About this cottage rental
April Cottage is a comfortable cosy two bedroomed terrace cottage, set in the middle of the delightful village of Everton with our friendly local shop and pub offering scrumptious local produce.
Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, with only a short drive to the beaches, open forest and the charming market town of Lymington with it’s picturesque town quay, boutique shops and bustling Saturday market. The cottage has a sitting/dining room with a separate kitchen, conservatory and boot room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms (one double and one twin) with a shower room. There is a walled garden at the rear and a front garden with gravel parking for 2 cars.
Milford On Sea and Keyhaven is 'just down the road'; offering village shops, beaches, cafe's, pubs and restaurants. By taking a short walk/drive to Keyhaven, you will find a traditional pub and a beautiful walk along the sea wall, enjoying the spectacular views of the Solent, the Needles and Isle of Wight. Bird watchers will particularly enjoy the salt pans and marshes that are renowned for their bird-life. You can take a ferry from Keyhaven harbour to Hurst Castle and if you are feeling energetic you can walk back along shingle bank.
In the other direction is Christchurch and Bournemouth with long golden sandy beaches, theatres, pubs, restaurants and a buzzing nightlife.

A fine house, although we would not have named it a cottage.
It lays nice central for the sea and New Forest, and we had a nice time there.

On arrival we found the most beautiful cottage setting in lovely gardens which we found were superb.
Interior was lovely and homely.
First night was very disappointing 15 tog duvet all round far too hot
Got in touch with owners regarding summer duvet but they did not respond to direct message until late in the evening via VRBO saying no, so had to purchase our own. Only one bedside table which was inconvenient. Staying for a week so did a full shop to eat in, unfortunately no cupboard to store groceries so items had to be stored over limited worktop space.
Washing machine and dishwasher on together left a nasty stagnant smell from drain in conservatory. Filter in tumble dryer was filthy and needed a thorough clean. Fridge door had mould on outside seal, and we feel that the whole place needed a more thorough clean.
On the day of leaving we received a message from the owner informing us that they will be arriving between 9.00-9.30am to cut the grass, we said no because of the dog in the back garden. This we found very annoying as any work should be done after our 10.00am checkout.
Overall a lovely holiday was had by all, in the New Forest but will not return to April Cottage and would not recommend.

Lovely cottage - thoughtful touch with the ‘mini hamper’ and milk. The pub and shop are an easy stroll away.

The property was lovely and exceeded all our expectations. A great local pub and fantastic cornershop also came in very handy.
The pictures of the property on the website don't do it justice. The garden and house were much bigger than expected. The bed was also super comfy. We had a dog with us and apart from all the great beaches and the forest there is a park around the corner from the house, which is really handy for early morning or last minute walkies.

Delightful, cosy, comfy cottage. Sunny garden. Beautifully peaceful. Perfect for 2 or 3 max. 2nd bathroom is a downstairs loo. 3 houses away is a Londis that sells gourmet food! Short drive to beaches, surrounding areas full of beach bars and good restaurants. Very upmarket region. Time for new mattresses in the twin room-a bit uncomfortable. However-it's really lovely. Hosts lovely. We checked in a 12 because we were passing by and it seemed ready, which was fab. Everyone we met was friendly. Book this and a 3 day pottery making course at Vinegar Hill Pottery-a 5 minute drive away.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen. Very quiet location. Very Close to a village pub and a local shop. Easy to reach Mudeford beach and the heart of the new forest. Lymington is great place to browse around many different shops.

House was wonderful, very clean and tidy, with everything you need for your stay, can’t fault it in any way. Instructions for arrival and departure very clear. Our dog loved sniffing round the walled secure garden too.
Thank you very much. J&C

We enjoyed our short stay in the cottage, which provided most of what we needed to make our stay comfortable. We did have to buy our own kindling and wood so we could make a fire - there's a local shop that sells everything.

The rental was in an ideal situation, as we wanted to go on beautiful walks, and drove to Bramshaw to see the pigs, and donkeys roaming about the New Forest. In the evening we ate at the Crown, and various other nice goody pubs.
The rental was comfortable and well furnished, everything we could have wanted. Even the weather was kind to us. In all a great experience.

We had a lovely holiday in the New Forest.
Property had a great location near the National Park and beaches.
Homely and clean with an enclosed rear garden which was a plus for the family dog.
Fantastic views overlooking the Isle of Wight which was a short drive from the property
Would definitely recommend a visit and we hope to return soon.

We really enjoyed our stay in April cottage.
The cottage was more spacious than anticipated and very clean and comfortable. The beds were so comfy!
Handy to have a garden for the children to run around in.
The shower was the only thing that we would have said needs improving. It was so powerful that it kept popping out of the holder and you couldn’t adjust the power, so we weren’t able to shower the children under it. I’m the absence of a bath, that may have been useful.
The location was good. A very quiet little village with a shop and pub. No where much in walking distance, but well located for driving to places. Lymington not far at all and a lovely town.
Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage, great location
Just spent 10 days at April Cottage. Lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean and has everything you need including a cosy conservatory and a nice little garden at the back. There is a lovely pub just a couple of minutes walk away and a convenience store right on the door step.
Set in a quiet, peaceful location but has plenty of places to visit just a short drive away. There are lots of lovely villages to visit close by and easy enough to visit Christchurch and Bournemouth which takes about half an hour by car.
Would highly recommend April Cottage to anyone wanting to explore the New Forest and Dorset.
A lovely little find and we would definitely go back

Girly weekend
Liked the cottage and location. Had difficulty getting a take away delivered and many pubs closed Sunday evening. Could have done with more toilet paper and dishwasher tablets. Didn’t like having to strip the beds before we left - have never had to do that before.

Lovely stay
Very good description of cottage . Really clean, comfortable. Easy to get to forest and beaches. My only quibble is the charge of £20 per dog. There has been a hike in prices for dogs everywhere. We have been asked in other places for £100. A fairer way would be a deposit in case of damage or extra cleaning.. However a lovely stay.

Comfortable cottage in quiet location
We had a relaxing week at the cottage, which was well located and comfortably furnished. The property has everything you might need and a few welcome extras like welly stands in the entrance way and an umbrella just in case. The enclosed yard is safe for dogs and children and was a really useful feature. The beds are comfortable and the house is warm and cosy. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Lovely cottage with all you need
Great cottage with all you need for a stay in the New Forest. Handy location for local attractions, plenty to see and do nearby. The cottage is well equipped with everything you can need in a home away from home. I took my puppy with me and she was safe in the walled rear garden. The owner had even left fresh poo bags. There was a welcome basket on arrival with some supplies which was a lovely touch.
Would visit again

Clean and comfortable cottage in the pretty village of Everton. Very nice welcome basket on arrival. Nice gardens at front and back, access to laneway from back garden which takes you to the village pub in a couple of minutes walk, The Crown Inn, where we had a very nice evening meal. Village store is 2 minutes walk from the front of the cottage and it stocks everything you would need and is also a Post Office. We had beautiful weather during our late August stay so we explored the local beaches - Highcliffe, Barton-on-Sea, Milford-on-Sea and Mudeford Sands (via the ferry from Mudeford Quay) plus a day looking round the shops and having ice-cream in Lymington. The cottage was a very good base to explore this beautiful area.

Fantastic trip.
Great location for visiting the New Forest area snd coast. Cottage is delightful and very well-equipped. Larger than most two-bed traditional cottages with nice, safe garden for children to play in or just to chill out. Thoughtful extra touches: shelf of interesting books, games for the children, little hamper with bread, tea cakes, biscuits as well as tea, coffee and milk, toiletries in the bathroom. Very close to local shop snd nice pub. Definitely on our list for a return trip!

Just what we needed
We have just reluctantly returned home after a wonderful break at the cottage. It was a real home from home with everything we needed supplied for our use. The cottage was extremely clean and very nicely decorated, and is in a terrific location for exploring everything the New Forest has to offer. Thank you for making our first break away in a very long time such an enjoyable one.

A perfect change
We enjoyed a relaxing break in April cottage. It was comfortable and peaceful and it was lovely to have a secluded garden which we could enjoy. It was also lovely to stay near to the sea, again, as we are far from the sea in the Derbyshire hills.

Great home away from home.
Loved this place. Bigger in real life than looked on the photos, they don’t do it justice. Spotlessly clean, well stocked kitchen utensils. Enclosed back garden which was great for the toddler to run around in. Quiet country side location. Shop and pub a stones throw away. Park nearby. Short drive to the beach, close drive to loads of other tourist attractions such as the new forest, wildlife parks, not far to drive to get the ferry to the Isle of Wight. We had a great time.
