I had a fantastic stay at Carraig Liath, the owner Frances is such a gem. She went out of her way to help me and my friend. Nice breakfast, beautiful room, and the location of the place is unbeatable. I will be definitely stay again on my next visit to Valentia Islands.

Lovely stay, Frances was a lovely welcoming host.
Nice breakfast to start the day.
Great location for heading out around Valentia island, Caherciveen, walking into Portmagee in the evening and heading towards Ballinskelligs.

Frances is such a wonderful host! She helped us so much and we just had a great time in her house. The house is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly situated close to Portmagee, Valentia Island and the Kerry Cliffs. Everything is in walking distance! Thank you, Frances!!!

Breakfast was pretty basic.

Location and friendliness of staff
In the room we had, it was two single beds put together. The two beds kept separating throughout the night. One of the beds was slightly higher than the other so it was extremely uncomfortable to sleep in the middle.
We left the window of the bathroom opened overnight and woke up to a ton of moths in the bathroom and room in general.
Breakfast was pretty boring, ended up getting a proper breakfast somewhere else.
The host is very sweet and kind though!

Comfy country home with a super friendly welcome. Short walk across the bridge to Portmagee and a great meal at The Moorings. This is a great base if you’re visiting the Skellig Islands. Be sure to allow time to explore Valentia Island, too. Frances gave us a great map with all the highlights (skip St. Brandon’s Well but definitely visit the Fogher Cliffs and the Slate Quarry). Continental breakfast was provided. The views are amazing and there is a lovely outdoor area for guests.

Great breakfast, simple and nutritious

Frances was friendly, easy going, communicated well and it was no issue that we were a tad later than expected. She even gave us some bread for next day to get us going. House was clean and lovely. Beds were nice. Perfect stay in Valentia.
A tiny thing was that we wanted to connect our laptop to the tv screen to watch a movie from our streaming service, but this wasn't possible. Which is completely normal, as this is not possible on most tv screens. It gave us opportunity to read and relax.

Location, scenery, host and atmosphere. Great location, walking distance to pub/restaurant/coffee shop.
The continental brefast wasn't fully as expected in irish b&b but was ok anyway.

The location of the property was perfect, very convenient for all our needs. Frances recommended dining options for us, which we could have walked to easily if we had chosen to do so.
Our continental breakfast was great and set us up for the day.
Nothing, we were very happy with everything.

The views are gorgeous. The rooms are very tidy and cosy. The location is very handy.
Basic enough breakfast, but you do get it in bed! And the toilet paper was fairly rough! That's about as bad as it gets and that's not bad at all!

Staff was very friendly. Very responsive when texting and getting in touch.
Lovely little place!
Nothing, all was great!

The location was super and our host was very helpful.

Fantastic location that enabled full access to Valentia Island as well as many nearby attractions on the mainland. Frances was an exceptional host who was so attentive and took great care of us. We couldn’t have had a better vacation, and the accommodation topped everything off. Excellent WiFi which was important to us. Beautiful view from our upstairs room.

Location
No cover on the duvet. Poor quality towels. On arrival we discovered that continental style would be the only option for breakfast due to Covid. The "croissant man's van broke down " and the breakfast was sparse and poor quality. The continental breakfast/Covid details are, we were told, on the website but we were unable to find it on our phone today.

A Fabulous place to stay. Beautiful homely bed and breakfast, spotlessly clean everywhere. Bright and beautiful decor. But the hosts are exceptional. Frances is a lady who holds great pride in providing an excellent service in her beautiful accommodation, the rooms are so spacious, beautifully decorated, to a high standard. Fabulous views from the bedroom. The bed so comfortable. Excellent shower. Beautiful fresh continental breakfast in my room. I loved my stay, wish I could have stayed longer. The location is so perfect. I will return. Kathleen O'Toole
