Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, the food was fantastic, even out dog was given a sausage cut up in a bowl for breakfast, will definitely return, highly recommended staying/eating here.

My room was delightful and clean and I really appreciated the tea making facilities and the gorgeous shortbread. The Red Lion was perfectly placed for the wedding that I was attending. I enjoyed chatting to the staff at breakfast and was made to feel very welcome. It was excellent to have a key to the outside door which took the pressure off any time restraints to return in the evenings.
It would have been helpful to have slightly extended breakfast times on the weekend although I understand that it was difficult because of the number of covers they cater for at lunchtime. Similarly, it would have been good to have had a later check-out time on the Sunday given that I had attended an event the night before, but these were minor issues in otherwise excellent stay.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, a special shout out to Millie whose smiling face and positive attitude made our stay better.
The location was very near the wedding we were attending
Both rooms could have done with a more thorough clean. Room no 1 had a nasty smell, not much improved by opening the window.
We might be fussy, but for us the one dinner we had was just ok, though we noticed it is a very popular pub for food and drink

The apartment was bigger than expected and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub was very popular but when you are in the room you can't hear any noise. The food was lovely and portions were huge. The field opposite was a great bonus as the dog loved it.

B&B - Excellent value for money. Clean, comfortable, quiet location.

Lovely pub and super location. Visiting Exeter for sons graduation. This was 30 mins away, 20 mins except for several sets of road works. Great atmosphere, nice, bright, lovely pub. I've stayed in fancy hotels in exeter. This was more comfortable and relaxing. Good breakfast. Highly recommended thanks.
Bed was small. But bigger wouldn't have fitted in the room. But when you're used to King double this isn't one!

Modern room within a beautiful old building. Food was amazing
Location was perfect, a quiet village but perfect for a stopover on our journey south
Room had been serviced but tea, coffee, milk etc. not checked and replensished. We didnt realise until we woke up and went to make a drink. Popped downstairs to the kitchen and they helpfully provided milk etc

very comfortable room in a lovely setting. Food was excellent at dinner and reasonably priced. Quiet during nighttime even with our window open. loved that the whole place was very dog friendly .
The girl who served breakfast wasn’t great. she didn’t offer us toast, we had to request tea and coffee. Service was a bit slow at dinner too but pleasant enough
