The location only.
Staff friendliness was poor, booking was mentioned to comment only in English or in Spanish but once on site only Spanish was okay, breakfast was poor, bedroom was okay but no air con so very very warm and keeping the window open meant fighting flies and mosquitoes all night, WiFi was not great.

Location, location, location. It is in a beautiful spot on top of the mountains about Onati. It is at the start of several hiking trails in the area, rock climbing is accessible within a 15 minute drive and the views from the room were amazing. It was comfortable and the staff was very accomodating for our work needs as well, setting up tables and chairs as an office in a spare room. The pool was well maintained and beautiful and parking was easily available. The wifi works but is not the best for video confrencing. The family that works there is very kind and pleasant.
The food. We were there for 8 days and we had dinner at the restaurant the first night and then didn't eat there again. It is very busy with lots of hikers and people coming to visit the monastery, there are a few other options nearby. The views from the terrace are beautiful but would recommend only getting drinks and bar snacks. They do offer breakfast, but after the dinner, we opted to be self-sufficient. Onati had one of the best restaurants we went to in Spain and ended up in town eating 4 out of the 8 nights.

Excellent location and view. As location in mountain air fresh. When you want spend time in silence and nature this is excellent place. Furniture from natural material. Minimum plastic (only windows).
In one room shower head not working well

A low-price, very welcome stay at the end of a long hike through the mountains. We had planned to hike as far as Aizkorri, but inclement weather meant we had to reroute to Arantzazu. Exhausted and soaked to the skin, we were happy just to have a bed for the night. I wasn't expecting much for a 1-star place, but it delivered on all fronts. The food was decent, the wine excellent, and the views the next morning were unreal.
The breakfast left a little to be desired, but I've had worse for a lot more money.

Exceptional location with an astonishing view over the mountains.
Cheap, solid food. We especially appreciated the the bottle of wine which was included in the daily menu.
Everything was clean and the staff was very helpful.
The fact that there’s is a pool at the hotel which isn’t advertised at booking.com is the cherry on the top!
Hard to access without a car.

Wonderful location and great stay! I find this place magical. We arrived quite late, around 11 pm but we still had a delicious tortilla to eat. The room was very clean and cosy. 10/10

The room had beautiful view of the mountains. Perfect silence at night. It was clean and bright. The bed was very comfortable. I liked the wood floors. Nice breakfast at a reasonable cost.
There was nothing I didn't like
