About this villa rental
The location of this beautiful beachfront Villa is just a few kilometers from the town of Orebic, on the Dalmatian penninsula of Peljesac. It offers direct access to one of the best beaches known in the region which leads out into perfectly clear, turquoise-blue water. The Villa is set within a generous garden of lemon, lime, fig and palm trees which give plenty of cool shade during hot summer days. The edge of the garden leads to a gate after which follow a set of steps directly onto the wonderful beach below.
The Villa is approached from the rear where there is parking for up to three cars. Guests walk down a short pathway to approach the sea-facing front of the Villa where the entrance is located. There guests into a large modern open-plan kitchen/dinner/lounge area. On this ground floor level there are also three double bedrooms and one separate bathroom. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor where guests will find two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Both double bedrooms lead out onto a shared sea-facing terrace. The rooftop of the Villa bears yet another terrace.
The main attraction of the entire Villa is its exquisite outside area, where guests spend the majority of their time, as it makes of an ideal entertaining area. The patio doors from the lounge lead out onto a large dining area equipped with a BBQ located at the side of the property. In addition there is a comfortable outdoor lounge spot. Both the outdoor lounge and dining areas are shaded by an attractive wooden sun shade. Further forward there is a spacious garden where 4 marble chairs and a table are positioned at the end to enjoy the best sea view. A short walk away, one of the two beach bars is a relaxing Tikki bar and restaurant overlooking the sea, as well as a scuba-diving centre. Not far from the beach, near the Villa, there is a wonderful sunken ship to view just off the coast. Nearby in the town of Orebic plenty of nightlife can be found as well as restaurants. From Orebic it is a short ferry ride to visit the city of Korcula on the island of Korcula, while approximately 15 km from the Villa there is the coastal town of Viganj, popular with windsurfers. The Dalmatia region
Peljesac is a peninsula in southern Croatia, in the Dubrovnik -Neretva county, just about an hour and a half drive from Dubrovnik. It is around 70 km long and is connected with Croatian Mainland at Ston.It is the longest of all Dalmatian peninsulas, abounding in natural bays, mostly covered with woods, with a coast full of beaches, reefs, bays and fjords. Peljesac was inhabited since ancient times by Illyrians and Greeks, later by Romans and since the 7th century by Slavs. The old historians mention it under the name Rathaneus Kersones, meaning the Cape Lynx. The Peljesac Channel divides the peninsula from the island of Korcula. Scattered like breadcrumbs across the foothills of the dolomites, the hamlets and villages of southern Peljesac evoke an ancient past. The rocks, the vegetation, the groves of pine and cypress - everywhere a sense of timelessness prevails. On the hills above the sea, abandoned villas and gardens, stone walls and columns lie crumbling in the sun. Lemon, fig and almond trees, herbs and wildflowers surround the villages gardens and fields. The historical sea captains' town of Orebic - with its shops, market, cafes and restaurants is on the bottom of the Sveti Ilija Mountain. A footpath into the mountains to the summit of Sveti Ilija begins near Viganj too - Croatia's windsurfing capital. There, seaside restaurants and pebbly beaches attract a lively crowd in summer months. The island of Korcula and Mljet are is just across the channel
Mokalo
Peljesac has an ancient maritime tradition and is the home of many captains famous for their skill and bravery on the open sea. It is also well known since ancient times for the fine vineyards, and the excellent sorts of wine, "Dingac" and "Postup", are famous all over the world.
Orebic – a small town on the south seashore of Peljesac Peninsula, originally built by sea captains who found this spot to built their homes and villas. It is located on the regional road running along Peljesac peninsula. Back in 19th century, Orebic had one of the largest sailing and shipping societies in Mediterranean but as soon as steam ships replaced sailing ships, Orebic lost it's primate in the field, although sailing itself remains local activity to present days. Orebic is nowadays popular tourist resort, offering various accommodation facilities – hotels, apartments, and rooms, long pebble beaches (Trstenica).
Here is a quote about Orebic from Sunday Times UK: “Stick a pin anywhere on a map of the Croatian coast and you're likely to hit on an unspoilt beach and a sleepy fishing village or two. If you're lucky, you might find a lovely little place like Orebic, on the Peljesac peninsula, north of Dubrovnik. It has a long, sandy beach, restaurants serving black squid risotto and whitebait, and a jetty where you can take a 15-minute ferry ride to the delightful island of Korcula. ”

Villa Kustra is a Very handsome ,well appointed home with direct access to glorious Ardriatic beach. There are many steps , but with the good handrails , easily navigated. Shady hammocks invited lazy summer naps.
Easy fully functional outdoor kitchen & bathroom facilities & comfortable, spacious covered terrace for dining & lounging. Dry air with fragrant breezes made for an unforgettable stay for our family of 10. Truly a beautiful spot

We had a great time in that lovely house!
The bedrooms upstairs are huge, so are the bathrooms. Downstairs the bedrooms are also okay, but much smaller and you have to share a bath.
The kitchen has everything we needed.
On the beach there were many people and it was quite loud. So we stayed in our private space on the property and just went down for swimming.
All in all a great house!

Villa Kustra was absolutely gorgeous and truly exceeded our expectations. The property itself is stunning and serene. The proximity to both the beach bar and the restaurant on either side of the property was an added bonus, providing us with perfect options for nights when we didn’t feel like cooking.
Traveling from Dubrovnik to Split and exploring other areas along the way, we couldn't have made a better choice for our stay. The location is ideal for exploring the area while also offering a peaceful retreat.
We were three couples, and the property provided ample space for both privacy and togetherness. With so many different nooks and spots to relax, it felt like a new experience each day.
I can't recommend this place enough—it truly made our vacation unforgettable.

Six friends stayed for a week at this beautiful beachfront home. The house has everything needed for a fun and relaxing vacation. There are excellent restaurants and a vineyard with wine tasting within walking distance. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern and there is plenty of space to dine both indoors and out. The grounds and gardens are stunning with lounge chairs and hammocks at several levels leading to the beach. There are many stairs here - like everywhere in Croatia!
The owner provided all the information we could possibly need about the house and the surrounding area including recommendations for restaurants and excursions. This is a great place to stay and relax as well as being ideally located to explore the entire peninsula.

Lovely beach, friendly neighborhood.

The house is really nice, in very good shape and well equipped. What made our 2 weeks there outstanding was the large terrace, the very large shady garden, the direct access to the beach, barbecueing and cooking in the outdoor kitchen.
The bay is beautiful, however quite busy during high season in August. But you do not need to spend much time there: just a few stairs and you are in your private garden with sea view. If you want it more quiet, you move up to a higher level of the garden and find a hammock or sun lounger there to relax in peace and quiet. We also enjoyed many table tennis matches there.
We were 8 adults in the house (3 couples and 2 singles). There are 5 bedrooms in the house: 2 on the upper floor, generously spaced, each with its private bathroom and access to the balcony.
The 3 bedrooms on the ground floor share one bathroom (however, there is an additional shower including hot water and a toilett a few steps outside the terrace). They are quite small, each with a double bed, wardrobe and dresser. With the furniture there is little else room to move inside. But since one spends most of the time outside, this was not a problem for me. But other people might have other needs. So you better discuss with your group beforehand who will be happy with a small bedroom.
Joseph, the host, is super quick and precise answering all questions before and during our stay. Meri, the property manager, is very friendly and helpful when it comes to fixing minor problems.

The best part about this place is the outdoors: many quiet places to recline and a lot of space, and there’s a beautiful outdoor dining and living room area, as well as a faull outdoor barbecue kitchen. It’s quite a few stairs to the beach, so, if anyone in your group has mobility issues, be advised, but there’s a beautiful area down there with chaise lounges to relax above the beach. The beach is gorgeous, it does get a bit crowded with the two campgrounds on either side, but if you take a swim first thing in the morning, you’ll have it all to yourself and it could not be more gorgeous!!! It is a pebble beach so if your feet are tender, make sure to bring your water shoes. We really appreciated that there were two places to get food and drinks so close by and we loved buying fresh bread in the mornings from the bread man. Overall, it was fantastic stay. I will say that two of the downstairs bedrooms were quite musty, and because it was so hot when we were there, we weren’t able to leave the doors and windows open (had to use ac) so the mildew smell was pretty strong. One of the air conditioners upstairs was not working when we were there and it was quite warm at night. The indoor kitchen is a little bit small and really only one person can comfortably work, so if you are a gourmet plan on doing a lot of outdoor grilling! The upstairs bedrooms with the en suite bathrooms are spectacular, very roomy, and the bathrooms are beautiful. The property managers are lovely.

The villa and the setting is breathtaking-all that is described in the VRBO listing and more. It’s a true paradise. The grounds and beach are spectacular. All who came fell in love with the accommodations and the setting. We had a boat during our three week stay and we’re able to cruise the coastline and visit the numerous islands in the vicinity-eating lunch on a nearby private island between our beautiful half- moon beach and the island of Korcula (which I highly recommend taking an ATV buggy tour of with the family-operated boats oldest buggy tout operator on the island. Much thanks to Joseph for our stay in his obvious “labor of love”.
Hopefully I will return.

We stayed here for my 60th birthday week with family staying at adjacent campsites and apartments in Mokalo and Orebic. The villa was perfect for our needs with plenty of space and quiet areas to be in as well as the wonderful veranda where we hosted a celebration dinner of Croatian lamb peka provided by Marija. The location is just perfect, nice and quiet but easy to get to Orebić and across to Kortula, which is my favourite Dalmatian island. Thank for a wonderful, happy and memorable stay.

Fantastic villa
Our extended family of 10 stayed at Villa Kustra for a week, and this property exceeded our expectations. The villa itself was beautifully remodeled and the property has a great deal of outdoor space for relaxing. The beach accessed directly from the property is also great for swimming. Communication with the owner leading up to our stay was also great. I recommend it highly!

Villa Kustra
The house is equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The garden is just amazing - even in the bigger group, everyone can find their own spot to relax. The sea is clean, just a few steps away, and we always found without problems a place on the beach directly below the house.
We have enjoyed snorkeling at the shipwreck several times also with our kids (8 and 5 years old).
And sports enthusiasts like us will definitely welcome table tennis and table football. Last but not least, Marija was always there ready to help.

Our family holiday
This property was fabulous for our extended family of 10 ranging from 7months to 70 years.
The great things about it were the location, with the direct access to the beach which was perfect for both kids and adults.
The different levels of the garden that allowed sunshine or shade and enough room to have your own space. Thoughtfully laid out to allow quite relaxation.
The great barbecue and outdoor dining area which we used every day.
The nearby water sport availability ie paddle boards and canoes, but not too busy to be a nuisance for swimmers or for noise.
The beach bar on the doorstep to the right, friendly and reasonably priced.
Although there are no shops on the site there is a supermarket selling most of what you need for a self catering holiday within 5 minutes of the villa.
Overall, the whole family rated our holiday at this villa as excellent.

A truly wonderful spot!
Even better than the pictures on the site. Communication was flawless as was our arrival and introduction to the property.
Out of the main holiday season it was quiet and peaceful, but a lot of local tourist facilities were closed. However, a magical place to relax without the need to go anywhere else.

Idyllic House
The house and gardens were fantastic, as was its situation. It was very well equipped and the decor and furniture were of a high standard.
The gardens were extensive and spread over several terraces and it was brilliant having direct access onto the beach. There was plenty of room outside in both the sun and shade. The property manager Marija was very welcoming and helpful as were all the local people we met. It was easy to get taxis and boat rides and we would definitely recommend getting a water taxi into Orebic. The only disappointment was that in May when we went, some of the recommendations in the guest book were closed. This was a minor inconvenience. Our group of ten had a wonderful time there.

Wonderful house, magical setting
We had a fabulous holiday staying at villa Kustra. The villa is spacious, well cared for and has everything you need. Our children (and us) loved having a beach at the back gate, we swam everyday, snorkelling. The steps through the villa’s terraces to the beach are steep - but our 3 yr olds were fine with guidance. The campsites either side are a bonus, you can get a drink and take it to the beach or have lunch under the shaded tables. There were a lot of mozzies when we stayed so pack extra repellent. Orebic, nearby, is a great little seaside town with good ice cream and cafes. Expect beautiful starlit skies (you can see the Milky Way on a clear night), lazing in hammocks or in the many garden areas. You’re in for a treat. Thanks Joseph!

Great
The house is well equipped. It was clean and tidy. All devices and the air conditioning systems worked perfectly. The layout oft he rooms is good. Besides two large bedrooms with separate bathromms on the first floor there are three smaller bedrooms on the ground floor. We liked the kitchen, shower and toilet outside very much. The hole property seemed well-kept. The large balcony was our favourite place all day long, especially in the evening.
We really enjoyed the days here. Villa Kustra is a magic Place.
We are grateful the we were allowed to be here. Thank you so much!

Everything as Advertized and Then Some!
Spectacular spot, situated between two beach areas. The food at each was incredible, the beach was pristine. Camping families are all delightful. Getting bread every morning from the bakery truck as a real treat. The house itself is perfect, sizable, efficient and comfortable. So many places to sit and enjoy the view. Boat taxis picked us up many night directly in front of the house! So epic. Nearby Orebic is terrific and the surrounding islands like Korchula are easy to reach and very close by. I could have stayed all summer. This house is a must-stay place.
One of the best holidays

Beautiful and homely house in a perfect location.
We spent a fantastic week with the whole of our family to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. (10 of us )
The five bedrooms are great, especially the two en-suite on the upper floor. The house is simply but tastefully decorated and the veranda is great for family dinners and quiet relaxing evenings.
The propert is large and allows everyone to have their private spot to relax. The beach is just below with it's private entrance. Lovely blue and clear water.
We had a fantastic time and we fell in love with Croatia and Joseph's house.
Thank you so much for your friendliness and professionalism throughout the booking procedure and during our stay. We would love to come back!

As good as the pictures look
We stayed in the Villa in July 2017 with 9 people and it was as it looks in the pictures - stunning. Such an amazing location and Villa. The beach below has the most amazing water colour and rocks that make it a great place for a morning or evening swim or chilling all day. The two camp ground bars/restaurants next door are great value for money for coffee, drinks and dinner. We used the fire place one night to cook a BBQ, rather than the gas BBQ and this turned out perfectly. Marija who looked after the villa was amazing and very responsive if we had any questions.
Two must do's when staying in the Villa are to go to Ponar restaurant which is next to the monestary at the top of the hill for sunset dinner and also visit Moro Beach Stupe (great beach club but is expensive). It is super easy to get to Korcula Old Town from the ferry at Orebic sea wall.
Highly recommend staying here.

This beautiful Villa is a perfect place to recover and escape from busy daily routine. As soon I arrived there I had feeling I found new home. The management of the property was very helpful and accurate. Every part of the villa is perfectly decorated and fully equipped. Beautiful beachfront home with spectacular views
My husband and two young sons stayed here last June for two weeks. We had a fantastic time. The house was immaculate and perfect for our needs. The bedrooms were spacious and the adjoining bathrooms were spa quality. We had everything we needed in the house. We loved dining and relaxing on the patio. The proximity to the beach is so convenient. It feels so private. We loved going to the 2 beach bars next to the house for a quick lunch while enjoying the beach. Orebic is a quick drive away and perfect for a daily ice cream and stroll! We would definitely return!

This property..."Villa Kustra" as it is known is simply fabulous. The home is well appointed and very comfortable. The Dalmation outdoor oven is a blast. One of the areas best beaches just down the steps...right next door is a great dive company and restaurant...minutes from the ferry to Korcula, and the best wine in Croatia...I can't say enough good things about this home and area...
