Very close to the train station and the main street. Free tea and biscuits too. The couple running the place are lovely and friendly

•Amazing family and hospitality!(We had tea/coffee every morning. Master took us to the bus station and waited with us.)
•Best location(5mins walk to the station and 3mins walk to city center, bus stop is in front of the hotel)
•There is local restaurant just across the street.they have best curry in the city and very cheap! Don't go the fancy one.
I know it's out of their control ,but dogs are barking in the midnight. It scared me.

Absolutely loved this place. As soon as you arrive, the lovely couple who own the property offer you tea and coffee. They are so lovely, warm and welcoming. They make you feel like family. The bedroom is really clean and homely and the fan keeps you nice and cool all night. The hotel is a 4 minute walk from the train station and Ella is just beautiful. The lovely owners made us a beautiful breakfast the next day (free of charge), alongside tea, coffee and variety of fruits. They asked us where we were going next and sorted our bus out for us and where to get it from, free of charge.
100% recommend this hotel!
Nothing - everything was really great!

The host were extremely nice, they cook meal for us and even gave us a free meal. The host even help us get the train ticket to Kandy. Most importantly they have a very fast internet which helped us work without any problem, we work remotely.

We arrived late in the evening, the couple welcomed us with tea, cookies and bananas, They were so attentive and it was important to them that we feel comfortable our every request was answered positively, the room was clean and big, the atmosphere is lovely, close to everywhere, the husband bought us train tickets, even bought me cough medicine, on the last day they equipped us with clean Sri Lankan cookies and made us coffee, they lovingly helped with everything we asked for, no doubt we will come back again, Really recommended.
All good

A very sweet little place to stay. The owners are a gorgeous, generous friendly couple who are always smiling and ever so helpful. The room was small but comfortable and very clean. As was the shared guest spaces. The Inn is in a good location, close to everything. This place has a lovely vibe which makes it such a nice place to stay. On our last morning our hosts gave us a free breakfast and it was huge and the banana pancake was sooo good. Our host also carried my heavy pack to show us the shortcut to the station he showed us where to wait for the train on the platform....the warmth and kindness of our hosts was very lovely. This little is place is not fancy, but it is value for money if you are on a budget. Would highly recommend!

They treated us nicely. Owner even explained the surrounding nicely drawing a sketch. True sri lankan hospitality. Will visit there again.
Bedding seemed not clean

The place is cute, just a few rooms around a sheltered courtyard. Best wifi I've experienced in Sri Lanka, 80mbps. The owner was really friendly and helpful
The place is older so kinda worn around the edges, like the lighting in the room was one wall light.

The couple that run this hotel are amazing!
So friendly, welcoming and hospitable. They bend over backwards to get you anything you need. Breakfast was delicious, bed comfy and shower was hot. In a great location for everything as well
Would definitely recommend! Thank you so much

Just pure hospitality. Owner is a sincere person and will help you with everything you need: draw a map on piece of paper (true story), give contact of guide, rent a bike, store your backpack until evening, etc. Beautiful apartments and awesome breakfast: banana pancake with omlette.

Delicious breakfast, uncredibily friendly owners, cute cat! Owner even helped with buying my train ticket.
Since the accommodation is directly next to the street and train station, it can get noisy there.

Breakfast was excellent. Bed was comfortable - mosquito net, shower fine.
On a slightly busy road - fumes from vehicles.

After trudging up hill after hill in Kandy to get anywhere - I wanted the most convenient location possible in Ella - and Ella Tunnel was perfect as everything is nearby. The WIFI is especially good compared to most places in Sri Lanka. The breakfast here is legendary. And this host is THE most.

Hosts were perfect, one of the most polite and friendly people we have met in Sri Lanka. We were leaving early in the morning and they offered us perfect banana pancake, omelette, coffee and fresh juice. They also managed for us reserved seats in train to Kandy.
Cleanliness of the rooms was really poor, but for the price you cannot expect anything extra. The smell of bed and pillows was really bad. But be glad you have shower for yourself :-)

We had a really good time! Owners are very friendly and nice, they helped us with everything.
Perfect breakfast for only 550 lkr, which is really worth the money.
It is a little bit noisy, because it is right at the main road. However, during the night it is okay, we had no problem with sleeping.

The breakfast was great and huge every single morning. Amazing banana pancakes!

Location was great, breakfast was best one so far. Banana pancakes was to die for and you pay 450LKR pp only. The breakfast is truly big so they are happy to wrap it up for you to take away to keep nibbling through during your long hikes.
The bathroom didn't feel very clean and there was a weird shower setup.. two showers one with boiling hot water and the other with cold water. We weren't sure what we were meant to do with them but we tried putting them close to try and get the right temperature but yeah... No. Lol
We also were not a big fan of the owner (even tho being a lovely man) overcharging us with the scooter. Most places in Ella you get a scooter for 24 hours for 1500LKR and he charged us for using the scooter at 6am the next day (even though we had rented the scooter at 10am) an extra 500LKR. We didn't say anything at the time but is definitely something it didn't go unnoticed.
We also had an incident where our helmet was stolen from under the scooter seat (seat was a little broken and wouldn't always lock properly) so we told him and he said no problem and then when getting the final bill for our stay he added 2400LKR extra for the helmet even though it was definitely not our fault, we argued this one back and agreed to pay half but again.. some more cheeky added charge at the end which is a shame as it has been the only real thing that disappointed us about the place. The rest was just part of travelling on a budget.

Good location and friendly staff
It really was as the other reviews say. You get what you pay for but basic hygiene is totally lacking especially in the bathroom.
