We enjoyed the property amenities which accommodated our 4-generation family. The kids and grandkids loved the pool and the dock

Overall the property fit our needs. Although, the floors and ceiling areas (baseboards, vents, returns, fans in bath rooms) were not clean.

We enjoyed the property, but wished there was more to do in area. I found the yellow sheets in a suitcase. Some one was playing a trick on me. Sorry. My husband said the air conditioning filter should be changed for better efficiency

Our family group of age 3 to 75 had a wonderful time at the house. Everything was just as described in the listing. Everyone especially enjoyed the pool and deck area. The beds were comfortable and it was fabulous to have 6 bathrooms for our group. The only issue we had was the bugs. Be sure to bring your insect repellant!

We enjoyed our stay at Fishing Cove, everyone enjoyed the pool. The pool was well taken care of. Location was very peaceful and quiet. Bedrooms were spacious and located apart from each other. We enjoyed sitting outside on the big deck with awning to block midday sun.

This home was just right for our 22 member family. The deck was a delightful place to relax in the early morning sun and the kids devised so many games to play there throughout the day. It is a bird watchers paradise in the early mornings and evenings. The board walk to the water was so peaceful and quiet each morning. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The house accommodated our two folks with disabilities -the lift and so many first floor bedrooms were accessible and easy to use. The beds were great throughout and plenty of bathrooms. Ginger, the owner, was so responsive and generous. It was an easy house to live in and to enjoy everyone being together. Thank you

this was a terrific house for our big family, plenty of room for everyone!!! loved the seclusion of it. we spent most of our time on the back deck and in the beautiful pool, caught crabs off the dock and did some kayaking, i would definitely rent it again, thanks Virginia for sharing your home!!!!

This property is very private and a perfect getaway. Loved the idea of having your own bathrrom. Pool was fun. House needs some deep cleaning. But, when you have 6 adult women, we see things others do not. All in all, we had a great fun time. Ages of women were 60 - 81.

We had a great time at Fishing Cove. We traveled to Assateaugue Island, Hoopers Island, went canoeing, swimming in the pool, had family dinners, visit with relatives. It was a happy week. Just remember to bring your mosquito repellant and sunblock.

The location and pool were great. We brought our own kayaks and found it easy to launch our flotilla from a space near the dock where we did some fishing. The pool was great and it had lots of lounge chairs which was a big plus.
As to the interior, the recently renovated was beautiful and well stocked. We could for a multitude easily. The layout of the house was great for housing several families with teenagers and a baby. On the disappointing side we’re the beds. They are full size not queen Iin the suites which does not work well for two adults. In the twin rooms the mattresses were too small for the beds which is okay for children but not for older teens. Maybe the next Reno project?
All in all, a great vacation.

Family Reunion
I wanted to give this a four star rating but there are a few shortcomings with this property. The positives are the owner is a delight and responds quickly to issues, the pool and deck are great, kitchen well equipped, plenty of seating around deck. The negatives are the mattresses are old and need replaced, one of the deck umbrellas is broken, towel rack broken, ceiling fan not working, rowboats advertised on website not useable. Other things that are not the fault of owner but renters should be aware of: the inlet to the bay is full of jellyfish and not swimmable and mosquitoes and biting flies are abundant. Bring lots of bug spray and be prepared to use it. Having said this my family had a fun time and the scenery is lovely.

Very spacious, wonderful patio!
Our family group really enjoyed our stay. The home is larger than it appears in photos and was quite spacious for our group of 14. We used the pool and outdoor patio extensively - an excellent gathering spot. The bedrooms and kitchen are well appointed. Bath and beach towels are supplied (although we had to re-wash before use as they were a bit musty smelling). We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Great house for large group. Plenty of space to gather and also small areas for quiet conversation. Lots of bedrooms so people can have there personal space.

Extended-family winter weekend in Cambridge
Highly recommend this rental property! Secluded in a beautiful location. Plenty of space for three families and grown children (five couples and four singles) with room to spare. Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights' stay together. Easy drive to Cambridge for our father/grandfather's 90th birthday in between. Well equipped, everything was as advertised - no surprises.
Suggestions for property owners: some furnishing and window treatments could use updating. Heat works really well, but house temperature was @ 78 degrees when we arrived. Managed by setting thermostats on HOLD @ 62 until it was back in control. May want to check default HEAT programs.

Great family weekend!
Home and homeowners were very accommodating to our family before and during our weekend stay. We had bedrooms for everyone and home provided all amenities needed. Would definitely consider revisiting in the future.

We were in town for a wedding in Oxford. With such a large family, this was the perfect place for us all to stay for the weekend that was close enough to the wedding venue. The home was beautiful and spacious with spectacular views of the bay. Relaxing and peaceful while sitting on the dock watching my son fish. Everything we could need was provided with this home. The owner, Virginia, was very gracious and answered all my questions. Thank you for such a wonderful weekend away, with family, in Cambridge.

The property was lovely. We really enjoyed the pool and grounds. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and implements. Loved having 2 refrigerators.
The ice maker in one was not working and the other took 2 days before it started to work.
All of beds had thin and hard mattresses that were pretty uncomfortable for our old bones.
Some of the fans were difficult to figure out-esp the one in the master on 2nd floor. The A/C could not be adjusted and the house was warm esp on the 2nd floor.
The wife was as advertised very slow. This presents some issues with so many people using it.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would rent there again if the mattress issue was addressed.

Had a great vac house was roomy , loves the pool and decks . Couldn’t swim in the water by the docks because of jelly fish :( ! Only issue was the AC downstairs wasn’t working the best and most days it was 81 in the house during the day and around 76 at night vary hot and uncomfortable to sleep most nights , AC upstairs was nice and cold . I would definitely revisit in the future.

We rented this house as a reunion get-together and it was absolutely perfect. We were 10 adults and 6 children. The bedroom configurations worked great and there was plenty of space for relaxation, games and what not.
The pool was the highlight. Large, clean and spacious enough for big kids in the deep end and littles in the shallow and plenty of lounge chairs. The lake is not for swimming but good for kayaking/rowboating but keep in mind that it is a marsh so bugs are rampant. This should be expected and not a surprise.
Ginger was an excellent host and was very responsive to any and all inquiries that we had.....and we had many! All lines and ample towels were provided as well as cleaning supplies and trash bags, which was greatly appreciated.
As for the town - not much to do in Cambridge. Walkable downtown with shops and restaurants and a children's play center. Plan on providing your own entertainment. Grocery stores, fast food and a great bakery and coffee shop are all close by.
We are considering coming back next summer as it was really a perfect and relaxing week.

This home was perfect for our family get away with multiple couples and lots of small children. The pool was secured from the kids but also easily accessible. We did a lot of cooking and were pleasantly surprised at every meal with just how stocked the kitchen was and convenient for serving big meals. Also plenty of outside seating for everyone which was very convenient. We had a minor issue with the air conditioning early in the week and the owner couldn’t have been more responsive and pleasant! She made sure the issue was fixed as quickly as possible. We can’t wait to go back next summer!!

The issues of cleanliness started as soon as we walked in the door, there were flies everywhere and it took a couple of hours to clear them out.
In the master bedroom bathroom there was an unplugged refrigerator that was moldy inside.
Two of the draws in one of the main refrigerators were not clean.
The most revolting thing was the dishwasher, it was dirty and stunk. Even after running a cleaner through it and scraping out the scum it still had a revolting smell.
One of the toilets is very badly stained and the showers in some of the bathrooms are very slow to drain. Cleaning in general is very poor, under one unit there was clumps of hair.
The heat in the house was overwhelming and was not resolved for two days. We tried to get air flow through the house but some of the windows were stuck shut and others had no screens. Then if you could open a window it was very very dirty!
There was a number to call about cleaning issues but, this needs a major clean, for it to be this dirty this early in the season is shocking.

60th birthday celebration
The perfect house to celebrate my husbands 60th with all of our favorite people. Plenty of room for all 18 of us. The pool was so much fun and we rented a boat and took boat rides all weekend launching off from the private peer. Lots of fishing and crab picking. Didn't leave the house at all!

Perfect for multiple families
To say my family of 15 was impressed with Fishing Cove is an understatement! The privacy the setup allowed for was perfect given our large group. We had 5 families with 6 children under the age of 6 and everyone had good naps and good night’s sleep (which is a huge feat when traveling with small children)! The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of linens, rollaway beds, and even a pack-n-play for the little ones. Ginger is a fantastic host and was so sweet in explaining where the key was when I called her upon arrival (let’s just say I was overthinking it!). We just wish after 3 years of living in MD we had found this rental sooner, so if you’re thinking about spending a relaxing weekend in Cambridge, book this house now! You won’t find a better deal out there!

Great Place for a Big Family
This property was great. We stayed in the winter so our experience was a bit different than the average summer guest, but the view of the bay was beautiful. The house is huge and had plenty of space for the 14 of us. The house is in need of a couple of repairs and could probably use a new coat of paint here or there, but is generally very nice. The only big issue we had was that the heat in the 2nd floor was kind of overbearing and we couldn't quite figure out how to turn it down. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend to a large family who wants to spend time together but also have room to escape.

Great Place Fell Short of Its Mark
Virginia has a beautiful property that is just secluded enough to be away from neighbors and busy streets but not too far away from cute little towns like Cambridge and Easton. It was big and cozy enough to hold my party of 10 guests comfortably.
Unfortunately I have to say this rental fell short of expectations. We booked this property because it advertised as having a hot tub. When you search using VRBO you are able to filter by amenities. Virginia's property was listed in my search results for rentals that are pet friendly have include a hot tub.
Upon arrival guests quickly realized there is no hot tub on the property. I gave a quick call to Virginia and she expressed that there was never a hot tub on the property and that her listing doesn't include a hot tub in amenities. I quickly double checked all this information as soon as we hung up. I have screen shots showing the rental was listed with a hot tub. This can be chalked up to an honest mistake as I am not sure who put Virginia's listing together and I understand websites and navigating computers is challenging for the older generation.
Secondly the listing is described as pet friendly. Virginia was originally on board to allow my 4 year old Cattle dog/Pitbull mix and then at the last second (2 days before check in) she informs me that her insurance doesn't cover pitbull mixes. Although I can't definitively say this was a bluff it sure felt like one. If you are looking to rent the property because you are expecting to bring along your pets make sure you ask about the property's insurance policy concerning pets/breeds up front. We had to scramble for a last minute pet sitter which coud have been avoided if there was more transparency included in the listing.
Virginia's property was a little over budget for our group but we figured it would have been worth it considering it was listed as meeting all of our expectations. We would not have booked this listing for the price if we knew there was no hot tub and that our dog would not be able to join us for the weekend.
Those things aside, if you dont care for the hot tub or bringing your dog a long then this place is perfect for a family get away. My only advise is to double check with the owner on everything before you agree to rent.
