Beautiful, the rooms were large and spacious, Brit coffee maker, and coffee. Dinner was delicious and not overpriced. Mud was solid and soothing.
Beds were firm, needed milk for coffee. Breakfast was ok. Hot springs were not hot enough.

Every detail was considered on such a beautiful property with wildlife so close by.
Incline was great exercise but shuttle service was always available for those unable to climb. The road leading to the property was hard on the car with many potholes and washboard gravelly roads but definitely worth it!

The location, the hotel staff and all the flora and fauna.
Nothing.

The staff were tremendous. They were very welcoming and seemed to really enjoy their jobs---both the hotel staff and wait staff in the restaurant. I left my iPad in the room and they tried very. hard to immediately contact me by phone and then worked with me to arrange to send it to my home. It arrived safely. They went above and beyond in wanting to make certain we had a good time. We hiked a mile or so above the resort in the canopy and saw vultures, toucans and animals. The restaurant was excellent.

Beautiful setting. Impeccable room s.
It’s steep. Did not love sheets.

Its a magical place and everything is very nice and amazing. A must visit in CR! The rooms are big and very clean, pool is huge, tropical and has a swim up bar with delicious drinks and snacks, The hot springs and spa are wowwwwww. Food was very good (but a little expensive)

Nice location , good spa facilities

The grounds were spectacular and we loved the birds.
Could hear the family talking next door and at night.
The pools were too far from our room.

The property is beautiful and the vibe is very chill. The pool area, the sauna, mud bath, hot springs/thermal baths were fabulous - and all included. Breakfast was also included daily and it was really good, with hot and cold options.
We stayed in a bungalow, which sleeps 4 people, but there were only two upholstered chairs for seating in the bungalow. Seems like there should be 4 chairs.

food + room wasn’t very clean.

The location
Breakfast was good but the dinner was the worst we had during our 3 weeks in Costa Rica (quality and quantity).

piece of heaven on earth!
one of the staff which seemed
to be higher manager type, was rude, the rest were the most lovely!
the road to the hotel was quite bumpy!

We had just arrived from Canada and drove the road on three hours sleep. It was quite the venture and definitely woke us up. We did not have an SUV and managed fine. Upon arrival we were all completely wowed by the location and the buildings, etc.. in some ways it was like a movie set… spectacular grounds location.
It was hilly, which took some getting used to, but that was also what added to its beauty. The vistas were worth it.

Lovely Property!! well maintained, amazing landscape and a gorgeous pool.
In the reviews a lot of people complains about the road. Yes! the last 25 minutes on the gravel road can be annoying but it is totally worth it once you get there. You totally forget about the road once you're there.
The other thing is that dinner is a hit or miss. we had a table for 4 and only one place was good. breakfast on the other hand was great!

Great village hotel built into the heart of the rainforest. The pool area and hot springs are amazing.
We did a horse tour to the Waterfalls with Fernando. The tour was great and Fernando a super guide, but don't expect idyllic blue water ponds (specially during the Green season).
The last 12km of the road to get there is unpaved, but don't worry, just take your time ;)

Liked · Beautiful property, landscaping. Volcanic mud and steam pools were fabulous and picturesque. It was the perfect end to our experience in Costa Rica. Being a little over an hour to the airport put us closer to the airport the morning we were leaving. I can’t say enough nice things about the staff. The person at reception, our waiter at dinner and breakfast (same person for dinner and breakfast) did everything they could to make our experience fabulous. Very professional with a little humor. We were not an easy group but the food was wonderful and we loved our meals there. Loved our dinner and the included breakfast was lovely and timely. Both meals we kept changing things and he rolled with it and got everything right for us. Try the salami desert, it was delicious. The shuttle drivers were also spot on. They came right away whenever we called or prearranged a ride to the pool or restaurant or to bring up our luggage and could not have been nicer. Then there was Philippe, our guide for the hike to the waterfall. It was our pleasure to meet him and have him as our guide to the waterfall. We lost a day of our trip because of the airline and we had not had time for a hike. The reception and Philippe made that happen last minute the morning we were leaving at 6:30am we squeezed in a hike to two spectacular waterfalls. Probably usually takes 1.5 hours. We might have run a little. I’m not used to paying for a short hike and was hesitant. But it was well worth it for us. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. I hope I get to go back.

Beautiful location surrounded by nature.
Some trails and facilities were closed.

Amazing but remote…
Not a negative but be prepared for the adventure of getting to the resort…

Perfect to stay with the kids and just stay on the property some days and enjoy the scenery and the vulcanic activities, food and animals.
Seen coati's, toucans, porcupine and many other animals such as howler monkeys and spidermonkeys on the property. Even from the pool.
Nice hotspringpool and mudbath.
Big pool.
Affordable activities.
And the staff is great. The restaurant is really of a good quality. Maybe a bit more than the usual but the food is better then usual. And on a very unusual place in the middle of the jungle 30mins from the nearest tows next to a vulcone, so whats to complain!
Just as beautifull there as the ricon vulcono NP/
In our 6 weeks this was in the top 3 places we stayed.
The road to it is a bumpy road for about 25mins so not really suited to do trips from this place.
Prefer to just stay a few days there and enjoy everything there is instead of driving of for a trip for sure.

This is a spectacular property tucked away up the mountain with superb staff all around! There is about 13km gravel road with potholes strewn about (Costa Rican massage!), but take your time and enjoy the views. Promise, it is totally worth it!! We have stayed here twice now, once in July '22 and again in Aug. '22 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay both times. We enjoyed all the amenities and the massages and horseback riding were our favorites. Felipe and Navidad were excellent trail guides! This is a wonderful place for everyone, couples, families, and honeymooners alike as it is a small property but nicely layed out.b Most casitas/cottages are separate structures so you are not sharing a wall with anyone which is great. We stayed both times in a Junior Suite and they are huge. The property is very hilly but if you prefer, a shuttle ride is always available and just a phone call or WhatsApp message away. And they are quick! We have traveled the world and we now include this on our favorites list!

Pretty much everything. Seriously. Top of the list, though: the serenity, the beauty of the landscape, the trees, the lagoon pool, the swim up bar, the friendliness of EVERY staff person we met, the affordability and value of the 4 senses tour, the thermal pools, the ceiling of our room, Giovanni, Ior, and Luis at the pool and ziplines, and all the villas on the hillside.
Two things (which I'm reluctant to mention because they didn't impact the quality of our stay): the mirror in our room was ready for an upgrade, and the varnish on the doors and windows had been painted on the window panes, as well.
Also, screens would be nice to have in the room, but the bugs were really minimal and it worked well for us to just keep the white curtain closed over the open door because the fresh air felt so good, especially after the rain.

the grounds were out of this world.
very dark rooms, quite steep hills if you are located at the back of the complex
