Excellent property from Taj in Coonor. An old mansion expanded and upgraded to luxury hotel. We stayed in Deluxe room and was spacious to accomodate a family of 4. The buffet breakfast which was complimentary had wide spread of items. Property is strategically located and away from traffic and noise. The staff from front office, through restaurant to housekeeping always welcome you with a smile are were really welcoming and available at service. Worth mentioning the help and guidance extended by Management trainee Subhakesh. He was very cordial, guided and even walked us to some nearby attractions outside property. He explained the history of mansion and helped us plan our itinerary during our stay at the property.
Though the rooms were spacious with all amenities the bathroom had some issues. The drainage was partially clogged leading to water lodging inside bathroom. Also power disruption happened couple of times during stay and backup did not kick in instantaneously. Be prepared to stay in darkness for a while. Restaurant charges seemed to be not value for money as the rates felt highly overpriced.

The staff were very warm and FAND B was exceptionally welcoming.

Location was amazing… green and secluded. The staff was amazing. Friendly and welcoming. Always with a smile and ready to help. This is a must do again experience.
Loved everything about the property

Well Dinner choices could be better since it’s coming under Taj group
Room was warm, better to provide A/Cor Room cooler during summer months

I believe the best part of the property is the location and its staff. Few of their front managers are very caring and overwhelming. This place is nice for people who want to spend time to introspects or be with family to spend quality time. As such Conoor is not as happening as Ooty so best way to use your time is to spent time in property as they have many outdoor and indoor activity organised on daily basis. Rooms are very limited which means very less people around u..
I believe property is under renovation and hence there are little struggle in some rooms as mine was a 100 yr old room which has its own challenges but as soon as i raise this concern, their team change my room asap to take care of my comfort but still I feel to go after 3/4 months once the renovation works completed.
One thing which really disappointment me is the food.. Very limited option and at one time I have to go out and explore some outside food. I believe this is where they should increase their attention although they have some amazing drinks which you can enjoy at their bar..

Everything. I loved everything about this place. The people, food, location. Everything was perfect. The best part is they are truly pet-friendly and which is why I will recommend them to everyone.
Nothing that I did not like. I wish it was little more budget-friendly. But it’s still great!

Great location and property. Nice rooms, good tea, good breakfast.
TV connection had issues despite constant intervention. Walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors quite clearly.
Some snootiness by the hotel since we were traveling extensively by auto for local commute because we had older people with us and kids who loved their auto rides and they stopped us at the gate once upon the "GMs" orders.

Customer service and food; beautiful property, absolutely serene and refreshing!
Breakfast was mediocre , bakery didn't feel fresh

The staff is excellent and really helpful and polite ... they took care of the smallest ask with a smile. The restaurant and breakfast was excellent too.
The room could be better maintained - we noticed cracks in the ceiling and the walls.
We had a problem with excessive smoking right outside our non-smoking room - this feedback was provided to the hotel as well

Breakfast spread was good
No spa.
Bar could have been better

cleanliness , location , good food, nice garden
small room for the money they charge when compared to other Taj hotels .
The staff need to warn guests not to park car in the front area . after a rain , my car was full of dust from the tree in front .

location and old world charm
initially we were shown a dingy room n other choice they said was a refurbished room n when we choose the refurbished room there was this strong enamel paint smell n work dust n I developed allergy . But the good part was the staff reacted fast n moved us to a better location n room
They should have at least told us about the fresh painting going on

Had a wonderful time with family. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and the hotel management and staff made it so special.
The place is spectacular with manicured lawns and this big beautiful purple bougainvillea tree as the main attraction. The place had an old world charm to it.
The hotel management and staff deserve top marks in hospitality. They provided some good guidance to us about touring the place.
The food was delicious and wholesome. The waiting staff was very attentive and alert, ready to assist.
The housekeeping staff cleaned the room very professionally and even decorated it for our anniversary, very sweet of them.
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay thanks to the hotel management and staff who made it that way.

Liked · Staff: friendly and helpful. In particular, thanks to the kitchen staff for specially preparing ragi dosas for breakfast each morning (not on the regular menu). A few of them also played football with my kids in the lawn - which they thoroughly enjoyed. Heritage: The heritage aspect of the property is lovely though, to my point below, you can’t fully enjoy it at the moment as the hotel is under renovation. Food: The food is excellent. Good variety on the menu - and they are always open to adapting to your needs. The staff in the dining hall are really friendly. A shout out to Simantha (thanks for the ragi dosas :)) and to the piano artist who entertained us with lovely music every evening. The magic show arranged by the hotel was excellent - really skilled magician!
Disliked · 1. Cacophony on the lawns: Our last evening really ruined the whole experience. A sound system was set up in the lawns for a private group that checked-in. They played LOUD (like really head-throbbing loud) music for several hours and only stopped after we threatened to call the police after 10pm. Later, we were told that the property doesn’t even have a license for playing music - so it was allowed illegally. The whole point of coming to a resort like this is to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city and get close to nature and enjoy its serenity. We didn’t pay these prices to be thrown into the middle of someone else’s dance party. Terrible experience and totally not expected at a Taj property!
2. Hotel under renovation: a significant portion of the hotel is under renovation, so you only get partial use of the property. This was not informed to us at the time of the booking.
3. Pre-arrival, we tried many times to get a confirmed transport vehicle to bring us from Coimbatore to Coonoor. After trying many times, someone finally picked up the phone and promised to send the driver contact

There’s a lot to not like! From badly designed health faucets to cramped rooms, noisy construction at the hotel and many more..
