This was an amazing property. For us, it was the perfect balance of luxury and wilderness. The house was beautiful, the property was private and fun to explore. We so much appreciated the pantry stocked with things loke spices, flour, sugar, etc. overs. We hated to leave.

This was the most beautiful property and we loved the house!! We saw lots of animals including deer and baby bear cubs!!! Probably one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed.

From the moment I booked the house, the communication with Pam was timely and informative. The house and mountain setting was exquisite. We cooked every meal with a well stocked kitchen and every item for our vacation was available including fishing rods and an adorable wood row boat. The joy of watching a 6 year old catch his first trout was priceless. David was onsite when I arrived and he was a wealth of information. Not one of us wanted to leave and we will be back...soon!

Our 3 gen family from three states gathered in this, the perfect spot for our nature-loving family. We fished, saw wild-life, and used this as our base for all that Manitou Springs and surrounding areas have to offer. At the end of each day we chilled on one of the patios, paddled, fished, cooked family meals, played ping pong, and played cards. We made a game of, “I bet this place already has a…” every time we thought of an amenity we have at home.
The owners were just as impressive as their home, property, and long list of amenities. We can’t wait to come back!

This is a 5-star listing, from the 4 large bedrooms to the fabulous 6-acre property with no other houses nearby. It also has two nice sized living rooms (with great views of the pond and meadows) and a fully equipped kitchen. Our 4-year old grandson really loved feeding the trout in the pond. Other fun extras: hot tub, nice grill, fire pit, badminton court, and fishing poles. As in every rental there are minor issues, but none worth noting. When checking out, renters should be aware of the 10 am checkout time (earlier than most places we've rented), and the need to wash and put away dishes, and take out the trash. We will definitely go again!

Very comfortable place to stay. Clean and well stocked. We enjoyed spending time on the patio areas and getting out on the boat in the pond. We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend this property to others.

This is our second time staying here with friends. It’s a great home in an amazing location. I have it 4 stars because it’s time as a vacation rental has caused some wear and tear. Probably time for new carpet and a couple other minor maintenance items. Overall a very pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was exactly as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances to use for Thanksgiving Dinner. We hiked around the property and enjoyed the beautiful snowfall from all the windows. The location was great because it feels secluded but is still close to town for an easy grocery store run. Thank you for a memorable holiday!

Beautiful place just 5 minutes outside of town! It had high end pots and pans but you will need to bring your own shampoo!

House and property were exactly as pictured and described. Basic supplies (soap etc) on hand, which is exceptional in our experience. Everything in working order. Spectacular views. Would love to stay here again.

We had 6 adults, a 3 year old and 6 month old. We had plenty of space, though the kitchen was a tad small when 2-3 people were working in it. We loved the views, pond and location. My grandson loved the swing and helping his daddy fish. Only disappointment was that we saw just 2 deer and some hummingbirds. But we had fun looking for wildlife!
The house was thoughtfully furnished and the kitchen was well stocked.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The location of this house is in a beautiful & private setting. It is a lovely, comfortable & thoughtfully built home with plenty of room for 7 adults and 2 children and amazing views from all rooms. We enjoyed exploring the 12 acres, relaxing of the 2 decks and fishing on the pond. The owners have thought of everything you might need for your stay. The location provides easy access to many of the attractions nearby and a lot of great restaurants. The Pantry and Wines of Colorado were our favorites! Both with outdoor creek side dining. Would love to stay here again in the future.

We spent the most wonderful time enjoying all this home and property has to offer! House just as listed.

Our second time staying and it was as magnificent as the first! Could not ask for a better property and home to just enjoy or since you are so close to all the things around (Garden of the Gods, Royal gorge, golf, fishing, Pikes Peak, on and on) to go do things during the day. We always made sure we were back a couple hours before sunset so we could watch the wildlife and enjoy the fire pit and clear skies! David and Pam are the best hosts ever! You will want for nothing!

We really enjoyed our stay, it is a beautiful property location as described with real privacy and spectacular views. The recommendations from the owners were also perfect - we fished trout and ate them, took hikes from the property and nearby at Green Mtn Falls, visited Pikes Peak and Manitou Springs, went to a Gold Mine, had brunch at the Broadmoor, walked around Garden of the Gods. We had deer pass by the house and even the Mama bear who was huge! Played badminton, volleyball, and archery. This was perfect for us to be able to relax and disconnect at the house and do all these activities nearby. The owners were great, we only had a couple of minor questions and they took care of them immediately. We were a family of 6 ranging from 11 years old to Grandma and everyone loved it. Thoroughly recommend staying here and we hope to go back again.

The property worked well for a family with young children. Fishing, campfires and a creek running through much of the property provided ample activities and opportunities for them to explore. The house was well stocked which was nice. Even though the stores and restaurants in town were pretty close, the house felt private and all on its own.

Thank you Pam & David for providing us a place to rest and regroup from the current chaos we find ourselves in.
Pam was amazing to work with, and so helpful.
The home is so peaceful & quiet with amazing views.

A huge thank you to the Banta's for sharing their beautiful home and being great hosts. The pictures do not come close to doing this property justice. Amazing fully stocked home with views from every room and loads of entertainment amenities. Felt secluded but less than 10 minutes from a number of resturants, supermarket etc.
We kept very busy while enjoying the CO springs area but kids couldn't wait to get back from what ever we were doing to a throw a line in the creek fed pond, where we did quite well (catch and release). Kids where also absolutely thrilled, and a little scared, that they got to see a black bear fairly close.
I hope we get the opportunity to go back sometime soon.

My family and I had such a nice time staying at this property. Nice home, comfy arrangements, clean, and the outdoor area was so much fun. My little boys and husband didn’t want to leave. Thanks for the great getaway.

From the moment you turn the last corner and spy the lodge on the other side of the pond until you look back as you leave you will be living in a dream house. The layout for our three families was great with ample beds and privacy. The kitchen is well stocked and the deck is always great to sit out on and look at the deer and other wildlife that make this property their home. We like to try different parts of Colorado every summer, but may try to stay here again next year as it is truly the best place ever for our family vacation.

I cannot describe how beautiful and wonderful this property is. The house is amazing and the perfect layout with the two different “wings” to the bedrooms. Everything inside and out was amazing, our family had an absolutely fantastic week. There is plenty to do within 20-30 minutes from the property and the location itself can be considered a destination. Our hosts were wonderful! The only problem is we have to wait a year to go again!! Book it!!!!

Family Loved It
Our party consisted of us, our son and grandson, our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 children. The house was great . It is furnished nicely. There was plenty of room to spread out. The kids enjoyed all of the outdoor space.
The kitchen is well stocked. It had the most cooking utensils of anyplace we've stayed. All appliances worked well.
The young ones enjoyed fishing at the pond and exploring the property. Ping pong was one evening's entertainment. We also made smores.
Best of all was the wildlife wandering through the property. We saw a red fox, several deer, a beaver swimming in the pond 2 evenings, chipmunks, and bears twice (3 together once!)
The downsides were:
No AC. We thought this wouldn't be a problem in June, but there was a heat wave. As Southerners being used to flicking the AC down at night for a cool sleep, we found it hard to sleep until the wee hours of the morning even with the fans. Once we had to close up the windows for the night, it took some time for the house to cool.
Open rainfall shower in one master BR. These belong in tropical climes! :)
There were some repairs needed on the house--especially in the patio tile. One granddaughter did get scraped up a little when she stepped wrong in one of the holes.
Overall, a wonderful visit. I've been informed that they'd be happy to return! It was a relaxing week.

Secluded, yet so close to Woodland Park
This property made us feel like we were in the middle of nowhere. So secluded and beautiful! Deer are everywhere.
The kitchen is one of best stocked we've ever stayed in. From ziplocs to foil, flour to sugar, and all the spices you'll ever need.
The internet worked great the entire time we were there. The TV room is so nice and cozy. Just rent this house, you will not regret it.

Fantastic experience
We were delighted with the house layout, which allowed us to close off the “grandparents’ wing” at night; spectacular views of the property; multiple spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas; a well equipped kitchen; a large property with plenty to do for the children; first-class amenities in bathrooms and kitchen; and very easy communication with our hosts.
