NO LO RECOMIENDO

El lugar tenia techos altos y se veia limpio. El desayuno típico, aceptable.

Nos dieron una habitación que no era la que habiamos reservado, dijeron que alguien se habia equivocado y nos dieron otra. La que reservamos tenia 3 camas, las que nos dieron SOLO UNA! Al final solucionaron y armaron otra cama en ese momento... teniamos baño privado pero NO HABIA AGUA CALIENTE en la habitación, por lo que tuvimos que usar el baño común. La información turistica que pedimos fue toda inexacta, nos dijeron que la única forma de ir a Guatemala era en el servicio shuttle que ellos vendian o taxi, y al final tomamos un autobus sin ningún problema. En fin, éste lugar no nos dejó una buena impresión de El Salvador

Decent place

The room was very basic but spacious. The AC was nice. Breakfast was amazing and the lady that makes breakfast is so friendly. She is the best staff member.

No hot water in the shower. They also keep the front door locked at all times so every time you need to get in our out, you must wait for some staff to unlock it for you. They don't give a key to the front door. Also, the staff that checked me in didn't want to let me in my room before check in time even though the room was already available and ready. When I asked him to go to the bathroom in my room, he hesitantly gave me the room key and I just kept the key with me. It's about 30 min walk to the bus station, not very convenient. Overall, it was OK, breakfast was the highlight of this place.

Excelente estadía en Santa Ana!

Muy bien ubicado en el centro histórico de Santa Ana, muy cerca de hermosos atractivos de El Salvador. Hostal cómodo, limpio, seguro. Los desayunos muy ricos, la atención de los anfitriones excelente!

Pequeño aspecto a mejorar es agregar agua caliente en la ducha, hace calor en el pueblo y para un adulto promedio no es necesaria agua caliente para bañarse, pero íbamos con un bebé y sí se necesita.

clean place, comfy bed, super kind and helpful staff

we stayed in the deluxe bedroom for one night which was amazing! spacious, with AC, only downside was the shower which they're working on so should be fixed soon! afterwards, we transferred to the lower one 'standard double room' with shared toilets - shared toilets are great, super clean and perfectly working shower. the staff is sooo attentive and will go out of their way to help you, and the place is extremely clean - there's literally someone cleaning all day, running laundries, and asking guests to clean their rooms/change sheets and towels on a daily basis like a hotel would! location is spot on, 5 min walk to the main park with the cathedral and theatre, and in a very calm and quiet area where you feel safe! their brekkies are also super tasty!! i got really sick during my stay there (nothing related to the hostal) and the managers, cleaners, and basically all the staff really looked after me! they called a doctor to come over, made me lemonades so I wouldn't dehydrate, helped me prepare food, etc. i couldn't be more grateful of how spoiled and well looked after I was during my sick days at hostal sole.

Lack of lock on bedroom door, only one bathroom for everyone in the hostal. On our last day we didn’t get breakfast despite waiting around until 9am (breakfast meant to be served 8-10).

Worse stay ever.

Nothing really. It was a scam felt like being in a prison the whole time could not wait to leave honestly.

Everything. We booked one night and upon checking in the main lady (owner) is the most rudest, disrespectful and unwelcoming person I have ever come across. She should be ashamed of herself for the way she treats others. At first during check in she did not wanted to accept that we have a booking, after showing her confirmation she still wasn’t satisfied but eventually had to let us in. She clearly didn’t want us in the hotel because we got a delux room at a discount price through booking. Anyways we never got the room we booked which was so disappointing. The room we were given was not nice at all. We wanted to pay with card and the owner said they will charge 6/7% which is crazy. There was no toilet paper in our bathroom and upon requesting she said ok but never acted upon and just sat in her chair like She doesn’t care and she only gave it to us once I requested the second time. She knocked on our door and started blaming us that we were smoking in our room which was so ridiculous and obnoxious. Whereas she was the one who we saw smoking. As a backpacker who has been travelling for a year and has stayed in 100 of different accommodations I have never felt this humiliated, disgusted, unappreciated and discriminated. The worse thing is we didn’t even do anything. Hated every minute of it and we booked another Accomodation straight away at pool hostel which is close by. Don’t stay here, there is so much bad energy and vibe, it feels like a prison, no atmosphere, they try to scam you; and it’s expensive whereas the service is worse then mercado. We booked pool hostel immediately which was way cheaper and so much better. The lady owner should learn some manners and not discriminate people based on their appearance or colour. Maybe she should take some classes in school to learn how to deal with clients because she clearly has no skills. It shocks me to see someone so rude and unprofessional running a hostel and trying to rob people.

Exceptional

Really nice hostel in the centre (just few blocks from the cathedral), the guy at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. Wifi works well. My room was nice and comfy, with space to hang clothes and with a ventilator (the room wasn't too hot even without it). You can also use the kitchen (and they have a filter, so the water is drinkable) and hang out on a lovely patio.

Great place to stay for a great price

The hosts were amazing! The kitchen is cute and clean. The room was simple but spacious and the bed was perfect (I love these type of beds -memory foam). There is an area to do your laundry which I am thankful for. The bathroom and shower were great (nice warm water to shower with). Thankful that they provided towels~ didn't get to enjoy the breakfast since I left at 5am but...I'm sure I would have enjoyed it😆 the location was very close to the city center and other great eatery areas~

There wasn't anything that I didn't like, the place was great and the price was good, enjoyed my stay🙃

Good room with enough plugs and places to put your stuff. There is a reading lamp and a fan. Delicious breakfast and super nice staff. Shower had hot water. Good shared kitchen. Really close to the main square.

Couldn't lock my room and after 7 am you can hear people speaking on the corridor.

Nice hostal!

Large beds, super modern, and perfect amount of fan. beautiful and large kitchen equipped with spices, a room with couches and comfy chairs. Staff were friendly and comes with breakfast, hot shower. Central location near food and center and 20 min walk to bus stations.

The shower was a bit dirty and only one bathroom/shower for the people there. Hopefully a new one will be built soon. The breakfast was average but could use some improvement! The beds were nice and big but needs more support because we all woke up with a big indent and a sore back!

A perfect starting point to El Salvador

Hostal Sole was perfect for a trip to Santa Ana. The staff were so incredibly helpful and were flexible to arranging a car and shuttle. The breakfast and coffee was very good as well. The Hostal is located 2 mins from the main square one way and 4/5 mins the other way to some excellent local restaurants. The rooms are very big as well! Also don’t be fooled by the outside where it looks like it is gated, all the hostels in Santa Ana we saw were inconspicuous and closed off (I.e. you cannot just walk in). Highly recommend going to Santa Ana!

The design of the rooms and aesthetics is nice but a chest of draws or similar would be great in the room we stayed in.

Only one toilet+shower for everyone - wasn't too bad because i was there during low season, but i assume it is not so fun during busy times It was raining extremely bad one night and the whole place got flooded with like 2-3 cm of water, including the room's floor - again, the staff was super nice, trying their hardest to clear the water and saying how sorry they are that this happened - but the drainage there is not the best and even though they were very nice, stuff got quite wet

Beautiful place if you don’t mind the noise of the street

It’s close to the center and I like how it is decorated. You get free soap and shampoo. They serve a big breakfast that was really nice! The guy who worked there was very kind and I could ask him anything, he was really helpful.

I had a really bad sleep because of all the trafic that was really loud. You can not fully close the window. There were also a lot of mosquitoes in the room, so you really have to close the door and window if you don’t want to get bitten by mosquitoes.

the breakfast was very good

in the dorm there was only one fan on the other side of the room. it was unbelievably hot and many mosquitoes also the door to the hostel was locked so you always had to wait for someone to come and open the door which was irrating

Exceptional

It was a very clean and slick hotel with much-appreciated AC. We ended up extending two extra nights. In addition, the breakfast was great.

The property does not accept card, so we had to pay in cash. Also the entry and exit to the property was frustrating, you have to wait to be let in (90% this was not an issue, but at one point we had to wait ten minutes). On our last morning we also discovered that the key needed to exit the property was being held by the receptionist, so we literally could not leave - this is a massive massive fire hazard. I think a “latch” lock mechanism should be installed instead to make sure people can leave independently.
