Not recommended.
Good location
Very small and terrible room. Should not allow such rooms in a 4 star graded facility.

Lovely B&B, very close to the cathedral. It was perfect for our two day’s stay. Enough parking spaces.

We had a very comfortable stay at Pulteney House
We had a great stay at Pulteney House. The owners made us very welcome. Our room and bed were very comfortable; the breakfasts were splendid and served with a smile. The hotel is located just 10 minutes walk from the Minster and city centre (at a steady pace). There was plenty of parking available at the hotel, so we just parked up there for our three day stay. For real ale try the Green Tree and the Salamander pubs. They are fantastic. We had a pub meal at the Salamander. We also had a great meal at Bill’s restaurant, right next to the Minister. Remember to book your table, it’s very popular.
We could not fault our stay 😊

it could be so much nicer if the hosts were less grumpy and the breakfast nicer
This place has huge potential. It is extremely well located and the car parking is a bonus. it was clean and reasonably warm as we had very cold days.
I am afraid we found the hosts rather grumpy. Firstly they called our friends who booked us to ask exactly when we were arriving as "someone had to be there to let us in" - well yes thats how hotels work!! We were travelling so could not be specific. On our first morning there I asked for the towels to be changed as the day was very damp- when we got back mid afternoon one set had been changed but not the other. I asked if the other could be changed too and i was given a lecture about the "rules" - only towels thrown in the shower would be changed - delivered very patronisingly the implication being that we didnt look as if we knew the usual rules in hotels! In any case this was clearly nonsense as one set had been changed and they handnt been thrown in the shower. Why not just say oh i will do it right away or i will give you a set here you go. The cold breakfast ( as they are no longer doing cooked breakfasts) was truly awful - cold solid croissants but redeemed by hot toast. It looked as if they were short of staff and we all know this is a problem everywhere which is sad but if one keeps the facility open one is obliged to be pleasant and helpful to the guests - and make the breakfast a bit nicer.
