2nd stay at the plough would highly recommend with great friendly staff

Breakfast was excellent set you up for a days sight seeing, evening meals are excellent and large portions ,the room was comfortable clean with everything you needed

Handy for city centre, great food and friendly staff.

The bar and food were fantastic. Great menu , good price and delicious.

Nice stay

All requirement was at hand in the Pub bar breakfast/Lunch/Dinner, parking was fine and a 1.5 mile walk to York city centre was ok.

Booked dinner but because the pub was busy our table was occupied by drinkers who had moved the reserved notice sign. Food was plentiful but too much at breakfast so had to be choosy when ordering.

First time stay at the plough Inn, would certainly go back.excellent !!

Excellent breakfast, and sensibly priced Dinner from an extensive menu.

Trying to think of something negative and struggling, if I was being really picky having to go outside from bar/ restuarant to our sleeping accommodation was a little annoying in inclement weather.

Fantastic place, would definitely stay there again.

A great location, a 10 min bus ride into the city with a bus stop right outside. A lovely 30 min walk along the river another day. A great room, amazing food and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Perfect for visiting York attractions

Good location. Walking distance to city centre, roughly 25 mins. However, a very good regular bus service from a stop close by. Comfortable room with king size bed, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and lovely en suite. Large breakfast served until 10.00am.

The inn was lovely, great location for our needs. the room was beautiful and clean. There were lovely touches to make it personal. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was fantastic. We would certainly recommend.

perfect little romantic getaway

the traditional style of the Plough inn is so beautiful and the bed is so comfortable. the staff could t do enough for us and were so attentive. only a short distance from the city centre made it perfect.

A great find through booking.com

the rooms were spacious, comfortable with all the amenities. The food at the pub was excellent with good variety. The staff were outstanding and couldn’t do enough for the guests.

My only little, tiny negative - the coffee (from a machine) in the pub was awful. It ruined what was a great breakfast for me. A simple cafetière would fix the issue.

beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable room. lovely and warm property, quiet and right next to a bus stop to get into York. the staff are very friendly and helpful. food was really good and nice atmosphere.

we struggled to get into the main door, the lock it very tricky.

Perfect weekend stay

The room was lovely, with a little bit of quirkiness. Plenty of room, comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The food was great, atmosphere in the pub/restaurant was welcoming. Perfect stay for us

Very busy when there. not advised table only for food so ended up having to go on to another pub after meal as our booked and no other seats.

Exceptional

It was a charming place to stay. Highly recommend it to family and friends to visit. Fascinating well-decorated room with a modern bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and the lady who served it was highly accommodating.
