Terrific location just outside of Davis Square, a lively area which seems to have replaced the old Harvard Square (restaurants, shops, movie theater, ice cream). The house is pretty and has a lovely garden around it. Comes with a cat! Homey. No hot breakfast options, but cereal, fruit, pastry, coffee all nicely done and presented. Quiet and peaceful. Nice bathroom, excellent shower, roomy & great water pressure. I forgot to bring shampoo and was delighted to find that they even provide it as well as body wash.
My greeting from the proprietor was not especially friendly, but aside from that, everything was fine. I had a tiny, tiny room at the top of the house, a small dormer under the eaves. Cozy for me -- I liked it -- but if you're tall or big or just like a lot of space, make sure you're not getting an upstairs room.

The room is clean and cozy. My room is small but it certainly fits my needs. The bed is surpirisingly comfy - I even want to know its manufacturer! The bathroom is sparkling clean and I love the spacious living room where I can chill and leave my luggage after checked out. Last but not least, it is located in a cute neighborhood and has easy access to public transportation.

location was great ! felt safe , near T!
not the thickest walls , noise wasn’t a problem for us , but if you had a noisy guest next door you might hear them , but everyone was polite during our stay .

Everything laid on. Great breakfast inclluded.
Didn't really meet the staff. Met the owner very briefly one day.

Great location, very well-maintained property, breakfast with a lot of choices and a welcoming host. What else can I ask? I really enjoyed this stay and the area around Davis Square.
The only down side might be my 3rd floor room with low inclined ceiling. I am reasonably tall (6ft) and the low ceiling was a problem at times.

I liked the cleanliness of my room, the shared bathroom, and the common areas. The house felt very cozy, and I felt safe.

Breakfast was outstanding and the Host taught me to use a French coffee press--at 57 I was embarred to ask but she was a patient teacher. On-site parking was perfect. Our room had a balcony with chairs overlooking the garden--very sweet spot.
Loved the sweet cat--a real plus for us cat people. We will stay again if we can manage to get a room!

The location of the private home close to the T. The price compared to hotels if you are willing to accept shared bathroom/shower. It is a charming private home. Much nicer than anonymous hotels that cost twice or three times the money.
I found breakfast OK: coffee, tea, some bread, eggs, orange juice, milk and cereal. Very basic but you can get full, all self-served. Shared bathroom is an interesting experience, but it saved a lot of money.
There was really nothing to seriously dislike about this stay. It can really be recommended when you want to save some money for a stay for a couple of days.

The Davis Square Inn is located in a very quiet neighbourhood, close to the subway, and was very easy to find and private parking was available for free on the property.
We had no trouble to check in on our own since everything is clearly explained wherever you might have a "how to" question. We entered by the kitchen / living room which was very well decorated and quite lovely.
The room, located on the top floor of the house, was clean as well as the shared bathroom located right across the hallway. It had a very nice garden view.
The breakfast was vegetarian, with homemade fresh pastries, fruit salads and lots of different options to accommodate your morning habits. Guests are free to take a platter upstairs to their room or eat on the guests table, which we chose, and were able to meet Susan who was very nice !
Overall we really recommend the Davis Square Inn !
The room was a little small to move around with 2 people but definitely big enough if you just need it for sleep.
On our first night, the guest staying in the other room located on the top floor kept the TV on all night and probably hasn't realize the sound was loud enough to be heard through the wall. As there is a rule set by the Davis Square Inn for the guests to keep it quiet (and TV sound at the bare minimum) between 11pm and 7am, they definitely are not accountable for it.

It was a lovely room and very convenient facilities.
I have no complaints

Breakfast was very good. Homemade breads and French press coffee.
Sink area is very small and water pressure in shower is very very low. Water temp was good though.

location and style of place, much more intimate than a chain hotel, plus home baked treats on the table every day
It felt a little noisy (wooden floors that echoed, not people) the first couple of days but that was likely down to being tired after the journey and we soon got used to it.

Very good beds, cozy place, friendly staff, very clear instructions, good breakfast, fair price
It is somewhat noisy. I was unlucky with constructions going on at the other side of the street, waking me up early morning.

Prime location and great breakfast. The house is lovely, and there were a lot of details that made it a perfect stay.

Breakfast was healthy and delicious. Location is perfect. House is beautiful and rooms were very clean. I'd definitely recommend this place with the below caveat about light sleepers.
The main thing a guest should be aware of is that sound really carries in this house. If you are a light sleeper who plans to sleep past 7 or 7:30AM, I'm not sure I'd recommend it. I could hear people talking and doors closing pretty much after that hour. If you're allergic to cats, be aware that there is a resident cat. She doesn't go in the rooms and is beautiful, but this could be a problem for some.

Highly recommend it if you are traveling solo and simply want a comfortable room with a cozy environment. The location was PERFECT and close enough to the city without the busy city streets.
No complaints from me!

We were disappointed with the breakfast. It consisted of cereal in a storage container, yogurt and hardboiled eggs in the fridge. Whenever we stay at a bed and breakfast, it is usually because of the unique hot breakfast we are served.

The room was very comfortable and spacious, including the big the bathroom with walk in shower. Serve yourself breakfast with several options. The hostess was very pleasant. It was quiet and the location was perfect for me.
I liked it. A bit pricey, but that's the Boston area isn't it!
