Lovely room with sea view

The sea view was amazing. The place was very clean. We did have an issue getting into the property when we arrived but this was sorted out pretty quickly, a member of staff was on hand to help (easily contactable). Unique and comfortable acommodation. We would definately stay again and also recommend to others.

It’s brilliant to be rewarded for been tidy

It’s was in such a lovely location. Near the castle. The fact that there were fewer fees the tidier you are. It’s so lovely to be rewarded for been neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend it and will definitely stay here again x

The stairs 😂. Probably the most exercise I’ve done forever 😂.

Disappointing

Nice view of north bay. But my room pokey at the back with a view of the back street.

NO TV In the room. Codes for the bathroom door which was more than inconvenient. ONE POUND for each towel used. Bed not even made up. Just sheets left on the bed for you to have to make up the bed yourself

Great location. Basic but clean. Although there is no reception there is always someone at the end of the phone, very polite too.

The window in my room was high up so I could only just see the outside world which is a shame because it was a lovely sea view. Door lock could do with WD40! I struggled when locking and unlocking my door.

Ok for a weekend

I book this hostel as a last resort. The staff sent me a text message with the codes & room number in it at 14.00 pm on the day I was due to arrive. One code was for the door. The other code was for opening the box on the wall for your room keys. The boxes on the wall were all numbered. Opening my room door wasn't too much of a problem. Room was clean. Bathroom was also clean. There was a code inside my room to use the bathroom. I taken my own duvet with me. I also taken my own Quick dry towels with me . I left them £5.00 for the cleaning of my room. I did like the tiles in the shower

Mattress was squeaky at night time. Location wasn't ideal. Very little furniture in my room. Had a few problems finding this hostel. Towels are supplied by the hostel but will charge you for using theirs. Bed wasn't made. You had to make your own bed. No TV in my room. No ensuite rooms. It took over 30 seconds in a morning to get any hot water in the bathroom sink . I would only stay at this hostel again as a needs must

Lovely room, with a gorgeous view, all very clean and clear instructions on where everything is and what you need to do. Very quick responses to any queries.

Book the sea view. Value for money! Make sure you all the information before booking

The sea view from the room was superb. The bed was comfy & the room size was good.

Unfortunately I did not read all the information before I booked, so what not aware that I would have to make up the bed, that towels come at an extra charge (£1 each) Parking permit was £1, No TV and as the hotel is eco friendly, if you do not clean up after yourselves, i.e. wipe down the bathroom, strip the bed, empty the bins etc. there are charges for these as well. I also did not realise that £30 deposit is also required, so that any cleaning expenses/parking etc. that is required post your departure will be covered (you do get this refunded very quickly if no charges are applicable)

Over in no time, it seems.

The view from the window was Old Scarborough from above. The front of the house was North bay with the swells rolling in every fifteen seconds. Other features were spartan but functional.

The Herring Gulls are not endangered at all! They've all moved to Scarborough and took up Avian Opera.

Basic room for a comfy place to sleep

All the extra cleaning required after the cost of a basic room. Then worry if anything wasn't at the standard they expect so would get charged for it from the deposit.

Nice location.

The location cannot be faulted. Right on the North Bay. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Shower was clean. The self check in was very straightforward. I found contacting the host easy. WiFi signal was spot on. Streamed film on my phone no problem. It was actually refreshing not having to listen to other people's T.V's blaring from other rooms! No t.v makes for peace and quiet if that's what you want. The option to bring own towel and bedding was very eco friendly and like the host says keeps the room cost down.

Nothing really. Just read the terms and conditions before you book and that way you know exactly what you are getting.

This was a good reminder to read the hotel policies before booking

The view from my room was so beautiful, really stunning.

Putting my own bedding on and taking it off. Having to take my own rubbish or be charged £3. £1 to rent a towel. The policy I read said I needed to clean the room myself or leave money to cover what I hadn't cleaned, for example £1 to hoover the floor, £1 to wipe the sides. If I didn't leave enough I'd be charged an admin fee. Okay but then I believe there should be a staff nember there to agree the fee with me on leaving. I felt I had to leave extra to avoid the fee and hassle of this. Also because of this I didn't feel I could trust the room had been thoroughly cleaned, as I was trusting the occupants before me. The hotel took extra money out of my account as a deposit, it was returned though. I didn't like the smell of the hallway. I didn't find the hotel welcoming or helpful.

Superb

You get what you pay for, bed was comfty and everything worked fine witha great view. You have to clean up to avoid extra fees, which is what makes the price cheaper. The host was understanding when I needed to add an extra guest while I was there. If you're in the same situation have somebody else over make sure to contact the host before hand to avoid penalty fee 😉🙂 thanks, maybe visit again in future.
