Fantastic location, great welcome - would definitely recommend

We chose the location for the distance to the ferry the next day but what a great place! It's a small town, but was really busy when we arrived on a Sunday. The owner let us park the motorbike in his garage. The bar/restaurant attached to the hotel was great. And what a fantastic ride to get there, with amazing mountain views!

A great place of quality and character that adds up to excellent value for money.

True Spanish inn, the type I was dying to stay in even before I came. A place where you eat, drink, and sleep all in one place. A place with good humour and generosity. A place with character and characters on both sides of the bar. A mix of the modern and the medieval that seems seem less in a way only the Spanish know how to do in their style.

We couldn’t stay longer.

Very good

Restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast, as well as drinks and snacks during the day. Lovely location by the Monastery and plaza. Able to store our bicycles.

Late dinner (from 9pm) for a couple of tired and hungry cyclists, and no other options in town - good food though.

A great stop over at a great price

El Rinćon is in a beautifully restored building on the corner of the square dominated my the San Salvador monastery. Our room, number 3, was the best room and looked directly across to the Monasterie. We had a very friendly welcome and enjoyed a beer and coffee in the bar on arrival. Our room and bathroom were quite small but very clean and very recently decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the heating was excellent. It was a cold January night. The chef was off but the proprietor cooked dinner for us which we ate in the bar with all the locals chatting away. In the morning the same friendly member of staff who greeted us made us breakast which we really enjoyed. Very good coffee and toast and cheese. Also very good wine with our meal for just €1.8 per glass. This is a great place to stop over in a very interesting town in a beautiful mountain region. Very good price and we would stay here again. Easy parking outside. Recommended.

Very good

It was all very nice. We really enjoyed our stay. Although Breakfast was not included there was a very nice choice of food available at the bar in the morning, so we had coffee and snacks with the locals. El Rincon seems to be a social centre for the village. Booking it again soon.

Wonderful stay, we will hopefully be coming back to stay for longer

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely old building opposite a monastery. Ramon the owner could not have been more helpful - he served us a lovely dinner one night even though the restaurant was closed - thank you Ramon, you are a very kind man!

Brilliant

Brilliant stay. Small room but lacking nothing. Spotless, very comfortable bed, great shower. Bar downstairs, good restaurant. Lovely village well worth a walk round. Bonus was parking my motorcycle in the garage.

Close to Santander and Bilbao, cheap rooms, good food and a stand-out location

A great little hotel and a perfect stop-over when coming from the ferry in either Santander or Bilbao. I last stayed there in 2018 and unbelievably the price for the room has not changed. The friendly welcome of the family who run the hotel has not changed either. They believe in having a good time with their guests.

Great little hotel in a beautiful location and region

Loved the location, and they had garage parking for the motorbikes, Delicious food in the restaurant and great pintxos at the bar. Special mention for Ramon who went above and beyond for us.

A great place for a stop over or a few nights to explore the area.

Well appointed room with view of mountains and town. Centrally located for the monastery and hiking routes. Very good food and house wine at a competitive price. The breakfast at 4 euros with toasted bread and croissants was good value. Friendly and attentive staff.

The hotel is in the city center and near by there is place to park. There are many nice towns to see near.

The hotel situated near the church and the bells of the clock in the church rings every 15min very loud.Moreover, each day at 7am the truck comes to take out the trash from the trash cans that are located near the hotel,thus it is a lot of noise in the morning.

2 oldies on bikes, loved the location and the quaint hotel (we had the pink room) great bar downstairs central to everything in the town

Charming hotel in a lovely setting

Staff were friendly and helpful and overcame any language barriers with a smile. Great location. Room clean and tidy. Food and drink good value for money. Owners arranged for motorcycle to be parked in their garage overnight.

Room was above the outside seating area/bar entrance, and could be a little noisy at times. This could be overcome if a quiet room is asked for

Clean and comfortable. In great situation in beautiful village. Kitch dining room. Very reasonable rates. Good shower. Looked newly decorated

Secure parking for my motorcycle in a locked garage. Staff were very helpful.

Wonderful find in beautiful little town

As others have commented, this is a proper little gem. Helpful friendly staff, great food (and we’re hungry cyclists) and at the end of the stunning vía verde cycle route from Burgos. Ońa was a delightful place too. One note of caution to cyclists - if you’re planning to continue North on the Vía Verde, the bridges haven’t yet been built (Oct 21). But you can route through lovely towns and countryside on quiet roads.

Perfect stopover

Perfect stopover on our way north. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and nothing was to much bother for the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel.
