Freeport is family owned which is a plus for me. It is located very close to an event I participate in annually
This is my second stay there
The only thing I would suggest is adding a comfortable sitting chair to the room somehow.

Loved the location, the room was clean, bed was comfy, bath was big, hosts were friendly and accommodating. Not your typical "hotel" sign in. You just check your email for entry, after registering online, find your room number, done! Excellent!!!
Marnie and Jon suggested the Freeport Bar and Grill next door. What a treat. Cool "local" bar vibe, cute restaurant with new covered outdoor dining, amazing food and great choices of wine and beer. I highly recommend the fish and chips. Delish!
No real TV programs to watch, so I just signed I to Peacock and watched one of my series.

Not much.
The place is like an old boardinghouse. Half the stuff is broken or cheap. The window A/C unit is sealed up with duct tape because the central A/C is broken. You Know it’s broken because there’s a note taped to the wall written on receipt paper next to the thermostat. Big feature was the jet tub until you’re in the tub and discover the jets are broken. Cobwebs, but no spiders in the restroom were a nice touch also. The sheets didn’t fit the bed either. The view of the old trailer, broken down vehicles and junk in the yard outside my window added to the ambiance. Of I had a legit alternative I would’ve bailed, but it was non refundable. Now I know why. Total disaster and for the price I could’ve stayed at a much better place.

This was such a hidden gem! Staff was very accommodating. After a very long drive, this was so relaxing in their room spa.

Overall the stay fine but I found Marnie's disposition very unexpected for an inn owner. Shocking, really. She isn't a warm person at all. Like why own an inn if you don't believe in hospitality. I accidentally lost my key which yeah its kind of careless but these things happen. When I called her to let her know she said "management has already been there twice today". Um, what does that have to do with me. I didn't realize when booking that literally no one would be onsite. That's crazy! It was very stressful because I had to get ready for a wedding. I appreciate that someone was able to come and help me pretty shortly but I could have done without the rude comment. The person who came and helped me was really nice. Also I found it strange that I was told that I would be let into my room but not receive another key. Like hello so what am I supposed to do with all my stuff? I guess I was expected to put it all in my car everyday? I was staying for 2 more days at the time! Also I experiencing a shoulder problem which would make that difficult got me. Luckily the extremely kind man who helped me made me a key (it took like 5 seconds) Fortunately, he was completely different than Marnie and actually seemed like he wanted to help people and make their stay nice instead of miserable. The place itself was ok. It looked outdated but was clean and comfy enough.

The front of the property was attractive, but our room had a view of items that should have been in a garage or hidden from view in a shed. The actual room was fine.
The property was not as advertised online or in a brochure. The bistro is not open, and even though it’s called The Freeport Wine Country Inn, there was no offer or even purchase possibility at check in to have a glass of wine like we’ve had at other inns. When the owners/management staff opened the door for us during check in hours, they seemed surprised that we were there. They asked if we were guests. Maybe it was an off day for them. It just didn’t feel welcoming.

Everything was great! Just wished there was a desk for my boyfriend to be able to do homework and that the bed frame was a little more up to date

There weren't any refreshments available. They could have provided a continental breakfast - bottled water, coffee, wrapped muffins. There was nothing!

The bed was brand new and very comfortable. The location was very convenient for us and quiet as well. They were very understanding when we had a change in our schedule due to a medical emergency.
Bathtub/shower arrangement is unusual (in the bedroom), and the tub can be a little tricky to step into. WiFi was a bit weak.

Nice, clean and very quiet with a big room. I’ve lived in Sac for years and never knew of this place. Staff was wonderful, I had a problem with Booking.com and she helped me get if fixed. Thank you
Needs a little paint work and this would be a 4+ star place
