Location and free parking next to city centre, co op next door, good sized comfortable room, lovely staff and nice breakfast.

Never stayed there - shabby, run down and poor welcome

I didn’t like anything, very poor standard. No warm and friendly greeting, quite rude The whole place was run down and grotty, checked in and checked straight back out again and booked somewhere else

Very basic but it’s the job - just!

Location is great. It’s cheap but you get what you pay for.

Very basic. It’s only £55 for a night but this is a very small room with an even smaller shower room and a toilet that you can’t sit on because the wall is so close.

Bed was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Could do with a clean in the dining room and entrance hall as smelt very stale and was dusty. Otherwise was a good base for touring York.

Nothing particularly other than it had a very stale odour. Old food smells.

Having to pay by cash then receiving a phone call to remind me. Dining room spread into two rooms.Having too long await sometimes to order or juice not ready upon arrival.

Convenient for the city. The room was cleaned regularly.

The shower room was very tired and needs updating. The fridge was unnecessary and because of it's location it made using the kettle difficult and dangerous.

It was a lovely stay. Staff were very helpful. It was spotlessly clean and close to centre.

Exceptional

Lovely guest house. Really great value for money as you are literally 5 minutes walk from all the action of the city! Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

A nice few days break

The location and room was ideal for our requirements. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good

TV was iffy. Not tuned properly very few channels. Minor issue as WiFi was good so we could access news etc easily

Convenient location about 20 min walk from old city wall, 25 min to York Minster. Great having off street parking. Having fridge in 'family' room was handy.

Facilities a bit tired. Water pressure to shower was disappointing.

Disappointing, at face value looked good , reality was somewhat different.

The location was great and there was car parking although very limited.

The room we were allocated was decorated from the 70s, the room was very basic and not very clean. The bed was very old and uncomfortable with ill fitting bedding. The ensuite was tiny. The whole place stank of cooking fat.

Great visit to the Xmas market

Very close to the city centre. Only 10 15 minutes away. lots of shops around. Free parking was essential would use it again.

Room clean. Mattress could be a bit firmer. TV reception a bit hit or miss.

Clean and newly refurbished bathroom, shower.

A hidden gem!

The room had everything in it I'd hoped for; towels, hairdryer, plenty of storage space, coat hangers, coffee/tee facilities, fridge etc etc. The room was quiet, and the host even provided cooling fans due to the exceptionally hot weather of late.

I didn't find the bed very comfortable but that is personal taste.

Good location about 20 minute walk to centre.

Parking was bad there was no space to park without hitting doors and when I left somebody had parked so close I could not get in and just mannaged to get in the passenger side and clim over. Not a good place if you have a decent car.
