facilities in the house are good. There are five sleeping places on good mattresses. The bathroom is tiny at around 1.2 square meters, but offers everything you need. However, people over 1.90 have problems with the knee space in front of the toilet. The spiral staircase to the upper floors is very narrow with narrow steps. Nothing for old people, children, people with walking difficulties or obese people. The kitchen is well equipped. The market hall can be reached in five minutes and offers high-quality vegetables, meat and fish six days a week. There is a small supermarket two minutes' walk around the corner.
The terrace is bordered with flower pots. In front of it there is a well-used parking lot, with entrances to other houses around it. The location of the house is quiet, the harbor, the city center and many tourist attractions can be reached on foot in five to ten minutes.
We were very pleased with the welcome from the landlady.

The property is exactly as advertised, with wonderful amenities. (Four ways to make coffee, hurrah!) Lovely space that we will rent again. The host's description about the stairs is accurate, we (in our 60's) handled them well, but that must be taken into account. The location and property WERE PERFECT for a visit to Tavira! We will rent again.

Very kind owner. Location was nice. Loved having a washing machine.

The townhouse is located on a quiet street within a 2 min. walk to the centre square, the waterfront and numerous restaurants. The neighbourhood feels very safe.
The townhouse is clean with a home like feeling. The kitchen is very well appointed, we made breakfast every morning. There is a supermarket nearby.
The air conditioning units worked very well at keeping the place cool during the heat.
There is a very small spiral staircase that leads up to the bedrooms. We had no issue with stairs but this may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. The beds were decent, excellent closet space to hang/fold your clothes.
Ann, the property owner was very easy to reach and replied back to questions promptly. She also provided suggestions on what to see and do and where to eat while visiting beautiful Tavira. I would recommend this property.

We were four adults in Tavira this Easter.
The house is super well located close to the center, yet in a quiet area.
The house is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need.
The stairs to the other floors are very narrow (55 cm.), and the bath/toilet is not large. Still, we had a lovely holiday and could easily come back.

Overall pretty satisfied, though the stairs are very narrow ( getting a big suitcase up and down is a challenge)

Just a lovely property in the middle of Tavira. The location is perfect. It is close to everything. The house is tiny but lovely. we adjusted to it. We had a couple of wonderful dinners outside. The neighborhood is super quiet during the day and at night too.
Thank you.

We had a lovely time. House was compact. But adequate. Shower room was small.

Excellent restored town house in central location
Our party (4 of us) stayed in early September, so weather still hot. The house is immaculately presented with a very well equipped kitchen, air conditioning that is fully functional and three comfortable bedrooms, one of them in the roof. The bathroom is small, but we managed well enough. A very stout person might struggle a little in it with the door closed. Plenty of towels and bedding are provided and the owner kindly left us a bottle of wine and some beer for when we arrived.
Location is picturesque, down a side road with trees and traditional tile fronted buildings - very peaceful. Vasvi the caretaker was very helpful. He lives very near by and will pick up from the airport on request. He helped sort out a blocked drain outside the house without delay.
The river front is a very short walk away with its excellent restaurants, cafes and ferry terminal for the beach island and river taxis.
All in all, I can highly recommend it.

We enjoyed very much our stay in this nice house. It is perfectly located - small restaurants, shops and the ferry to the beach are all very close by the house. The house itself is clean, has three nice bedrooms, only the bathroom is very tiny. But we got along with it very well. Would love to come back in future.

Fantastic little place in the heart of Tavira
A little gem in the center of Tavira. The location is excellent, you can walk everywhere in the city and the ferry to the beach is just around the corner.
The Villa is well equipped with all the amenities you will need for your stay and all the rooms are a good size. It was clean and well maintained and has a seating area outside, which is lovely in the morning.
Be aware that the spiral stair case is narrow and the bathroom is on the small side, in saying this the men in the group (both over 6ft) had no problem with it.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the fantastic price offered on Owners Direct. Ann is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a wedding to go to and Ann offered to help us in any way that she could.
We couldn't have asked for a better Holiday, this place comes highly recommended. Thank you Ann, you made our trip a memorable one.

Cozy house in exellent location
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Ann's house, and everything was pretty much as expected. The kitchen was really good for cooking, bedrooms a nice size and the actual beds comfortable. The location is fantastic, in the heart of the historic centre.
Ann was an accommodating host with good advice, and her housekeeper provided excellent weekly service. With the weather during our March/April stay being a little cooler than normal, we really appreciated the ability make the house warm and cozy.
One small drawback might be that the stairs and one bathroom may be difficult for a large/overweight person or children. The spiral staircase is steep, and the bathroom very small, although completely functional. However, this was not a problem for our party of four active adults.

Nice, clean and well situated. Friendly, helpfull owner
Flight was massively delayed but we were still met at site with the key. Basics were supplied along with a welcome bottle of wine. Very clean house, with a pretty well equipped kitchen. Its on 3 storeys. Ground is kitchen and living/dining area. Middle is 2 double bedrooms and a shower room and toilet. Upper is a double bedroom. The spiral staircase is very narrow and steep but there is plenty to hold onto, however, I approached it with some trepidation. It was interesting getting up there with a suitcase! Similarly, the space between the sink and the wall to allow you to get to the loo is not the largest, - I know a few folk of larger girth who would problably find it a bit tight getting up there, and then getting to the facilities. The shower is great (if again a bit neat), the bedding and towels of good quality. Ample toilet roll and cleaning products such as washing up liquid were there too, which was nice. Theres a super array of places to eat on your doorstep, but despite this it was nice and quiet here and we also found it a good base for exploring. We were texted during our stay to check if we were ok and had everything we needed, a very nice touch on the part of Ann. Very nice place to stay

Comfortable, clean. tidy and, in terms of the town centre, a very good location
Enjoyable and worth a future visit.

Spotlessly clean!
This accommodation couldn’t be more well situated for exploring Tavira and surrounding area. It’s close to the river, the market, Tavira town centre, shops, supermarkets, indoor shopping centre, bus & train stations, a couple of museums well worth visiting, a Fado music concert, and the ferry to Tavira Island. It’s a delightful area to explore on foot with its many cafes and restaurants - even in December/January we enjoyed sitting outdoors. The small fishing villages close to Tavira are delightful to explore - Casela Velha, St. Luzia, Pedro D’El Rei, Olhao, Cabanas to name a few. We found the house spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. The hanging and drawer space in the master bedroom was excellent, the mattress very comfortable, and bed linens lovely. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. We would have enjoyed more space in the bathroom, but we’d rather have small and spotlessly clean than large and grubby! Our host was delightful and so helpful, as was her manager.

a lovely week
We enjoyed our week in Tavira and the transport provided by Vasvi was a bonus.
Casa Branca is an attractive, clean and spacious house with a well equipped kitchen.
The best thing about the house is it's superb location, so handy for everything, but in a peaceful neighbourhood.

A little gem with minor reservations
Good location and a spotless interior.l think the appliances need a more detailed explanation n how they function.Pity about the vertical stairs and having the court yard a public car park.I hope my comments were costructive and not taken as a negative report?

Excellent location
I travelled here with my wife and her family. For 4 adults this was a great place to stay with easy access to everything. Tavira is a wonderful place and I the accommodations added to our enjoyment of the location. The host is very accommodating and was willing to open up for me very late at night due to a late flight and also took the time to show me the apartment and give some helpful tips. I would definitely recommend and will return to this apartment.

Excellent 3 bed townhouse. Rooms well furnished and equipped, clean throughout, central location
Well equipped centrally located 3 bed townhouse very pleased with the property for our holiday. Brilliant air con throughout, which is needed when Algarve temperature rises. Great location for access to minimarkets, restaurants and the river ferry to Ihle de Tavira sandy beach. Peaceful at night and during the day. Owner in contact with us during our stay and met by caretaker on arrival. Had breakfast outside every day on patio set, had crabs and prawns for tea on several occasions great holiday property for a relaxed Portugese holiday. Well recommended and big thanks to Ann for renting it to us.

Loved it!
We had a lovely time staying in Tavira. The house is in the perfect location for the old town. We would love to return one day.

Compact 3 bedroom house. Very clean, good location. Winding stairs need to take care on them.
Tavira is a lovely town lots to do. House v clean and has everything you need. Loved the beach and town. Very friendly place with great cultural evening entertainment. We hired bikes and cycled though probably bit too hot in August. Running around the salt marshes in the evening was wonderful. Beaches clean and well managed. No need for a car.
My only feedback is the outside space. There is a lovely place to sit and eat outside but you have cars parked right up next to the table and your front door. Probably to be expected a parking is at a premium.

Central, convenient. Live as a local.
We stayed for 10 days in Tavira. Ann organised a driver, Vasvi to collect us from Faro which was very convenient. The house is small despite being 3 bedrooms. My husband and son are 6ft 2, so what I would say is that the staircase and bathroom are not made for larger people. Having said that, we did get used to it over the time. The kitchen had everything and with supermarkets all around making meals was easy. We arrived on a Friday and discovered that in the height of summer you must book a table at least two day's ahead! It is very busy. The ferry to the beach is regular and efficient and the beaches are all blue flag ie very clean. Tavira is a very pretty town but I would suggest a car if you want to go further afield.

an ideal house for experiencing life in this popular Algarve town
Communication with the owner prior to our stay was excellent. Questions were promptly and reassuringly answered. This would be an ideal property for anyone who did not want to hire a car. The house is very centrally located. Cafes, restaurants, the river and its ferry to the beach are all on the doorstep. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped so easy to shop locally, cook at home and then enjoy a drink out and a bit of night life in the atmospheric streets afterwards.
The house was lovely and cool to return to after a day exploring the town or beach and the air con was very efficient when necessary. Parking was sometimes a problem but we could always find a spot round the corner.
Although Casa Branca is so centrally placed the little road itself was surprisingly quiet and we were never disturbed by noise. It was an agreable, interesting holiday.

Comfortable accommodation right in the centre of Tavira.
We've just spent a couple of weeks in a comfortable well equipped house right in the centre of town. It was so peaceful. Ann the owner left wine, beer, bottled water and fresh fruit for our consumption - what a nice thought.
We found we didn't require a car and Ann organised a local man to collect us from the airport (it was a late arrival). It so nice to know we were being picked up and Vasvi gave us the keys and took our cases upstairs for us. He was charming and so helpful.
The town of Tavira is full of wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars. A trip on the ferry to the beach is a must as well. We'll be back - perhaps in the autumn.

Lovely little gem
One word, perfect. Beautiful house, Ann was so accommodating and Vasvi offered a welcome airport service-all in all, nothing was too much trouble and the house is beautifully maintained and in the perfect position in the town- would definitely recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat

No Car required
A very well appointed property centrally located in town. Although we drove from Saville Airport there's really no need for a car unless your planning to tour the Algarve.
Great not having to bring beach towels as these were provided. Beach umbrellas also. Air Conditioning very welcome as temperatures well over 30 all week.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and having breakfast outside in the courtyard was a bonus.
The staircase up to the bedrooms might prove a problem for folk with disabilities or young children, but otherwise we found the house very pleasant and at night very quiet.
The local ferry is 5 minutes away and takes you over to the beach. The Mercado market nearby has fresh fish daily as well as a number of butchers. Fruit and vegetables also on sale.
There are numerous restaurants not only Portuguese, you can eat at and all in ally out shouldn't be disappointed by your stay in Tavira.

Perfect 'home from home' retreat
Our stay at Casa Branca was brilliant! The pictures on the website and the glowing reviews we read before we booked are absolutely spot on; it's a wonderful place; clean, cosy and yet very spacious. The air con worked extremely well (and was needed!) and everything was provided that you would expect in a home (including the nice touch of a bottle of wine and a couple of cold beers for when we arrived). Our satellite TV didn't work on arrival, but a quick phone call to Ann, the owner, and with the help of the very friendly Vasvi; it was fixed the next day. Our family included a 9 and 7 year old who loved having their own rooms. The modern spiral staircase in the property made me nervous at first, but we all took our time on it and it was fine; might be a worry for parents with a younger child who likes to rush about though! The location was perfect and perfectly historical; only 3 streets away from the Ferry boat taking you over to the Ilha da Tavira beaches, and less distance still from the main promenade and bridges and a host of wonderful restaurants; but oh so quiet. We ate across the river a lot at the less touristy restaurants - Restaurant Bica being our favourite; but there are some very good places to eat within a few minutes walk of Casa Branca through the cobbled, narrow streets; they were also happy to go 'off menu' a bit for our fussy eaters. We had a fantastic time in Tavira, and we would recommend Casa Branca to anyone visiting the city. We spent a few hours in Vila Moura along the coast which was characterised by large hotels and 'international' cuisine chains and we couldn't wait to get back to Tavira and our 'home' there. The six year old neighbour even came over for a play one afternoon! Our stay really felt like an authentic Portugal retreat, which is what we wanted and what we got. We all hope we are able to return one day.

Casa Branca was perfectly located and very comfortable. Effortless walk to town, restaurants, and the island ferry!! Highly recommend! Ann was a very gracious and attentive host!! Thanks so much!!!

The property is situated in a central area of Tavira, just 500m from ferry to the island and a 5 minute stroll to the Roman bridge and lots of places to eat and drink.
The house itself has everything you could need for an enjoyable stay and was spotless in all areas.
Parking was no problem in the street outside
Wifi signal was very good

As I had never booked a private property in Portugal before I was a little nervous about it but I have to say Ann was very helpful and always responded quickly to my messages about her property. When we arrived in Tavira which was only about forty minutes from Faro Airport, we were greeted by Vasvi at 9.00pm to give us the keys and show us around the house. I fell in love with Tavira as soon as I got there and the house was lovely, it had everything you need for a self catering holiday. Ann was also very thoughtful and left some shopping for us such as bread and milk etc. as the shops might have been closed when we arrived. The house is in a really nice quiet area but walking distance to all the restaurants and shops, we found many good restaurants to eat out and only really had breakfast at the house. We did go to an Italian restaurant just a few yards from the house on the road to China Bizaar, the food was good and the staff were really friendly. We were so lucky as the weather during the day was in the 20's but it did get a bit cold at night and we put the heating on in the house for a wee while to take the chill away. There was only one small thing and that was the stairs were quite narrow as others have said, one of my friends had a walking disability and stayed in one of the first floor rooms which he managed ok but just took his time. I would definitely recommend this property and visiting the village of Tavira, I hope to be back in the summer.
2.5
The house is set back from the main roads only a short walk to the harbour where the ferry can be caught to the Ilha de Tavira. An unspoiled long stretch of white sand and turquoise waters. We contacted the owner as the kettle did not work, Anne told us that she would get us a new one and asked if would be OK to leave in the kitchen if we where not in. We said there was no hurry, when we returned after being out for short while there was a new kettle in place so thank you. Anne also sent us some information regarding a food and wine festival which we found very enjoyable. We would recommend this property as an excellent base to stay in Tavira its very clean and comfortable with all the home comforts. its also very nice to 'live' among the locals who are very friendly A short walk away over the river is Pessoa's cafe & wine bar which has a very welcoming owner and staff and excellent for a Sharish Gin & tonic at the end of a long day on the beach.
2.5
Fabulous property, clean and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped for self-catering (although with the great selection of restaurants within walking distance you may not want to self cater!). It was very hot when we were here but the house was nice and cool (there is air con but we did not need to use it despite the heat). Although centrally located the street is very quiet. I am a very light sleeper but had no problems sleeping with windows open. Complimentary beers in the fridge were very welcome on arrival. Tavira itself is lovely. Would recommend this property wholeheartedly.

Casa Branca was all that we wanted for a superb stay in the lovely town of Tavira. From the moment of booking the service and help we received from Ann was second to none, from the excellent communication to the welcoming bottle of wine on arrival! The house itself was centrally located within a two minute walk of the town, but situated in a quiet street.. The hous e was spotless and tastefully decorated, with a well equiped kitchen. The bedrooms were comfortable and spotless. The stairs to the bedrooms were very steep and narrow, which could be a problem for the less agile or children. Haaving said that, we are in our fifties and had no problem. A thoroughly pleasurable stay in a delightful house and an excellent experience throughout. Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tavira. The cottage was true to the description, very comfortable and well equipped. Geographically the position was perfect being only 100 yards from the nearest cafe, but far enough removed not to be disturbed by the towns traffic.
We would definitely recommend this cottage and Tavira to friends and relatives we found the whole experience very endearing.
We particulary enjoyed the laid back pace of the Portuguese and shopping for fresh meat, freshly caught fish and fresh vegetables at the indoor market a joy. You should try the orange honey, you will bring some home!
If you want to explore a little further we would recommend the rent a bike shop, they were very reasonable and easy to deal with.
2.5
A traditional Tavira townhouse with modern facilities. Very clean and well positioned close to the old town restaurants etc and the river where the fishing boats moor, and a ferry boat to Tavira island. We had a hire car and found no problem parking in the street outside (no charge). We will stay there again next year. Gordon and Lesley
