The place was the cutest place and sweetest people and everything was in great shape. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The welcoming atmosphere made us feel at home and comfortable. The location, the facilities, everything was in great shape. Sam the dog was very cute and liked a lot of cuddles.

Ideal accommodation for us - close to relatives we were visiting and will definitely return.

We liked the hospitable host and his mate (Sam the dog)! Very easy to deal with and treated us as 'part of the family'. Texted us prior to our arrival to ensure we were able to access the premises. The room was spotlessly clean and luxuriously furnished. A lovely ensuite bathroom with effective shower. Car parking outside the front door. Very reasonably priced.

Superb

The owner was very welcoming and helpful about local attractions. The breakfasts were good. The bed comfortable; sufficient wardrobe space. The location was good for coastal towns in Taranaki and for the volcano itself.

The room was at the front of the house, on main road highway 3 and logging lorries passing by in the early hours disrupted sleep.

Good location, great breakfast, friendly hosts.

Great location if you travel by car, per bus it is a bit of a walk from the city centre, but the former is usually the default. There is also a dairy around the corner, so easy to get the basics covered. The room was clean, shower pressure excellent, shampoo and soap provided and the proprietors were very helpful (drove me to the bus stop) and we had a few pleasant chats. They also have a friendly and well behaved dog. Breakfast was very good with a variety of spreads, toast and a good cup of coffee. All in all would definitly recommend. I used the earplugs provided, so the traffic noise at night wasn't a big deal for me.

I couldn't connect the smart TV to the wifi, so no Netflix, but Sky worked fine and it wasn't really something I absolutely needed. I am sure if I would have asked it would have been sorted. That's my minor quibbel, everything else was just fine or exceptional.

James and Gillian are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and hands-on people. The breakfast was diverse, tasty and James made the best poached eggs! Gillian's homemade jam was top notch. The accommodation was very clean.

Like staying with family.

Good location, comfortable bed, nice hot shower. Hosts were lovely and breakfast was delicious and filling. Their dog Sambuca was a delight to meet. would stay here again.

This was a perfect place to stay in Hawera and a glimpse of Mt Taranki was a bonus.

The house is lovely, the bedroom very comfortable and clean. We appreciated the tea and coffee facilities. Gill and James were exceptional hosts, very friendly helpful with information.

Awesome luxurious place with a lovely couple + dog

Lovely, accommodating couple. Gillian went the extra mile with breakfast, got some fresh fruit with honey, yoghurt, juice, selection of jams. Had heating on in the night, was very warm, quiet and comfy. Very cute dog, Sam on property, was pet friendly. James even moved his car for us to park closer to the room once we arrived. Had all the creature comforts we could possibly want for a luxurious stay! Will definitely be back! :)

lovely rooms, had everything we needed and super comfortable beds. Sam was adorable and Gillian was a great host, our only regret was we only stayed for one night.

Nice for a quick overnight stay.

Wonderful hosts. Nicely appointed and comfortable room. Nice cup of coffee (latte) from the host. Well behaved and friendly dog (large Belgian shepherd).

It is on the highway and we were in a front room. No warm food options for breakfast.
