The house was beautiful, well appointed, the only downside was we were about an hour from Bar Harbor & Acadia. As we were on vaca and due to being right on the ocean it was worth it. Being able to hike right outside the cottage was very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay there. It was just my sister & I so there was plenty of room for us. The loft is definitely for teenagers. We are both over 50 and only went up there once to check it out.

Very private. Great view! Quiet but not far from groceries. Nice restaurant right in town.

The house is in a beautiful setting at the ocean’s edge. The living area is good size, as well as both downstairs bedrooms. Everything was in working order. I think this home works best for adults and possibly older kids due to some of the railing.
It was further from Bar Harbor than we thought but the setting was awesome! We slept well! We loved watching the boats, sunrises, and sunsets!

Precisely as described & exactly what we needed. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful location. Walked several times to amazing rocky coast picnic area in McClellan Park. Lovely house with stunning views. Took full advantage of the sprawling deck & scattered benches on the property.

1. The cottage was in a nice quiet location with nice views of the ocean.
2. The beds were comfortable.
3. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans, etc.
4. The cottage was clean.
Negative comments:
a. no instructions on how to use the 3 remote controls for the TV (what was the VIZO remote for?)
b. the wifi code that was handwritten and faded took several tries to figure out the writing
c. the TV room furniture was very uncomfortable
d. the utensils and pans had to be re-washed before we used them because there was leftover food/debris on them
e. no outside trash barrel for the trash bag when we left...had to leave the trash in bag behind the door
f. no information on restaurants in the area
g. the floors in the entire cottage made loud cracking noises heard throughout the house when anybody walked on them.
Suggestions: Although we received some information/instructions via email prior to arrival, the following would be helpful:
**Maintain an organized 3 ring binder that is left on kitchen counter with the following typed informational pages:
-WiFi code
-how to use the various remotes
- where extra keys are to cottage
- recommendations for particular restaurants in the area, such as seafood restaurants, family restaurants, etc with phone numbers and locations
- sightseeing information
- emergency numbers
- expectations on what to do before departure i.e. trash (outside trash barrel), laundry.
This binder could easily be updated as necessary

Peaceful getaway
We enjoyed our week in Milbridge. The home had everything needed for a peaceful time away. The on site Wifi and cell service was a bonus. We loved watching the lobster boats. The home was the prime location for exploring the coast . The owner was very receptive to answering questions.

Granite Shore, Milbridge ME
We had an amazing time here. The location was remote and quiet…there were deer that came through the camp. I enjoyed the sunrise every morning. Would love to come again…the scenery was breathtaking….

FANTASTIC HOUSE AND LOCATION!
My original summary was too long, so I'm going to keep it short and sweet. This place was AMAZING. If you're looking to escape the madness of daily life, this is the perfect place to be. We adventured up and down most of Maine's coastline and our only regret was not spending more time at this house. The setting made for a perfect sunrise and nothing beats the sound of the ocean's tide as your alarm clock :)
So don't pass this place up, I promise you won't regret it ❤️

Gorgeous property!
This house was the perfect getaway for our family vacation. I couldn’t wait to wake up in the mornings to go to the shore to watch the sunrise over the bay. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We didn’t want vacation to end. We will definitely come back to this place in the future.

Gorgeous property
This was just the right place for me and my family to get away and enjoy some peace and relaxation.

Blissful retreat
We desperately needed to unplug, and this was the ideal place to do it. The house is great, the views sublime. Great fire pit and benches throughout for peaceful contemplation. The location is remote, but we loved it. We enjoyed getting seafood at Chipman's wharf and day trips to Winter Harbor and Bar Harbor. Acadia is easily within reach. We will definitely return to this house.

Pleasantly Surprised
There is always a risk booking a vacation property based on photos that may misrepresent the actual condition and features. This house was more than we expected. The views were incredible and condition of the house was much better than we expected. Thank you.

Many pros and cons to this property
The location alone sells this property. Outstanding!! Once upon a time, I'm sure this property was well cared for, but it is not now. It has a fairly well equipped kitchen, has quality linens & towels. If you want consistent shower temps however, this is not the place for you! After 2 days of cleaning, we made it our own, but upon arrival the floors were still wet, the dishwasher had food deposits in it, the kitchen drawers needed cleaning, the BBQ was so dirty we did not use it, the deep fryer in the cupboard was full of oil and food particles and the doorknob came off in my hand. This spectacular deck without a table and seating for outdoor eating is a shame and the kitchen island has a bar seating area and no bar stools. Fell in love with the view but the cottage needs some serious TLC. Multiple pull out drawers had broken brackets and were repaired with tape which did not hold !No instructions as to trash and recycling so we obtained that info from a neighbor. Would be helpful for future guests. We purchased a cooler & ice packs and a crockpot which we left for future quests to use. Gorgeous spot but not one we would return to.

Peaceful Retreat
The views were absolutely beautiful. It was so quiet, only lobster boats, birds and waves.

Beautiful home
This was a beautiful home, nestled in the trees of a small town. A perfect quiet get away... a little ways away from restaurants and busier towns, so be prepared for a bit of a drive to those sort of attractions.
Overall, the view was amazing, the house was great, and the nearby park (McClellen Park) was such an added bonus!!!

Gorgeous view. Amazing stay!
My wife and I stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were shocked at how gorgeous the view is from the benches by the beach. The pictures do not due it justice. This was one of the best places I have booked in a long time. The views will literally take your breath away. We seen an eagle our last day fly right by us when we were on the deck. Had an amazing time and can't wait to come back. 10 stars!!!

Needs cleaning. Great view
Property needs cleaning and baseboard heaters make excessive noise that may effect sleeping. Property is very private and has great view of ocean bay.

Peaceful Family Get-Away
Overall, this was a good stay...amazing view and peaceful surroundings are definitely the highlight. Some minor details keep it from the full 5 stars: it could have used a more thorough cleaning before our arrival, there was a delay in communication with the property manager. Also, the listing should specify that there is no AC (there are ceiling fans, but the temp in the house made it up to 84) and no cable TV (while not an essential item, it's nice to have access).
A suggestion for making guests feel more 'at home' - curtains that block the sun (so guests can sleep in and not wake up with the sun) and perhaps a simple stereo to play music.

wonderful house!
Too many good things to say about our stay! The house is wonderful. It comfortably accommodated our family of 4. The house is nicely decorated, the furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and there is ample linens and supplies. They have lots of books and DVD's too. It is nicely secluded in the woods.
The view is breath taking! The pictures don't do it justice. Often I would just sit and look out at the beautiful scenery. We spent many mornings climbing on the rocks below.
The town of Milbridge was just big enough. There is a grocery store, a dollar store, a few little shops. I did see a family doctor and a very small hospital but fortunately we did not need their services! It is approximately a little over an hour to Mount Desert Island or to the Canadian boarder. We found lots of interesting places in-between. There are many places to fish and hike around the area.
If you are looking to stay off the beaten path, this is definitely the place.

Beautiful location in a friendly town!
Amazing sunrise and sunsets from this property! It was hard to pack up and leave the view this cottage offered. The cottage had everything we needed. The full kitchen and washer and dryer were very nice to have for our week long stay. I would have given 5 stars, but feel the inside of the cottage could use some TLC. A full day or two of cleaning some of the areas that aren’t on the normal cleaning list ( ceiling fans, window sills, corners of rooms and ledges etc) would make this place a gem.
We fell in love with the town of Milbridge. So many kind people who take the time to wave and smile. We would definitely recommend this property to others. It’s in a beautiful, peaceful location and it was so fun to watch the lobster boats each morning. If Acadia is in your plans, It’s a great alternative to the busy Bar Harbor area if you are willing to drive a little (1 hour) but very well worth it!

Quiet, tasteful retreat.
Quiet location, stunning views, tasteful and simple decor. Open floor plan makes for a lot of family gathering time. We enjoyed the hummingbirds at the feeders. Bring your binoculars and relax on the deck.

This was a lovely vacation home for our family. The view was absolutely amazing from every room. I would definitely return.

Location; Location; Location
All of the descriptive words will not properly prepare you for your stay! Beautiful open water with lobster boats working within a hundred feet of the bluff. Sunrise was a treat, hiking along the large boulders and exploring the area revealed the beauty of Maine. We were fortunate to be there when the colors were at their peak and we explored several of the harbor towns along the coast as well as Baxter State Park and Bar Harbor.
The house was great and as described, we enjoyed the views from the large deck as well as from the dinning area and great room. Milbridge is a small village with friendly folks and great food especially breakfast at Milbridge House.
No issues with the property and Tom and Nance were a joy to work with, we look forward to our next Maine Adventure.

Views from the great room are majestic. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped.
Overall great experience. Would highly recommend. Don't miss the two pathways to the shore. One has a bench. Only critique: floor creaks a lot. Outdoor table would be a nice addition.

Vistas, serene and sunny
A sweeping vista dotted with pine trees and a large deck or bench at the cliff's edge to sip your coffee in the morning. Cant get much better than that! Lobster boats chug by (we were a bit early in June so just a few) checking their pots. The house is tastefully decorated and well maintained. My favorite was the swirling leather chair so comfy to read while engulfed in the beauty of the view. We really appreciated the well stocked kitchen (basic spices), pans, bowls, etc., the updated shower off the Master bedroom and the foam mattress. Each bedroom has a slider and view to the ocean. very nice. Grill available, too. You can use your phone or ipad for the internet or calls but there is no service for TV viewing - only for DVDs. The local library in town surprisingly had some very current movies to rent for the week at no cost! (closed Monday and open only until 4pm). Milbridge is a mellow town with only two restaurants, one gift shop, gas etc but a handy grocery and dollar store. The Milbridge House restaurant was excellent - we went for an impromptu lunch and my fish was very fresh. It looks like it is quite popular for breakfast, too.
We highly suggest Robinson tours that leaves right from Milbridge. The boat holds only 6 people, he is informative, friendly and his dog, Maisy, is adorable. We took it to Petit Manan Island to see the Puffins. There is also a lobster man literally two miles down the road- Chipman's. We ventured to the campground just next door and discovered a trail that went right to the water with big rocks to climb and a picnic table. We hiked both trails at Petit Manan (about 10-15 minutes away), ventured to Schoodic Point that now has bike paths and carriage roads (just 1-2 years old) and Winter harbor has some cute gift shops and restaurants. A day trip to Bar Harbor to hike trails is about 80 minutes depending on traffic. I suggest leaving early to avoid the one lane of traffic from Ellesworth to Mount Desert Isle/Bar Harbor. We loved "Mainly Meat"/Atlantic Brewhouse for some tasty, no frills BBQ ribs, chicken, etc.
And last but not least, Nancy and Tom were very pleasant and were very responsive and timely in answering our questions.
