Lovely location in the heart of north Wales. Lovely evening meal as long as you like pie.
Room was directly above the hotel entertainment which was so loud the floor, wardrobe and windows all vibrating bringing on a migraine. When I mentioned it to the staff the next day I was told if I booked directly with them then they would have informed me of this. (the fact they sent two emails too me directly without saying anything. The staff told me the Saturday would be even louder at which point I handed back the room key with no offer of compensation from the hotel for cutting my stay short by a night! Bathroom very low ceiling and low door leading to it, didn't help the headache.

Big clean rooms
Wasnt sure where the front room was

The bed was comfortable and the room was a decent size. The staffw ere polite.
The kitchen shut rekatively early and there was no provision for food for those arriving late. the breakfast was not nice - largely cold and watery which is not good for a Cooked Breakfast. The room was "The Tower" and was a bit weird with seperate bathroom and quite steep stairs needed in order to access. The location was also on a caravan site.

Very helpful chef in the morning who brought me some filter coffee
They have not yet replied to my email about keeping my precious water bottles for me to collect next time I am in the area

We booked here for a treat for friends visiting us from Cornwall so they could see a part of North Wales.
We liked the location and the old history of the building.
Good cooked breakfast included.
Free parking
The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. The mattress was of poor quality and we barely slept and got up in pain. When telling the hotel we were told that they were new! I doubt this but if so was poor and cheap.
The food in the onsite restaurant was not as advertised on the website. No starters, as an example. A friend bought a burger which looked lovely but couldn't cut into it, it was inedible!
Live music was onsite but loud and rubbish act.

Upon arrival the staff showed us straight to our room which was cleanish… They had printed out our receipts.Tea, coffee , biscuits , water and clean towels and toiletries were nicely placed!
The shower curtain was discoloured, the carpet was not very clean and there was a towel in the bathroom that was left behind by someone else. One of the staff wasn’t sure what was included in the breakfast and only when we had what was there( not much) have we been told that whatever was on the breakfast menu is actually included in the price. Glasses and mugs were not really clean .

we ordered some chips for lunch and we got so many, so big portions which we appreciate :)
breakfast also large portions help yourself area for drinks tea coffee and cereals, then the chef will come out and ask what you would like for breakfast.
there wernt any breakfast menus to choose from.
there wernt any bins around the condiments bar to dispose of waste so was abit of a mess.
staff were nice, but if you wanted something you would have to go searching for a member.

Best thing I could say is sheets & towels were clean.
Room was cold, bed uncomfortable, pillows thin & uncomfortable, no extra blankets in cupboard to deal with cold in the middle of Jan, slept in clothes 2ND night. Bathroom shower was just a hand held over bath which neither of us could stand in the ceiling was so low, not even a shower curtain. Photos sold quite a grand looking place but feeling was cheap. Food was awful. Had an inedible meal in the bar evening we arrived. 1ST morning felt like we were putting them out because we’d turned up for breakfast, staff could be heard effing & blinding &gossiping whilst we ate, didn’t bother with breakfast 2ND day.

the caravan owners were lovely
New Year’s Eve entertainment was good
breakfast was very poor standard. sausages and bacon seemed to be microwaved, no butter on bread, continental breakfast was very limited. nobody asked us our name just gave us a key when we checked in. toilet door didn’t close as too big for opening. we left at 7am.

Close to Ruthin town centre. Accommodating and polite staff. Quiet. Good size room for the price. Parking available (although on this website it says there isn’t any).
A little more difficult with only having stairs to get to the next floor but staff did offer to help with luggage. Wifi wouldn’t reach my room. Breakfast was included but was very basic, although price was cheap.

It was a good size, clean room for the cost. Close to Ruthin town. Available parking. Staff were polite and accommodating. Quiet.
It wasn’t ideal to only have stairs to upstairs, but staff did offer to help which was appreciated. The wifi wouldn’t work in my room. Good price to include breakfast although little on offer.

It was far too hot in the rooms even after turning down the radiators

Nice traditional building and comfortable bed
Room was small, bar closed one hour before closing time, gym wasn’t available, and no chef so no cooked breakfast just cereal. Not a 4* hotel

Nothing
Everything. My room hadn't been cleaned when I arrived. They offered me a caravan instead. When I got to the van it was freezing cold as it hadn't been used all week . I had no towels coffee tea or toiletries which the staff eventually bought for me . I was 2 hours late for my wedding at the Ruthin Castle. I decided not to stay in the caravan and sort alternative accommodation. I have tried to ring the hotel all morning and had no answer as I wanted a refund .

Staff friendly. Lovely caravan site to walk around. Let us book in early
Food was of poor quality and not well presented. Poor selection of food for breakfast. Lack of dishes. Cereal boxes and used tea bags left on buffet table til next day. Had to ask if you needed the room cleaned/bed made etc and cups you had used to be washed. Three choices on the evening meal menu unavailable. Depressing rooms.

Second visit to this hotel. Exceeded my memories. Wonderful architecture. Six guests for dinner in the evening the main course was superb. Disappointed that our choice of starter was unavailable but that proves the freshness of the produce. Yorkshire puddings to die for!
Sticky toffee pudding was dry. Eaton mess needed meringue.

Staff friendly.
Very small cramped ròm. No wardrobe or closet despite room description. A television but unable to get any signal. Nowhere to hang a towel in bathroom. Washbasin in dark corner with no direct light from light fitting. No bedside lamp. Noisy from kitchen and bar service area - bottles slung into bin under window at 11.20 pm. Bed sagged. Wallpaper pealing. A thoroughly nasty room.

Very friendly staff and great service.
Bedroom was nice.
Dinner room and live music was great.
Breakfast and service was great as well
Outside play area for kids was awsome.
Was not able to get extra quilt.
A mono block mixer tab would be nice to have, and it will pay for itself by saving water wastage.

I really liked how friendly the staff were. I loved how cosy the hotel was. Lots of features. I loved the food!! My hubby and I couldn't get over the portion sizes and the quality of the food. Exceptional! Lovely view from our room and from the conservatory where you can eat.
Nothing.

Friendly surrounded by mountains
No hair dryer not a shower cubicle shower over the bath

Cute, friendly, clean, the steak was delicious, overall a great stay and for the price it exceeded my expectations. I booked a single room but arrived to a comfortable double bed!! I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you.
I had to ask a few times for condiments for the meal , some thinner sheets in the room would have been great as I was really hot but these are not a huge problem as i still enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

House was lovely and clean
We didn't receive bfast as paid for and no discussion about a refund for it. Bathroom had a shower head but couldn't stand up in shower as ceiling low. Doors small and partner banged his head going into bathroom.

Beautiful location and very close to Ruthin centre. The staff were more than happy to order us a taxi and when we got back at night it was a fun place to be.
Can’t fault it due to the price.
