I stayed at this property a total of five nights. There were 15 of us, ranging from 1 year old-64 years old. We had an great stay! You can tell the house went through a total renovation recently, and is very modern and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Also very clean. We had chef services three times, all fantastic food. The chefs come on time and get straight to work as well as the cleaning staff. Jimmy, the property manager was our main source of contact. He was very responsive and quick to answer any questions or resolve any issues and that is the best you can ask for. The owners were very responsive as well. Great customer service. Would definitely recommend. And might I add what a beautiful location right on the beach. The house is located walking distance to restaurants. I would suggest renting a car or golf cart for easy transportation because the roads in the neighborhood are very uneven and rocky.

Beautiful and spacious! The pictures do not do it justice. Everyone was amazing to work with. Eleven of us stay at the property in July to celebrate my birthday. I worked with Melanie for weeks before my stay to plan events for my guest. When we arrived Jimmy was there to let us in and walk us through the extremely spacious villa. When we had last minute request Jimmy was a quick call away to resolve issue. In addition to event planning I worked with Melanie daily for additional groceries and last minute chef request. Whatever we needed, she was a text away. Thank you to Melanie, Jimmy, the Chef, sous chef and housecleaner for taking great care of us!!!! Pure vida, indeed ❤️❤️

I was blessed to be able to spend my 50th birthday at this property. We had such a wonderful time, and watching the sunsets every night from the house was magical. The location was perfect with many wonderful places to eat only a short walk away. The team at the house was spectacular making us feel very cared for. A huge shout out to Tomas, Janet and Juan Carlos. Make sure you get a massage from Janet. She had magical hands. Jimmy our chef, fed us beautiful breakfasts every morning. We could not ask for a thing more. My only complaint was the obnoxious security light in the back area. I realize it’s there for a reason but it would be nice to be able to turn it off. It obscures the view of the night sky and stars and shines into the bedroom on that side making it hard to sleep. Other than that, no complaints.

The property is in an amazing location. There were 11 in our party. 6 adults, 2- 9 year old's, 2- 6 year old's and a 19 month old. The kids had a blast at the beach, especially in the morning during low tide. Body surfing was great. It is also a short beach walk into town, which has a very good selection of restaurants. There are also several beaches in the area, that are worth visiting. The pool is as advertised and is refreshing. There are jets for a hot tub experience but we did not find how to turn on heat, if it was available. There are ample outdoor showers to wash away the sand., and ample beach towels.
The property is worn and dated. The 5 bedrooms and 5 baths and AC in the bedrooms worked well. All bedrooms have king sized beds. The 5th upstairs bedroom is musty and dark and I would rate not that great. In a way the worn and dated was a pro as we had 5 children in our group.
Tomas and his wife Janet do a great job cleaning the property. They were there daily.
The kitchen is well stocked. We did a chef night twice and that worked out well. We would do that again.
A fan blade on one of the porch fans broke off and flew across the patio.. Had one of my grandchildren been around when it happened, it could have been tragic. We left the fans off the the remainder of the stay. It also made us uneasy to use any of the interior fans. No inspection was done. Most of the lights in the fans are out and were not addressed during our stay. So the interior light is adequate but not great.
If you are going to rent a golf cart don't wait. There is limited availability. If you rent a golf cart, there is also new marina near by to visit. There is also Uber service and taxi service in the area.
My daughter and her husband and two children took Spanish lessons. There is a school nearby and runs from 8 until noon. It is very family friendly and they were very positive about the experience.
The hosts directed us to Dervin and he handled all of our tours through his company, Yellowfin. He was outstanding and also managed some of our transportation. He is reliable, dependable, and his tour pricing seems fair compared to the prices posted on web sites.
Jimmy, also directed to us by the hosts took care of our chef meals and follows up with Tomas on repairs, like the screens on the doors, that were ripped when we arrived. Jimmy will also pre shop your groceries.. We found that beneficial and one less thing we did not need to do when we arrived.

My husband, children, in-laws and I (11 in all) had a wonderful time. The home was perfect for our needs, and the on-site caretakers, Tomas and Janet, were wonderful. The location is beautiful--right on the beach, which provided many hours of enjoyment, along with the excellent swimming pool. Plenty of things to do nearby, along with very good restaurants. We would do it again anytime. We are not newbies to Costa Rica by any means, but this has been our favorite property and location so far. LM

Property was easy to rent. Eleven family members traveled from OR & WA in August 2022. The kids loved the pool & beach. Adults loved the views & easy access to bogey boarding. Restaurants nearby. Yellowfin provided 4 excursions & shuttle from & to airport. Would recommend their hospitality. Housekeeping was provided by Janet. Used Tomas to cook 2 meals. Chicken fajitas were tasty. Cows, birds, iguanas, lizards, a large black witch moth, friendly dogs & dragon flies kept us company in the patio. Distant Holler monkey screams early in the morning made us feel we were really in a tropical paradise. Sounds of surf crashing at times in front bedrooms will be missed. Weather was warm at times with occasional rain. Gelato at Porto Potrero was the best as well as Soda Marsell. Playa Potrero has some yummy reasonable restaurants - Gritanga & The Shack. Overall, we loved our stay at casa Corazon Del Mar. Sorry to hear home may add a 3rd story in March making this rental too large for our family needs. If you want a pool & almost a private beach, this is the place to go.

We stayed here for our annual family vacation. Our blended family of 10…myself and my husband and children ranging from 24-14. The house was perfect for our group. The pool and just a few steps walk to the beach were incredible. And Tomas and Janet were fantastic. We enjoyed 4 amazing meals cooked by Tomas and everyone in our group enjoyed an amazing poolside massage by Janet. This was truly the trip of a lifetime and we cannot wait to return!!!

Perfect Relaxing Vacation House!
This a wonderful property with an amazing setup with the pool in the back that is only steps away from the ocean! The sunsets are truly amazing as everyone else has commented. And while the furnishings themselves are starting to show some age, Janet and Tomas take really good care of it - and the guests while there! The location is perfect with restaurants nearby : we loved Hemingways, Las Brisas, and La Forkette. But don’t pass up the chance to have Tomas make dinner for your group while there - it was delicious! My husband absolutely loved his massage from Janet as well. The bedrooms are situated so that each couple (we had three couples) had privacy, and we had a huge table to eat and play cards as well as a great kitchen. I really appreciated that there were tissues in the house - rare for a rental, as well as plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. Janet cleaned each day so towels were always clean too! Chip was very informative and supplied us with our golf carts, which let us explore a bit and go to the grocery and restaurants (one of our party recently had knee surgery so he couldn’t walk a lot). The beach is wonderful to walk along and some of us walked every day! We felt spoiled and like we were in paradise!

An incredible place to stay!
My friends and I truly loved this place. When we arrived, Tomas, the house manager, met us in the driveway. He was super nice and gave us a quick tour. He checked on us every day. The house is a great set up for a group. The bedrooms are big and spread apart. They were fairly sound proof as well. Our early birds and night owls didn’t bother each other at all. The house is well stocked with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
The pool/patio/beach are all nice and fairly private. The sunsets are incredible! The beach is very dog friendly and we occasionally had one stop by to say hi. We loved that!
We had a spa day with Tomas’ wife, Janette. She is lovely and gives a great massage. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. They are dog friendly too!
I think there is an issue with petty theft in the general area (not worse than any other places I’ve been though) so it was nice the house had a security guard patrolling at night. We felt totally safe and secure.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I can’t think of a single negative thing!

Pura Vida
We came down with 4 couples (friend for 35+ years)! The property was amazing- stunning sunsets each night from the infinity pool! Delicious meals from the local restaurants! Rented 2 golf carts from Chip-fellow ECU grad! Did lots of exploring, sunset cruise, River boat tour and walks on the beautiful beaches. Janet gave us amazing massages and facial! Thank you Greg and Mackenzie!

Wonderful stay for our four families
We had a wonderful time here in April for our spring break trip! We were four families -- 8 adults and 5 kids ages 11-12 -- and the house was a great fit for us. We really appreciated that there were 4 bedrooms with king beds and private bathrooms, and it was nice that the bedrooms didn't share any walls to make them extra quiet (except for the ocean and the birds!). The loft room was nice and big for the kids, and a good spot for them to hang out and watch a movie. We all loved the pool! It was just the right size for us, and if we got bored, the ocean was right there with some fun big waves to play in! A few restaurants and groceries are within walking distance, and it feels less touristy than some of the other beach communities. Several of us got massages and facials from Janet, which were wonderful, and chef Miguel made us a meal our first night there with enough food to stretch to a second night. The house itself is in need of repair in several areas, and I am told the owners are aware and planning some updates. Nothing got in the way of our enjoyment, however. We made lasting memories in Costa Rica and this was a great place to stay for our group!

Unreal experience. We were so spoiled the entire time. The house was big and beautiful and clean. Thomas was a great host. Anything we needed, he was there. Janet gave us all massages and facials. Security guards walked the premises the entire time. Very well kept property. We will be back for sure!

AHMAZING!
I honestly don't know where to start with this review. We had such an amazing vacation. The house was absolutely perfect for our group and Greg and Mackenzie are wonderful hosts. We had to contact them a couple times regarding questions we had and they always responded immediately. The house is, in my opinion, the best one on Playa Potrero. I told Greg I almost didn't want to leave such a raving review because it may make it difficult for us to rent this property again.
It has everything you could possibly need from everything in the kitchen, to nice beach towels and a cooler to use. It is situated perfectly on the beach. We spent so much time just hanging out on the patio and in the pool and grilling lunch or dinner. The town of Potrero is a little quieter than the more touristy areas down the road in Flamingo or Tamarindo which was perfect for us. We did try and walk to a few places, which is totally doable, 10 or 15 minute walk depending on where you go, but we recommend renting a golf cart and don't make the mistake we did of waiting until you get there to rent them. Rent in advance otherwise there may not be any available. We were able to find one but we really needed 2, for our party of 8 but we managed with what we had. We used Greg's recommendation of Dervin at Yellowfin for just about everything, transportation to and from the airport, a couple tours, etc. If you are lucky enough to have Jeffrey as a guide you will for sure have fun, he was a wonderful guide. Greg's property is absolutely perfect. We can't forget Tomas and Janet!! They are wonderful people working for Greg. A few of us partook of Janet's massages and she is amazing!! Massage poolside? How much happiness can you stand? One of the ladies in our group had a pedicure and it was outstanding. We will be returning with our children and their families at some time in the future. Pura Vida!!

Amazing views!!!
A group of 10 of us had an incredible week at Greg’s place. That view never gets old! The location is great, just a small walk to restaurants, shops and the grocery store, we also rented a golf and ventured out a bit further. Greg is very responsive and helpful with everything! Playa Potrero is an awesome little town and we all can’t wait to go back!

Such an incredible place to stay! We had a group of 10 people and we had plenty of room in the house. The house is absolutely beautiful, right on the beach and walking distance to so many cool restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are coming to Potrero.

Awesome Vacation Location!
Location, location, location - this property is hard to beat!
Our group consisted of three adult-couples. The beach/ocean/view and pool were all AMAZING! We spent hours lounging in and around the pool, swimming and fishing in the ocean and walking the beach. The sunsets were outstanding and provided a great show every night. The house has a great set up with plenty of outdoor space to lounge, cook and dine. It also has an open kitchen/dining area inside making it easy for people to gather/hang/cook and eat. The bedrooms provided any needed privacy (along with AC and ensuite bathrooms)!
The biggest problem was not wanted to leave the house to explore Potrero and the surrounding areas! However, exploring is a must! It was great to have so many things close by. There are grocery stores, restaurants, and bars all within a few miles. There are numerous beaches nearby each with its own characteristics and bars and restaurants. We walked or drove golf carts almost everywhere we went. We highly recommend renting golf carts from Chip & Jennifer - the golf carts made everything more accessible. Chip and Jennifer were wonderful to work with and provided very helpful information about the area!
We also utilized Yellowfin for our airport transportation as well as a few excursions. Dervin, Daniel and their crew were great and super easy to work with. A special thanks to Jeffery for driving us around and showing us some amazing sights! And to Freddy for the snorkling/fishing assistance!

Wow
This house is incredible…my favorite vacation spot ever. We liked it so much that we will be reserving again in 2023 (but I will not say when so the date stays open😊). Greg and MacKenzie are wonderful owners….very engaged and helpful before, during, and even after our trip. Tomas and Janet are so nice and we’re always there for us. Be sure to ask Tomas to prepare meals for you…muy delicioso! The area is spectacular, but the house itself is by far the best part. Pool is amazing and literally right on the beach. Steps away from a very calm ocean, and the sunsets are the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Mix in a sunset cruise with Dervin, golf cart rentals from Jennifer and Chip (definitely do this), cows wandering around the beach and drinking from our pool (you read that correctly!!)… just can’t say enough about this house, these people and this area. Book it now

Excellent vacation. The Villa and property were well maintained. Private security guard made us feel safe. Tomas cooked several excellent meals snd Janet have very good massages. Derwin was great arranging all transports and excursions. Chip worked out great with the golf cart rentals. Great private location.

Amazing Vacation!!
We had an amazing time visiting Costa Rica and staying at this lovely home. Greg and McKenzie were super responsive and helpful...really great to work with! The house is beautiful and it was amazing to be right on the beach and have a pool. The service providers they use are fantastic! We loved utilizing Janet's spa services and she was very professional. Tomas's food was very good. Alexandra at LEP and Chip at golf cart rentals both went above and beyond to help us and ensure we had the best experience possible. We would definitely like to go back again!

Pros:
This property was beautiful and perfect for my family. We were a party of 11, between 13 to 53 yrs old - EVERYONE enjoyed the beachfront villa and pool! With 5 air-conditioned bedrooms complete with an ensuite in each room and a fantastic great room, there was plenty of room for my party to relax and enjoy. Truly the only "complaint" I heard from my kids was the fact there was no big screen tv...but really, we didn't travel all the way to CR to watch tv 🤷🏻♀️.
There is a washer & dryer available for use which was fantastic- we were able to pack light and wash our clothes in the villa. Also no need to bring beach towels as there were plenty provided!
Tomas & Janet were so accommodating- we took advantage of Tomas' chef services a few evenings and it was DELICIOUS. Janet's massages were so relaxing, I had to squeeze in a 2nd appt. before we left.
We rented a couple of golf carts thru Chip & Jennifer, and tho we didn't get to meet them we did have the pleasure of meeting Tom and Erin who dropped off and picked up the carts directly to/at the Villa- top notch experience!
Dervin from Yellowfin Tours was fantastic- from airport transfers to ATV to snorkeling- such a wonderful experience - making memories!!
Cons:
1. The sliding doors were difficult to slide in the bedrooms and we were missing the keys to one of the doors leading to the pool. The main sliding doors in the great room were perfect tho, so it didn't bother us too much & Tomas was able to retrieve the missing keys a few days later.
2. The washrooms were supposed to be supplied with shampoo, conditioner, soap & bodywash but 3 of the 5 did not have any when we arrived - Janet quickly rectified that and sent some over the next day.
3. We had a lot of rain this past week and experienced a leak in one of the bedrooms and adjoining washroom. Jimmy quickly assembled a team to patch the roof and fix the leak.
4. We only really used the kitchen for cooking breakfast... the only thing I can think of that was missing were scissors - nowhere to be found. Def. need scissors in the villa 😊
Overall, all the cons were rectified because of the wonderful team employed. Would MOST DEFINITELY return and stay here again!! Thank you, Greg & MacKenzie for opening up ur home!! We loved it!!❤

Graduation Trip
Janet and Tomas who live on the property in a casita were extremely helpful. Tomas cooked us dinner the first night we arrived and since it was late and all the restaurants were closed. Janet gives a great massage. Lovely people to be nearby. Walking distance to Hemingway's restaurant was a definite plus.

Amazing anniversary trip!
After rebooking for 1 year later due to covid we finally took our 40th anniversary trip. This property is spectacular! The location, the pool, the beach, to caretakers and even the local food establishments could not have been any more enjoyable. We had Tomas prepare most of our meals and his wife Janet did multiple massages and facials for the group which were wonderful and very professional. She even has her aroma therapy, music, and all the proper tables etc. and did the massage on the patio in front of the ocean! Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed in any way with anything about the property.

Great Place wonderful Host
Just got back from the property.
I cant say enough about the house, the owner and Tomas, Janet and especially Dervin.
When we arrived we had a couple of hiccups but after a call to Greg they were quickly resolved and being he was in area at the same time stopped by introduced himself and made sure all was ok.
He even lent us his personnel fishing rod to go fishing.
Tomas is a wonderful chef and his creations were amazing.
Each one of us got a massage from Janet even a mini massage for our 5 year old granddaughter.
What ever we needed we placed a call to Dervin and he was on it immediately no matter what time it was or what we needed.
We went jet skiing, horse back riding, ATV tour and Fishing was a wonderful experience and hope to be able to return one day.

We absolutely loved this property! We loved the location right on the beach, to die for sunsets, and great location to everything we wanted to do while in Costa Rica. The owner was very responsive and helpful prior to our arrival and Thomas and Janet were a pleasure to work with while there. We had several meals prepared by them and it was so good! Thank you!

Most amazing sunset views on the Playa!
We loved our visit to Potrero! The owner Greg was so helpful to us in advance of our trip giving us recommendations of local restaurants and answering our endless questions (this was our first time to Costa Rica). He is a truly gracious host. And the property manager was also very responsive to any questions we had. Regarding the house itself, you could not be closer to the ocean! And the sunset views were stunning. We spent time every sunset in the infinity pool relaxing and watching the dramatic sky changing colors, each sunset unique, never repeating itself from one evening to the next. Truly inspiring! We also rented golf carts which really paid off as we were able to explore all of Potrero without the complications of a rental car. Our family will be talking about this trip for years to come!

Dream Destination
Villa Corazon was an absolute beautiful home and property. We could not have asked for a better experience. The location was steps from the black sandy beach. The pool was perfect for the evenings after a long day of exploring and the sunsets were breathtaking. The layout of the homes was perfect for our two families (total of 11 of us). Each bedroom provided its own privacy with bathroom and air conditioner, making it very comfortable. The kitchen was adequate for our needs, there were plenty of plates, utensils, pans and cups. Also nice to have laundry facilities on the premises, we went threw a lot if towels. Tomas and Anna were a pleasure and very helpful with information. It was also nice to have the extra security on the property that I believe was Tomas' son. We stayed a total of 7 days - we enjoyed going to Hemingways and La Forketta. It was easy to get around town with the use of the Golf Carts from Chip and Jennifer. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property, we would definitly stay here again in a minute.

Family vacation in Costa Rica
We just returned home after an absolutely fabulous time in Protrero Costa Rica at Villa Corazon!! Words can not even describe how perfect this house is! The air conditioned bed rooms with the open large kitchen living area worked so well for our family of 10. My family spent many hours enjoying the pool and beach and ocean. We were very fortunate to have Tomas cook a meal for us that was absolutely delicious! We wished we were more organized and arranged more but we kind of just took things a day at a time and enjoyed many delicious meals at local restaurants. Janet cleaned for us and did a fantastic job appreciate her so much for this. We did not rent a golf cart but if we are fortunate to return again that is one thing we would do differently especially for grocery runs. However it is definitely within walking distance but water beer ice juice all the heavy stuff a lot to carry back. Overall the trip of a lifetime for my kids and grandkids so happy we chose Villa Corazon! Greg you have a great thing going there thank you for all your help, your beautiful home and for having top notch staff! We hope to return again.

Loved this VRBO!
The location of this house is unbeatable. You have a pool and the beach just steps away from the patio. Each bedroom has an AC and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has good appliances and plenty of plates for a large group but might need a bit of upgrading on some items such as mixing bowls, etc. The house easily accommodated our group of 9 which included 3 children. We would return there in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic week in Potrero, the property was absolutely amazing. The location is unbelievable, the house is very comfortable and well appointed, and the host and staff were fantastic in their hospitality and attentiveness!

Great house, great location, great time spent with friends
We just returned from an amazing week at Corazon Del Mar and had a wonderful week full of adventure and relaxing. Our group of 12 enjoyed the set up of the house with the en suite bathrooms and great room layout. Tomas and Janet were so helpful and take great care of the property. Janet’s massages and facials were among the best we ever had. The outdoor area with the pool, patio and tiki bar were great. We swam all day long and enjoyed the most amazing sunsets from the patio each night. The pool needs a little TLC as there are broken tiles that can be sharp. The kitchen and bbq has everything you need to cook great meals and the fridge stocking service was so helpful!
Definitely use Yellowfin for all of your transportation and activity needs, they are so helpful and have great pricing. We spent a day at Buena Vista Adventure park, surfed in Tamarindo, went to Brasilito for an amazing dinner a Patagonia and caught the local rodeo.
The location is great with restaurants and the MerKdo just a short walk down the beach. Castillo has great food and amazing drinks, visit the the Garden for great food and drinks in a fun outdoor setting the kids can run around in.
Enjoy how slowly time passes in Costa Rica, it is just what we needed! Pura Vida!

Great house for couples trip
Just got back from our stay at Corazon Del Mar and we are already planning our next visit. From the very start of the planning, Greg was helpful and responsive, patiently answering all of my questions. Tomas and Janet take excellent care of the property and enjoyed Tomas' cooking many times during the week. Janet gives great poolside massages too!
The property is perfect for a large group - each bedroom has its own en-suite and air conditioning. The property is directly on the beach, and the views are spectacular. The pool is gorgeous with plenty of seating and bar areas. The outside space is so incredible that people were walking up from the beach asking us how to rent it!
We rented golf carts from Chip and Jennifer and enjoyed getting to know the area. There are some great restaurants within a short golf cart ride, and we always felt safe in the area. We also used the transportation recommended by Greg (Yellowfin) and received outstanding service.
We seriously can't think of a single aspect of this trip that could be better. Just book this place!!

Our stay was amazing! We loved everything! The house location is great-best view ever! Definitely rent golf carts-Jennifer and Chip are great to work with.
The house does need to be updated but worked well for our family of 14.
Bring lots of cash! We did not bring nearly enough expecting to use our credit cards for the tours. If you do they charge a 13% charge on top!

Christmas in Costa Rica
Our family of 11 loved the house & area of Costa Rica. We picked this house over other choices because of the quiet beach, en suite bathrooms, awesome sunset view, good reviews, & pool. We weren’t disappointed. The owner emailed & called me to answer my detailed questions. We highly recommend yellowfin and used them for airport transportation (very easy to find), surf lessons (all 5 participants could surf by the end of the lesson), zip lining (through huge wild cashew nut & Guanacaste trees), and a 44 foot catamaran rental (employees were very kind to our 77 year old mother and lunch was yummy). We found the house well stocked with supplies and loved cooking together while looking out at the wonderful view. The sunsets each evening were a reason to stop what we were doing & watch together with a glass of wine. We enjoyed buying & cooking with local ingredients from the Super Wendy. We took a golf cart, but could have walked. After visiting busy Tamarindo, we were even happier with our quiet beach. We appreciated all the seating groups inside & outside the house. Four women of our group enjoyed massages from Janet. My 10 year old son found lots of sand dollars on our beach. It was beautiful to swim while looking at mountains. The house came with beach towels, boogie boards, & 2 kayaks. We would come back and recommend to friends.
