Loved everything about this hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by all the staff with lovely , happy smiles and they were so helpful and welcoming. Room was lovely and breakfast was fabulous.
Nothing to dislike

The decor and the service. The staff are so pleasant and very good breakfast

Good location just 5 minutes from Naas. Beautiful place with very hospitable staff. Our room was spacious and we really enjoyed the swimming pool.
Lovely breakfast, unfortunately there were no fresh vegetables. Delicious pancakes.
Logistics inside the hotel is horrible. The idea that you have to take a lift up then pass 2 corridors, then take another lift down just to get from the reception to the room killed all the mood. And it’s the same with getting anywhere in the hotel.
This place definitely needs refreshment, bathroom in the room was pretty tired of life.
Shower in the SPA was extremely hot (and you can’t change it) and out of shampoo and conditioner at 11am. Few things in hydrotherapy zone were out of order.
No hair conditioner in the room. Cosmetics has pretty strong smell which I didn’t like.

Lovely old style venue. The Pippen cafe is beautiful.

Safely as was travelling alone.
Bedroom was not warm. Bedrooms are far away from restaurant/bars - as result of hotel layout.

All the staff, without exception, were wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone was friendly. My room was clearly a double even though I had booked a single, and it was lovely and big. Room service breakfast was the best food I had during my stay - the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was to die for. I used the spa and it was fabulous; you MUST NOT miss that if you stay.
The room showed signs of wear and tear, as did one or two other areas of the hotel. Having worked in luxury hotels myself for over a decade, that's the sort of thing people notice. Just a little more attention to detail is needed. There's no fridges in the rooms. The food in the Oak & Anvil restaurant is ok but no more than that. I'd give it maybe a 6/10. None of these things spoiled my stay though.

We went for a one night spa weekend to de-stress after a stressful week for my partner.
We didn't want to do any spa treatments and just wanted to relax by the pool. We were told we would have pool access but it turns out that there are two pools, one in the spa and another in a very busy public gym.
On arrival at the spa, we were told there was no access to the spa pool as it was booked out so we ended up spending 540 euro in total for a day at a very busy gym. Several groups in the gym pool area said they had the same issue and communication from the hotel was not clear on this.
I'd recommend booking Powerscourt instead. I will next time.

Room was a great size. Bar area very comfortable and not too noisy. Service was very good. Food was OK nothing special.
Room was too warm despite no radiator being on and window was open. Would recommend installation of air conditioning to better regulate temperature in room.

the property is set on lovely grounds and kept neat and tidy
bed not great, no glasses for drinking, shower thermostat not working. also if you use the spa nowhere tells you that you need your room key to return back into the hotel. You have to access different lifts to get to our room. The steam room and Sauna coming from male changing could be doing with being repaired. had to use the facilities outside the ladies changing rooms
8.0 / 10.0
zero sound proofing at the doors to the room, not great when guests have been in the residents bar and decide to wake up the entire corridor
9.0 / 10.0
Staff were excellent. The hotel and its rooms were spacious and of a high standard of presentation.
The interior building upgrades made travel within the hotel difficult.
