In a good area, clean tidy rooms
Breakfast was a disaster! Waiting almost an hour for the cooked breakfast. And no bacon on one of them! Was asked if we wanted tea or coffee, we said tea but got coffee! Then got tea but no butter for bread, asked twice for it, eventually had to rob some from a table. Then our tea was cold when breakfast was served, had to look for a fresh pot! In fairness to the girls they were busy, definitely could do with more staff!

Room
The dinner was very average unfortunately. And the dining room itself is not nice at all with the tiles doesn’t work

Breakfast, great choice. Room, large, beds comfortable. Location, off the beaten track but attractions nearby.
Nothing.

The Quiet Location, In the Village.
And the close proximity to Powerscourt.
To be honest, one observation.
As a single occupant, I slept in the Double Bed.
On vacating, a rule I have I always strip the Bed, that I have slept in.
I don't wear Fake Tan, and the sheet would appear to have tan stains on at the Feet area, I would not have seen on getting into Bed.
I didn't say anything on check out, In the review I feel I should.
A theory, maybe the previous Occupant., Had made the Bed up and it looked to the staff that the room was serviced.
I in no way want to make a complaint.

Well located for Dublin and Wicklow, good choice of nice quality natural breakfast items, ample parking and a relaxed atmosphere
One of the bedroom windows wouldn't open and the room got quite hot as a result

Breakfast was delish and there was a good selection of fruits, cereals, pastries and full breakfast fry with tea or coffee
Needed more pillows for the bed as the room was big and bed was spacious

Second time stay this year and given the same room! Noticed the bathroom had been modernised with a lovely power shower. Breakfast buffet was an excellent array of deliciousness and hot food was cooked to order. Evening meal menu had lots of choice and reasonable.
Restaurant/Bar staff friendly - reception staff could have been more motivated

We liked everything, from our initial check-in, to our check-out on departure. Our room was so spacious, our dinner and breakfast were fantastic, the choice was immense.
The views from the location were fabulous.

Location perfect with a 5 min walk to the village!- rooms comfortable - ask for a room on an upper floor
Food in restaurant for dinner not great - would eat in the village rather than the hotel restaurant - eggs Benedict for breakfast bland - also should note that hotel courtyard rooms being used to house refugees

Hotel cancelled our room with no reason.. said if we didnt move to their sister hotel they would cancel booking. We had to go with where they put us because we were attending a wedding on new years eve and would find it difficult to find room elsewhere. They hotel we were put in was not of the standard I paid for.:.same price: staff on phone cancelling room was very rude..I would never reccomend summerhill hotel as your room an be cancelled at short notice we had booked that hotel because we were attending wedding at powerscourt hotel and is was very close by. We were moved to an hotel in Bray which was a 15 minute car drive. I was not at all happy with summerhill hotel or booking .com..whats point in booking through bookings.com when hotel can just cancel like that.
