Beautiful, well-maintained grounds. The bungalow was beautiful and spacious. Lovely balcony and hammocks. Included breakfast which was very nice, menu style. Staff were really helpful. They made some inquiries for us for visiting an eco-reserve.
We had wifi issues throughout our stay but seemed to be a one-off event caused by the internet provider. The first evening we arrived, the hot springs were lukewarm but then the following night they were hot, so not sure what happened there. We knew the hotel was a bit of a drive from La fortuna and arenal volcano (30 or so minutes) when we booked. It ended up being not so great as we felt really far away from restaurants and diverse options.

Our first day in Costa Rica had its challenges, but upon arriving at the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by the kindness and assistance of the staff. Despite our initial fatigue, we quickly enjoyed the magnificent pool, private jungle trek, and relaxing on-location hot springs. Even with our 7-year-old daughter in tow, we felt secure thanks to the safe environment provided by the hotel. Thanks to them, we were able to shake off the travel fatigue and truly start enjoying our holiday.
The hotel is located a bit far from La Fortuna, with transportation costing USD$45 one-way. However, if you book activities through their reception, which incidentally offers some of the best experiences we had in Costa Rica (the horseback riding expedition is unparalleled), they provide free transportation. For peace of mind and because of the exceptional quality of these experiences, I highly recommend booking all activities through their friendly reception. Additionally, if you plan to visit La Fortuna, they can arrange transportation for you, ensuring both safety and access to one of the best drivers we encountered during our entire trip.

Everything…..family owned and they made you feel like your a part of their family. Beautiful grounds and great location

Loved the uniqueness of the place, tropical, family owned, off the beaten path, more isolated and gave you the tropical quiet feel. Bungalows were modest but perfect for what we needed. The property is very spread out and they have golf carts to take you around.
A bit hard to find as first timers to the area. Outside of la fortuna by at least 30 minutes so if you want to be where the action is downtown plan accordingly. That was not our intent so it didn’t impact us at all. Their website did not have enough descriptions about their facility. I think if it did they would have more people coming. Maybe that is their intent?? We loved our hidden treasure anyways.

It was a perfect place to experience nature. Really beautifully built. The host was super friendly. My children loved the place and never wanted to leave. The cute daughters of the host gifted small souvenirs to our daughters. It is such a beautiful place, fish, hen, birds proper experience in nature. I highly recommend this especially to people with children.
Everything was great.

The breakfast was simple, with only 5 or 6 options, but came with fruit, coffee, and orange juice! Pretty filling, but not a lot of variety.
It was a little far away -- we had a car, but I think many tours would not want to pick up from the property. I think a car would be necessary if you stayed here.

My stay at this hotel was simply wonderful. This place is an incredible oasis of nature, surrounded by lush vegetation and breathtaking landscapes. The attention I received from the family managing the hotel was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home, and their warmth and kindness made my experience even more special.
The hotel's restaurant was a true delight. I had the pleasure of trying one of the best cuts of meat I have ever tasted. Each bite was a burst of flavors, and the quality of the food exceeded all my expectations.
Although my stay was only for a day, I was captivated and would love to return soon. The property itself is beautiful, with impeccable maintenance. Furthermore, the owners informed me that hot springs will be available soon, which will undoubtedly be a fantastic addition for my next visit.
One of the highlights for me was the variety of animals and birds that can be observed in the surroundings. I even had the luck to see sloths, which was an unforgettable experience. The walking trails allowed me to explore nature up close and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings even more.
The bungalow experience was fantastic. It was impeccably clean and provided all the comforts I needed for a comfortable stay. I felt truly relaxed and connected with nature.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a natural and peaceful retreat. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the new additions, such as the hot springs. Without a doubt, this place has become one of my favorite destinations.
Everything was awesome

Everything! This was a great first stay in Costa Rica and a great introduction to the county. The staff was super friendly and helpful, showing us around the property and answering any of our questions. We asked for advise about what to do during our stay and we got options that were free and cheap, avoiding tourist traps and overpriced adventures. We were recommended the Asis Peoject for rescued animals where we got to spend a morning learning about Costa Rican wild life and volunteer.
Great waking up to wild life outside of our little bungalow and jungle vibes all around us. This is a very family friendly hotel but also perfect for groups of friends.
The restaurant is close and serve great food for all tastes. Breakfast was great and many options to choose from.
Overall a perfect stay with excellent staff, this family run hotel is definitely on the list of places to revisit again.
Goldcarts going by fast and loud outside the bungalows super early in the morning sometimes.

Everything about it was exceptional. Alejandro received us to a warm welcome and we were taken to our deluxe bungalow via cart, but not before being toured of the property. There's plenty to do on the property to burn some time between excursions or to simply relax. The (free) breakfasts aren't your typical hot hotel breakfasts; they are sit down and order off a menu breakfasts (and still free!) The staff were all nice. The bungalow itself was clean with daily service. 10/10
I could have stayed longer. I didn't like leaving.

The pool which was heated in the afternoon (it's not a hot spring so don't expect it to be that warm, but it was enough heated to enjoy), the well-maintained grounds, the small hiking trail, the absolutely amazing staff
You definitely need a car, a roundtrip to La Fortuna by taxi costs 60 USD. But we were aware of that before and chose the location because of nature which you will definitely get!

Beautiful grounds. experienced a sloth and toucan. Jungle view from our balcony. Clean and relaxing pool. 30 min from La Fortuna, which was fine because we loved being up on the hill away from the tourists. The staff was exceptional.
Some quirky doors and odd shower drain placement (some pooling in bathroom). The staff quickly addressed an issue we had with the door. They were quick to respond to any questions.

The staff at the Heliconias Nature Inn were great and extremely friendly. When we first arrived, we got a personal tour of the grounds- which are large (the tour was via a golf cart) with a little hiking trail in the jungle, a swimming pool, all of the cabins, the dining area etc. During the tour we saw a sloth in one of the trees having a siesta. Food was great- both breakfast and dinners. We liked our little cabin with patio and hammock too.
