About this cottage rental
Spacious, charming 1896 cottage at the top of quiet, magical footpath. Has a secluded, peaceful feel but is only a 2-3 min. walk to island grocery store, restaurants, coffee shop, ice cream, 5 min. to ferry and 8 min. walk to Sandy Beach. Also convenient for weddings at the Inn. Relax on the sun or open-air porches, read a book by the gas fireplace at night, grill your dinner on the back deck or pop in to Portland for a day trip on the ferry. The cottage retains a rustic feel, but various updates (e.g., comfortable beds) make this a delightful home-away-from-home for your relaxed island holiday. (Please note that guests bring their own sheets, but we provide blankets, pillows. duvets and bath towels) Welcome to the Coast of Maine! STHR-000215-2018

Comfortable and clean getaway. Amenities as stated. Comfy sofa and beds. The taxi there is $4 - so convenient. Enjoyed the back deck.

We stayed 5 nights at this cottage on Peaks Island and we loved it! There was plenty of space for my family (myself, husband, and 3 kids) to relax, sleep, and eat. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and plenty of dishes. Tim was excellent at reaching out to make sure everything was ok and ask if we had any questions. We had delicious pastries at Baba's and Unruly Girl's Cafe, wood fired pizza at Il Leone, ice cream at Down Front. We took day trips to Acadia National Park and Portland and the ferry was easy to navigate for both taking our car and just riding as passengers. We loved this house and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Charming house and convenient location a short walk from town. Host promptly & helpfully responded to questions. House was spacious and was great for a group with multiple areas to hang out, both inside and out.

Lovely very well maintained house very close to “Downtown” Peak’s Island.

We explored Peaks Island and Portland using this as our home base. Our stay was great and everything we needed. Communication with the property manager was great. He answered all of our questions and more!

My husband and I rented the cottage for our 36th wedding anniversay and were joined by our 2 kids and their partners and our baby granddaughter. We all loved the sunny deck in the morning and the sunny front porch in the afternoon where we could catch the sunset, or at least know when it was time to head down to the beach! In this part of Peaks, there are paths everywhere and we loved the one that went right down from the house directly to the grocery store. The neighbors were friendly and the area is magical! The house is really well-appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed. We cooked at home most of the 4 night stay. The beds are really comfy and the duvets were wonderful as it cooled down later in the week. It was great to have a grill so we could have a BBQ. All in all a great house in a primo spot!

FANTASTIC. LOVED the island pace. Beautiful cottage with charm in every room. Takes you back in time. Had everything we needed and soooo enjoyed our walks. Super easy to catch the ferry for a day in Portland. GREAT restaurants too. The nicest folks. Our host was amazing and communicated with us consistently. If you go once you will want to go back.

We truly just used property for the one queen bedroom, as we spent most of our time at a friend’s house, but it is a clean old Victorian camp cottage, just as described in listing! Comfy bed and plenty of fans for nice sleeping. Good location and easy communication with owner Tim!

We very much enjoyed our stay. We found the cottage to be comfortable and as advertised. The location was great. Communication with Tim was easy, and he was super responsive.

The front porch and rear deck meant that as the sun progressed across the house, there was always a place to soak it in or avoid direct rays. The charming house suited us very well. And the location was ideal, a short walk along the path to 'down front', the town around the ferry landing, or a nice bicycle ride around the island and along the seashore.

From the fragrant lilac flowers viewed out every window to the toasty propane “woodstove” in the kitchen to the quiet night sleeps on very comfortable beds, the cottage was simply wonderful. I loved the kitchen area best! I even did some cooking using the well supplied kitchen. The island people are friendly. I would recommend the one-hour golf cart tour to get acquainted with the island early in your stay. And the process of getting our car to and from the island was not stressful at all. I would highly recommend the cottage.

We enjoyed the peaceful and friendly neighborhood. It was a close walk from the ferry.

We were here to escape black flies back in NH.
A couple of notes: listing doesn’t expressly say bed linens are not included, and by the time you get the welcome letter, you’ve already booked. Also, having to wash, dry, and put away towels prior to departure, was awkward for me, so i added towels to the bed linens bag. Coffee maker is a regular drip style, not a “drop and press” (French press)
We love this beautiful, well kept cottage, it’s roomy, well laid out, plenty of amenities, lots of old charm, but very convenient living! Faves: front porch, street lights on the path to town, slate kitchen sink, gas heat (stove) in kitchen - we had a couple of very cold/windy days. We even closed living room and unused bedroom door to keep heat in kitchen area.
Bikes were a must for us. We brought a vehicle to carry all our bins, bags, bikes, and cooler. Well worth it.
Would we come back? You betcha!
Thank you for sharing your antique cottage!

Enjoyed our first ever visit to Peaks Island. Staying at this property only enhanced our visit.

Older house so the wind was blowing and making the house creak and groan, but stayed nice and warm. We were close to all the restaurants and shops. Unfortunately the majority of the restaurants were closed due to the season. We did get some awesome hiking and biking done.

Adorable 1895 cottage just a short walk to the general store and ferry dock using the paper trail in front. Sunny deck out back with a gas grill & a very nicely equipped kitchen. We were very comfortable there and the owners were very pleasant and easy to work with.

We booked the cottage for our honeymoon. We experienced a variety of weather conditions, but found the cottage cozy and comfortable in the cool rain or the warm, fine days. The island pace of life is magical. The cottage felt well loved with lots of different spots to read/relax. Owners are readily reachable and extremely pleasant.

Great week. House was great. Tim was so responsive when we lost power. He may want to re charge the flashlights and grab some more candles😜after the storm. Thanks Tim.

My family stayed at Tim’s beautiful house for a week and had such a wonderful, relaxing time. It’s easy to get to the house from the ferry (just up the road by foot and a very short drive by car) and so super easy to walk to the handful of restaurants, the coffee shop, and the store, and the beach from the house by way of the lovely footpath.
The house itself is charming— super old while also feeling modern and clean. We had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, the front porch was a perfect place to read, and the back porch was great for dinner.
The house is set somewhat closely amongst other houses,— the layout in that area is kind of a jumble— so there’s not a lot of seclusion (the other side of the island seems more suited for that) but we liked being in the cute, friendly, and bustling little community there.
We had a couple minor hiccups and Tim was extremely responsive, communicative and kind— he really was an excellent host! We hope to be able to spend another week there someday.

My sisters and I stayed here the night before my wedding (they stayed the night of the wedding also) and I couldn’t have dreamt of a better space. The house is beautifully and simply designed, so comfortable, and has amazing natural light. I loved the art especially the Andrew Wyeth prints. Getting ready in the morning with my bridesmaids there was plenty of space for us all and it was such a calm peaceful morning.

This cottage is nestled on a hilltop overlooking the harbor. It is a beautiful home and reminded me of my grandparents beach house; it was like stepping back in time. The home is perfectly appointed and we had a relaxing time there, connecting with each other. We will definitely return!

We were looking to try out island living at least for a couple of nights and the cottage totally met our needs. Loved the quaintness and historical nature of it. Walked around quite a bit and also had fun renting a golf cart for a couple of hours. Our next goal: a longer stay or stays.

Exactly what we were looking for for a couple of days to get away. Quaint island village, not commercialized. Cottage was as described, fun place to stay with lots of character.

Just the right amount of rustic, the house was charming and comfortable. The location is great—easy walk to market and beaches. Peak's Island is a treasure.

Loved the cottage, has great character, very clean and convenient location to ferries, restaurants. Best part of the island was Sandy Beach for the kids and riding the golf cart around the beautiful island!

This was our first time staying on the island and this cottage is well located within walking distance to shops & restaurants. The beaches are also walking distance. The cottage is spacious and the kitchen is well-stocked. Tim was very attentive and easy to communicate with. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!

We loved the island and the property. We traveled during peak season so the shuttle was expensive, ($120 for 6 of us), but that turned out to be fun too. The property has a few restrictions, so it’s not totally care free. But it’s certainly as charming as the island.
