About this house rental
Large lakefront home right on beautiful Lake Superior with year-round vacation rental. 200 feet of lakefront with stairs to lake and beach area. Multi-story house (2,000 Sq Ft) with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, Sauna, and attached garage with work area. Open kitchen, dining, living room, and den looking out to the lake and surrounding woods. Decks off of both the living room and master bedroom for enjoying your morning coffee while watching and listening to the Loons in the Lake or unwinding in the evening while viewing the gorgeous sunset.
Bike to Calumet Waterworks Park, Kayak in Lake Superior, Sauna in the evening and cool off in the Lake. Only six miles to Historic Calumet where you can shop, dine, and sight-see.
The house will accommodate a large family or group of all ages quite comfortably. Family-friendly (extra guest fee for guest total over 5) and pet-friendly (extra pet fee).
Bike to Calumet Waterworks Park, Kayak in Lake Superior, Sauna in the evening and cool off in the Lake. Only six miles to Historic Calumet where you can shop, dine, and sight-see.

We spent a great week at Stella’s Hideaway swimming, sauna-ing, hiking, biking and exploring. We wish we had had more time. The view and sunsets were spectacular and the house had everything we needed. It was a great central location to get to all of the mountain bike trailheads easily, and Calumet was close for restocking provisions. We hope to be back soon.

Great visit with our adult children who were visiting in the area…they liked the sauna especially…plenty of room for games…I liked the additional table in the dining room and the restful atmosphere…😊

We had a smaller group and it was the perfect space for the 5 of us plus two dogs. Space had everything needed for a week long stay to be comfortable and the store isn’t too far of a drive for any other needs.
Most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in Michigan. The beach was awesome but it was really only warm enough on this last day for prolonged swimming. The sauna is a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again if we ever re-visit the area, its very welcoming

There’s something about walking into a cozy home with windows opening onto the expanse of Lake Superior that is literally breathtaking.
We were immediately wowed by this place. It has a ton of space and enough beds for 15. Keith was communicative, welcoming, and thought ahead of everything so we never needed to reach out the whole time, though it was comforting knowing he was in the neighboring home. This house is situated on a large property with neighbors on either side, but far enough away to feel secluded and private. The sauna and the lakeside were by far the best of the many wonderful things about this place. Such a perfectly peaceful place with plenty to do: kayak, ride bikes, take saunas, rest on the large rocks by the beach or on the bench overlooking the huge lake and beautiful sunsets, reading a book next to open windows, listening to the waves. The only thing we regret about our trip there was not spending enough time at Stella’s Hideaway. Just a perfect place, and we hope to return again!

Keith was very helpful. We had a flat on the way up and he gave us information on finding a place to get the tire fixed quickly. The view was spectacular and the amenities were amazing. The first VRBO house that had absolutely everything we needed.

Can’t rave enough about the accommodations at Stella’s Hideaway! Everything was well stocked, clean and comfortable beds. The views were great, the rocks were even better! The location was perfect for checking out mine tailings and heading up to copper harbor. Calumet has a really tasty coffee shop and cute stores. We stayed for 4 nights and found lots of agates and even some lake worn copper to add to our ever growing rock collection. Sifted through mine tailings and found some greenstone knobbies. The teens loved the sauna and took their first Lake Superior polar plunge. We are already planning to stay again, we really loved the comfort of the home and it’s location. Thank you Keith for a great stay!

Stella’s Hideaway is the best place we’ve stayed at in the UP. Our family has been coming up to the UP in the spring for the past 5 years and have stayed at numerous VRBO homes in various states. This home was by far the best.
It has everything you need in the home. It has plenty of bedrooms that made it perfect for our adult kids and our grandkids to have a room. It’s fully stocked and the owner provides a special bowl of MI made snacks. It’s very clean. The owner was very nice to deal with. And, we could bring our 2 little yorkies on vacation with us. I am familiar with the area, I knew which places we wanted to drive to. This home was in the perfect location for about a 20 mile drive to where we wanted to go. Being right on Lake Superior we were able to find the glowing stones there and on nearby beaches. Close to Copper Harbor and Seaman museum in Houghton and Jam Pot in Eagle Harbor. It’d be great to stay here during the warmer weather as they provide many kayaks, bikes, outdoor games. Would definitely stay here again.

It was exactly what we needed and wanted in our getaway. Beautifully set on the shores of Superior. Lots of room in the house and on the beach. Will definitely be staying here again! Sauna is perfect as well for a little unwinding. The sounds of the waves put me right to sleep at night

Such an amazing place and the views are spectacular!!! Everything you need is all right there for you and you’re not too far from town if you need anything else! Don’t forget to try out the sauna, you will love it! We’ll definitely be back!!!!

The property was easy to find and the view was gorgeous. Plenty of room for us and both of our kids to be together or get away from each other. Disappointed that there was no snow but the house had plenty of puzzles and games that we enjoyed. Communication with the property owner was excellent. Have already booked the next stay!

Stella’s Hideaway was great for our family trip to visit our son at Michigan Tech. The sauna and beach were awesome, and the location was convenient to Calumet. The home is stocked really well, and offered all the comforts of home.

We had a wonderful time using Stella’s Hideaway as a base camp to explore the Keweenaw. It was exactly as described, with plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and inviting. There were helpful notes about what to see and do both on the property and in the area. We are already discussing our next trip and how we will bring others with us to enjoy this beautiful home on the shore.

Beautiful setting on shores of Lake Superior. House is comfortable and clean. Kitchen is well stock with everything you need to cook and some pantry staples. Plenty of room to spread out. Plenty of essentials like soap, shampoo, hair dryers, beach towels. Nice assortment of recreational toys- bikes, kayaks,scooters, yard games. Our favorite vacation home. We already have reservations for our next stay.

This was a great property with all of the essentials needed for a fantastic family vacation. Plenty of space and the hospitality shown to the guests was amazing. I would highly recommend Stella's Hideaway to anyone looking to escape to Michigan's Upper Peninsula!

My partner and I (and our dog!) loved our stay at Stella's Hideaway! I truly can't recommend the house enough. The view of the lake is breathtaking and the shore access was a treat. We also loved being able to easily walk to the local park and park trail. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of space. The hosts have done an incredibly thoughtful job creating an inviting and memorable place. We hope to return sooner rather than later!

Exactly what we needed. Warm and homey cottage with everything you could want or need. Private beach plus only a mile away from Calumet Water Works Beach- rock hunter’s paradise! We found agates, prehnite, quartz, jasper, rhyolite, amygdaloidal basalt, banded chert, yooperlites, and many others. Even though we had a lot of rain, we still went hiking in Gardners Nature area, Black River Sanctuary, and Horseshoe Harbor (which is beautiful). Sadly Brockway Mnt Rd was still closed for the season, but we did find a mineral store in Copper Harbor and bought a gorgeous piece of float copper. Always something to do in this area rain or shine. And so awesome to come home to Stella’s after a day of adventure! We will be coming back!

Stella's Hideaway is perfect for a large number of guests. The views are AMAZING. So many extra touches with books, games, treats, etc. Had a wonderful time!

First off I have to say Keith really has an eye for detail , he has thought of everything! The house is equipped with everything you need from a great reading library to all the sporting goods you could want. The view is just incredible ,the house is very comfortable and inviting . There were even local goodies in a welcome basket and a bottle of wine , we went out and bought a bunch to take home (fudge pasties)! Keith lives next door but you would never know anybody is around it feels really private. All in all this is one of our favorite places we have stayed top notch all the way. Thank you Keith for everything we really enjoyed it !

This home was everything it was advertised to be AND MORE. Stella's Hideaway is a beautiful home right on the shore of Lake Superior. It was very clean, comfortable and cozy and had all the amenities you would have at home. There was also a great selection of books, games and outdoor activities available. It was a joy to wake up in the morning, after a very comfortable nights sleep, to those wonderful lake views. We can't wait to come back.

We had the most relaxing and comfortable stay in this home. The views are stunning, the house is beautiful, clean and there is everything you could possibly need. We loved walking in the park just up the road (Gardeners nature trails) and cross country skiing Sweedtown). The town of Calumet is only 10 minutes away and has nice bars and restaurants with super friendly service. We will be back as soon as we can!

We, a family of 8, stayed for 3 nights. Plenty rooms, games, books for all age groups, from infant to senior. We enjoyed the winds and waves of the lake superior. Stary night without light polution is a memorable moment. Definitely I will revisit with my family!!

Keith was most helpful and accommodating, and even gave us the heads up on witnessing the most incredible northern lights show we’ve ever experienced! The sauna was peaceful and therapeutic, the views are amazing, and the Klask was epic! And the pups loved sniffing the freshest air on the planet.
