Shila was great, nothing seemed to be a problem, excellent host. staff were great and food with good portion size.
Off road parking for motorcycle..
Large room space
Noisy room neighbours.
Small issue with a shower, but no hassle and Shela appreciated being told.

This turned out to be a great place to stay for the night. In my planning for our trip I was looking for a spot that was roughly half way between Donegal and Dublin that had an interesting place to stay. The Keepers Arms filled that bill. The room was pleasant, the beds comfortable, and good water pressure in the shower. The building is located near the main crossroads of the village (not that there was much traffic, but there were quite a few tractors passing through) but the noise of the traffic disappeared once we closed the windows for the night. We had chosen in advance to have dinner in the pub that evening since there was no other option nearby and the menu on line looked pretty good. When we were seated (we were the only diners at first, later to be joined by a local couple and a gentleman who came in for a pint) we were told that the kitchen was out of steak and fish. That left cheese burgers and chips for us, which were pretty good.
Towards the end of our meal we met Sheila, the owner of the place. She was very welcoming and suggested that we take advantage of the two more hours of daylight by taking a drive out to the nearby sights. So we took the short drive to Tullydermot Falls which had recently had its parking area and walkway to the falls updated. The falls are likely very impressive when there was water flowing but there had been a lack of rain but it was still a pretty spot. We then drove up to the Altachullion Viewpoint, a spot at the top of a hill that had a parking area about the size of half a football pitch. It was very apparent that the nearby flock of sheep had spent time enjoying the views for one really had to watch their step in the parking lot.
In the morning we were served a wonderful, full Irish breakfast cooked to order by Sheila. It is obvious that Sheila has a deep love for her place and for showing her guests the warm hospitality that the Irish are known for.
It would have been great to have all of the offerings available that were on the dinner menu, but the burgers and chips were very good.

Most welcoming experience. Stay here if you are in the area! Owners, staff and locals, you will not find friendlier and more welcoming people anywhere. Also good value for traveler. Full breakfast, good bar food. Spend your evening at the bar for conversation.

Clean, nice breakfast the following morning
A bit over priced for what you get, building a bit dated and in the middle of no-where.

Amazing breakfast, its a good location near to many attractions around this place. It is also very close to the UK border. There you can find best pint of Guinness and you have car park on the spot.

Very welcoming and chatty, comfortable room with easy access to car park. Helped with local tourism guides.
Noise from kitchen ventilation fan during the day (not at night). UHT milk for tea and coffee was ‘off’.

Sheila is very nice and pleasant host. She greeted us and gave a really good map of touristic attractions and even information info on a place that only local know about. We used this info straight away. Turned out there are so many interesting places in Co. Cavan. The room was clean. Tasty Irish breakfast in the morning. Hotel is kids friendly. Sheila was concerned about the noise from the bar, but we heard nothing from the corner room we were in. The room had a cozy couch which was very nice to sit and watch something on a device connected to free hotel wifi.
