This property was very clean, well equipped, comfortable, and the location was perfect. Stacy was easy to communicate with. Im sure there were many other properties in the area that we could have chosen for this vacation, but I can't imagine they could have been any better than this home. They even offer their guests live Lobsters to cook! Our thanks to the Stanley family. This vacation gave us a welcome relief from the Texas summer. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We all thoroughly enjoyed absolutely everything about this property! Location was fantastic! Just a short trip to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Lots of hiking, great restaurants. View from the deck was wonderful! Kitchen fully equipped, great grill! The one and only thing we can mention are the twin beds in third bedroom....difficult to sleep on.

Great location and well appointed house.

House was excellent and the owners where easy to work with.

The property is lovely, with a bright deck overlooking a small fishing harbor. This perfectly equipped and spotless home hosted our quintessential Maine experience. The location is quiet, yet it's easy to access Acadia and Bar Harbor. We will definitely return!

The harbor was such an unbelievable setting to take in from the back deck, especially at sunset. A five-minute walk to Thurston's made dinners very easy. We ate there every night. There are plenty of great hikes and sights to take in that are a 10-15 minute drive away and your main Bar Harbor and Acadia attractions are only 30 min away. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This property is situated on a quiet, working harbor in coastal Maine. The lobster boats, pleasure vessels and other boats are fun to watch.
This property is very quiet and it is still close to the charming downtown of Southwest Harbor, and still a short drive to the attractions of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. You will like the house and the location. We certainly did!

We had such an amazing time, staying at Homeport. It had everything needed to make our stay on the quiet side so peaceful and serene! Loved sitting on the deck and gazing at the harbor — so relaxing and such a wonderful getaway for our family!

Great house on the quiet side of the Quiet Side of MDI. Second year staying here and just as great as last year.

Great, comfortable home and super clean. Everything is included, even kayaks and a rowboat. Harbor view is lovely whether rain or shine! Food is only thing you need to bring or buy (grocery and restaurant options in the immediate vicinity are very limited so I'd have grocery shopped ahead of stay had I been more aware of that!)

The house was nicer than the photos showed. The owners should update with photos of current furnishings and finishes, which were better than the online images. A great house!

House was perfectly located on the harbor with an awesome classic Maine fishing view complete with lobsters available under the dock!
The house had been renovated, is modern and beautifully decorated. The kayaks and row boat were fun to have at our disposal.
Will definitely stay here for our next visit!

Comfortable house with nice deck overlooking bass harbor for coffee in morning or cocktails before dinner. Good restaurants close by. Great binder with suggested hikes and tours and restaurants.

Wonderful quiet location with beautiful harbor view. Immaculate house and lawn. Great deck for relaxing. Near to Acadia but away from crowds. Recommend Bass Harbor nature boat cruise for best view of Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Bought big lobsters from the working boat right off our dock--so delicious! Wonderful family vacation.

Wonderful property right on the water. Away from the crowds but close to all of the attractions. Extremely clean and great location!

The cottage was absolutely spotless and super comfortable. Very nice to have a garage for bikes and all that stuff. The location is removed from many of the big Acadia sights but we love that. Plenty to bike to (or walk to) and all so gorgeous. Loved having access to the rowboat. We did not kayak. The WiFi was on the fritz most of our stay (lightening strike prior to our arrival) but fixed by Friday. The kids had to bike to the library for WiFi until then which wasn’t the worst thing. So great, we’ve already rebooked for next year.

My family and I loved the peace and serenity of the property. It truly felt like home away from home. We didn't get to stay very long but the two days that we spent there we took advantage of the kayaks and rowboat available for our use. We prepared live lobsters and ate them gleefully. In the future, it would be good to have tools to crack the lobsters.
The owner came to check on us to make sure the temperature of the house was comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a storm that wiped out the wifi so we were unable to get access to internet unless you had a mobile hot spot. The library nearby was closed on Fridays so we went 10 min into town and found another library which was accommodating.
Overall, minus the lack of wifi, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Charming Maine Cottage
Our family enjoyed a relaxing and fun week at Home Port! The location by Bass Harbor was beautiful, and the cottage was clean, comfortable and had all the essentials we needed. We liked that the harbor waters were calm to kayak and the lobster pound restaurant was only a 5 minute walk away! We explored the lovely town of Southwest Harbor and Acadia, but just staying at the cottage was a vacation in itself! Thank you to the very responsive hosts for a delightful stay!

Great rental. Beautiful, clean, highly recommend
The house was great and I would highly recommend. It was clean, plenty of towels, blankets, pillows and linens. Beds were comfortable. The house has been updated so some listing pics don't match. (Watch the video). Upgrades are beautiful.
The house is in a quiet area. The back deck is beautiful with lots of seating. We enjoyed watching the sunrise/set and all the boats come and go. We used the kayaks and row boat which were a nice bonus to explore the area. The kids had fun searching for things during low tide. They had a lobster boat at the end of the dock and we were able to get some freshly hauled lobster for dinner one night.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal- including a lobster dinner. There is even a pancake grill. We did plan to use.the BBQ one night but the grill looked rusty. The one thing I might recommend replacing. It appears others may have grilled on foil. Bring a grill sheet if you plan to BBQ but for the one meal we used the inside George Forman style grill we found.
There is an AC unit but not sure it's placement cools off the bedrooms. The first night it was hot and humid upstairs so I was a bit concerned. It ended up cooling off and there is a nice breeze at night and ceiling fans in all the bedrooms so it ended up not being an issue. Not sure how it would have been if it did remain hot.
The sun comes up early and bright, shining right into the bedroom window in the morning. Woke us up at 5am a few days
Definitely could use some black out curtains for the bedroom if you plan to sleep in. The bonus of being up early each day was having your coffee on the back deck watching the sun rise, glistening of the sun off the water and the fishermen come and go.
The house was about 30 minutes to most parks and Bar Harbor. Would definitely recommend this house if you are looking for a quieter less busy section

Adorable
This house was the perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend. Having never been to Maine before yet alone MDI we found the distance into Bar Harbor/Acadia a bit further than we would’ve liked. It was about a 30-35 min trip one way. As we are people who like to be adventurous it made it a bit of a challenge but overall doable. The neighboring restaurant Thurstons was amazing. You could walk there from the house. The deck views are so gorgeous. Every morning the sunrises were spectacular. The house is immaculate and it offers lots of space. Any family would truly enjoy this home. Thanks for opening your home to us. It was the perfect Memorial weekend.

Everything we hoped it would be
Our two week stay couldn't have been nicer. From the access to fresh lobsters at the pier, to the nearby restaurants, lovely walks, and a beautiful arts and craft fair in nearby Bar Harbor - we had just the right amount of down time and things to do. Acadia is close by and the hikes were spectacular. We had fun kayaking and watching the lobster boats in Bass Harbor. The house itself was well equipped, clean, comfortable and spacious enough for six adults. The property managers were excellent and friendly. We hope to be back!

Great location and view. The house is well laid out and fully equipped. The kitchen has 2 or 3 of everything. Very comfortable to live in. Some improvements Light blocking drapes in the bedrooms and sturdy deck chairs that a 70 year old can sit in. There was a labor shortage while we there. The floors could have cleaner with a 11month old crawling all over the place. Would go back without question.

Post Covid Celebration
Stacy was absolutely wonderful. Our initial trip was canceled due to Covid and she generously let us return this summer. The house was spotless and well appointed. We kayaked every morning and afternoon, we frequently ate lobster fresh out of the water and enjoyed the views from the deck off the back of the house. We would encourage anyone to rent this house. It was a quick trip to Bar Harbor, the carriage rides and all of the hikes Acadia has to offer. Truly one of our favorite places.

We took our two teenage granddaughters on our trip to Maine. This house was in a quiet location, had a beautiful view, a walk away from the best lobster meal in the area. Everything was in a 20-30 minute drive. We were away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor.
The house was very nice, bedrooms were very comfortable and kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals. We met some nice people in the area and learned a lot lobster. We felt comfortable letting the girls explore this area alone .
I would highly recommend this house if you want to be able to get away from the crowds and just enjoy the view of the harbor.
