About this house rental
The HayJac House is a luxurious 2000 square foot fully remodeled and restored circa 1910, minimal traditional home located in historic downtown Bardstown one block from shops, restaurants and night life. Golf courses are also nearby.
The HayJac House is just 45 minutes from Louisville/Churchill Downs and centrally located on the World Famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail including bourbon distilleries in Bardstown, Nelson County.
The HayJac House offers you two large suites with king beds, luxury bedding, 4 large flat screen TV’s and sitting areas and they are all on the first floor.
The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully equipped for your culinary needs. The home has four exterior doors for easy access and is handicap accessible as well. The home also has full sized Speed Queen Washer and Dryer.
Your safety is one of our major concerns. There are 6 exterior security cameras in place. There are a total of 8 fire and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the entire home and attic. With construction just completed in 2018 the entire house is up to date with latest building codes and safety features.
In the unlikely event of a power failure, this beautiful home is equipped with a whole house standby electric generator.
Also, for your added comfort and pleasure the home is equipped with a whole house water filtration system to make your favorite bourbon and water drink tastes its best.
Relax at one of our four porches/patio areas after a fun day visiting our local attractions. If you enjoy grilling, there is an excellent Weber grill just off the back porch.

Hadorn’s Bakery is a family owned business that has been selling donuts and other pastries in Bardstown for nearly 90+ years and is a favorite of all the locals.

Hayjac is located perfectly. Just a block from Bardstowns’s downtown area. The Bourbon Trail is practically right outside the door. The property is one of best appointed I’ve ever stayed in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hated to leave! The furnishings were high end and we wanted for nothing. The attention to detail was unsurpassed. Enjoyed time on the back porch too. Was convenient to walk into town and the doughnut shop next door was the cherry on top! A big thank you to our hosts who were most accommodating and I would not hesitate to stay again!

Beautiful property, my husband and I both loved the house. The primary en-suite is incredible. Walking distance to shops, several restaurants and cocktail bars and great donuts just around the corner. Highly recommend this property for adults. Great base for touring several distilleries, Lincoln’s birthplace and Bernheim Forest. Jim is a great host. He took the time to check on our well being during a major rain storm, most appreciated.

Hayjac House is a perfect location for the bourbon trail. Walkable to so many restaurants in Bardstown. The house is just right for two couples. We enjoyed live music at Scout and Scholar both Friday and Saturday nights from the house’s patio. Our second stay won’t be our last!

The Hayjac home made our Bardstown’s visit incredible. The home is immaculate and has everything you need to compliment your visit. Everything was just a short walk away. The music from the brewery next door was an added bonus. The host Jim was extremely responsive and accommodating. Definitely will be back.

This was our first venture into the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and it absolutely could not have been better! The HayJac House in Bardstown was without a doubt the best property that we have ever stay at! This gem is perfect in every way! This was our second spring to stay here and we will be back. My husband and I love the master suite with huge bath, closet and a comfortable bed very similar to our own…..split king which elevates.
Tops for us:
Location…walk to anything downtown! Plus, Bardstown itself is great for bourbon tours, restaurants, Lincoln’s memorial, old cemeteries, beautiful countryside! Cleanliness, decor, comfortable furniture, cooling/heating, bath and kitchen products. I could go on and on….plus EVERYTHING WORKS! We have stayed here a total of eight nights in 11 months and have not had one complaint!
I asked my husband what he thought was the best thing and he said “Damn, everything is always perfect!”

The house has been finished beautifully. It is exceptionally clean. Host went above and beyond to make our stay special. It's within walking distance to downtown and many good restaurants. Great location to drive to nearby distilleries. We would definitely stay here again.

This is the most amazing VRBO! Wonderful location for the distilleries tours. Fun good restaurants within walking distance. Absolutely adorable house with many amenities and a well equipped kitchen. The HayJac house is a very comfortable home in the center of Bardstown. This is our second time here and it feels like "going home" to a favorite spot we've been to many times before. Located in the heart of the Bourbon Capital of The World, The HayJac house is the perfect place to launch your bourbon vacation adventures. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping and less than a 10 minute drive to 3 distilleries. The home is beautifully done and is probably the cleanest VRBO we've stayed in. Absolutely the best Bardstown property we have stayed at. Location was perfect for wondering around the town after a day around Kentucky. The house seems newly renovated with what no expense spared. Everything was very clean and new. Everything worked as it should. This property is in a league of its own in Bardstown. The house was beautifully remodeled with expensive finishes. The large primary suite was extraordinary! Everything that we needed was provided. The weather was warm enough to sit on the patio. The location is great! We could walk to dinner in downtown Bardsgown each night. The owner was responsive and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect for two couples. We had a wonderful stay at HayJac. The house was beautifully decorated and well equipped. There were several areas for us to gather. We especially enjoyed the back patio where we could enjoy live music from the restaurant next door. We visited Maker’s Mark and Mammoth Cave. We highly recommend HayJac for anyone staying in Bardstown.

We spent four wonderful days in Bardstown. The house was absolutely beautiful and Jim and Gina thought of everything! The location was great, we walked to the bakery every morning, and to dinner and shops in the evening. We were able to visit 10 different distilleries, most within 30 minutes of the house. I cannot say enough about this property, it was absolutely perfect. We are looking forward to coming back next year!

This was my first time staying in a VRBO. It was perfect. The home was beautiful inside and outside. We especially enjoyed sitting on the outdoor covered patio. The location was also great. Walkable to many areas of Bardstown. We also visited many distilleries nearby but drove there. If I ever visit again, I will stay here.

HayJac house is the place to stay while in Bardstown. This home will not disappoint you. There is more than enough space and essentials for two couples at the home. Jim and Gina have made sure their guests are comfortable by stocking the home with extra bath towels, toiletries, and kitchen essentials. They even thought of little things like small throw blankets for the cool mornings or evenings, extra wine and bourbon glasses and a supply of coffee. They were quick to respond to any communication. The home is nicely decorated and very clean. Hadorns bakery is next door and is a must to visit and other restaurants are within walking distance. The back patio is a great place to relax after a day on the Bourbon Trail.

It was everything mentioned in the listing an more. The house was so clean and had such nice details. - Master bed and bath were wonderful. They even supplied high end shampoo, conditioner, soap lotion etc. The Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed.
The location was great. - Walking distance to everything. There was a singer at the scout and scholar(the brew pub right next door - actually right in the back yard) on our last night. Wed sat in the back yard and just listened. - It was great. - And it was over at 10 pm so it wasn't loud at all if you did want to go to bed early.
Many recommendations from the owners, which we tried and agree with.

Very few rentals live up to their online pictures. The HayJac house exceeded our expectations & may be the nicest vrbo that we've stayed in. Our friends stayed with us for 2 nights and were very impressed. Jim was the perfect host. His place is within walking distance of the Oscar Getz Museum, restaurants and bars. All amenities are top notch. Close to all distilleries. Civil war museum is well done.
Was looking forward to the bakery next door, but they were closed for the week for a family vacation/reunion.. but many great places to eat in town. Would definitely come back for another visit.

The hosts made check in/check out so easy. They had tons of little extras that made the stay so nice and accommodating. The house was beautiful.
