When we checked in to the hotel and went to our various rooms, I was greeted by an Overwhelming bad smell in the room, (508), the stench was not unlike dead rodent or similar. I alerted the staff and the receptionist came up to the room with me and agreed 100% that there was a stench in the room but couldn’t explain it. . The hotel was booked out so we couldn’t change rooms. When I went for a freshen up shower the water-was frozen. I went back down to the receptionist who told me there was a problem with the boiler and a plumber was due,, so I Had to have a freezing cold shower. When I went to bed later that night, I left the window open wide, all night in the room to try leave the smell out so I was frozen all night. When I checked out the following morning, the lady at reception told me they were going to try fix the smell in the room, by repairing the drains etc. I didn’t even receive an apology or a gesture of goodwill. What a terrible pity as the food in the hotel was great snd we had a good night otherwise. The location is fantastic too. What a disaster, even if I had an all policy and a little gesture or reduction in fee I would have been happy: I will fever ever return to that hotel and I will let all my colleagues, family and friends just how I was treated. What a pity 🥲

The hotel was set in a lovely setting with comfortable rooms. It was full of charm with beautiful windows and a lovely staircase down to the bar. A very comfortable and relaxing stay.
We didn’t dislike anything as the location was perfect to explore some of the stunning attractions on the island.

Great location, surroundings, steeped in history. Comfortable clean bed, powerful hot shower.
Dusty bathroom, black mould on shower tray, rough paint job and siliconing in bathroom, needs a bit of attention.

The boys loved the split level room.
There seemed to be a bit of a miscommunication between booking.com and the hotel regarding the dates of our stay.
We had a confirmed booking with booking.com for 29-31 July; however, the hotel were under the impression that our booking was 28-30 July. Thankfully the room was available for the original dates of 29-31 July and we had a lovely stay.

Charming Hotel with lots of character. Great location and the attached restaurant was convenient and delicious!
The room was a little small with 1 double and 2 single beds.

Everything. They had live music one night. The receptionists were most helpful. The food was good and well prepared. The location was beautiful. It's on my list of places to return to.
Nothing.

Great selection of food
Very accommodating as we were late checking in and requested a late sitting for food in a big group of people (11 in total)

location
hotel badly in need of update, shabby, public bathrooms reeked.
booked a “superior double room with sea view”. room was tiny, tiny window with side view of the sea but mostly of a run down overgrown house. television wasn’t working properly and was tiny, tap in sink screeched when turned on,. when I questioned if it was the right room, was told the hotel didn’t have superior rooms and that booking . com had made an error! so disappointing!

Lovely staff, very accommodating.
Great location on the front.
Parking outside the front of the hotel (public)
Reasonably priced food
Thin walls, I could hear everything from the room next door.

location is amazing. the room was brilliant.had a boutique feel to it. second time I’ve stayed here and definitely won’t be the last.
our room was right over the bar and the music was pretty loud. but it was a bank holiday weekend and we had a 15 month old with us, otherwise I would of been down in the bar !! my own fault for not asking for a room away from the noise. so can’t really blame hotel for that to be fair.

The location is great. The room we were in is small, but cosy and with a seaview.
It's good value.
The restaurant was only ok. The fish was tasty and really fresh, but the dish itself wasn't great and the choice is limited. Choice for dessert was limited, but the apple tart was nice.
Breakfast was fine.

The hotel is right across the street from the water on an island. The room was cute and there were two twins. The front desk was nice and helpful. The food was excellent.
The water pressure left something to be desired and there was a drainage issue as well in the sink and shower. There was a wedding that evening and it was really loud. In addition the ferry was shut down from the island and nobody had mentioned that which would have been nice. The bar staff and wait staff were sorely understaffed for the amount of people staying there for the wedding which made us have poor service. I felt for them as well.

The hotel has a nice, old fashioned feel to it but in a good way. I loved that our room was over looking the little harbour.
The mould. There was black mould all over the window and even the pillows smelled moulded.
