About this house rental
Enjoy the comfort of a well-maintained home with all the amenities that make your vacation easy, plus the charm of an original cabin/bunkhouse right next to beautiful Lake Vermilion, all with 2 docks! Perfect for enjoying the lake in summer, fall, or winter. Newer, modern home with a large, fully-stocked kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a loft. Master bedroom is on the main level, with a private 3/4 bathroom and king sized bed. The main level also has a laundry and a half bath. The upper level has 2 large bedrooms, full bathroom, & a loft. One upper level bedroom has a queen bed with twin bunk beds and the other has a full bed. The loft has a couch with a full-size pull-out bed. There are enough beds in the main house for 9-10 people. There are 2 additional beds (one bunk bed with a queen lower bed & one trundle with 2 singles) in the bunkhouse which can be used all year. There is heat and electric in the bunkhouse. This gives you multiple spaces to enjoy with your group. There are also 2 decks, one with the main house and one by the lake and bunkhouse. Each deck has a table, chairs, and there is grill on the upper deck. The main house deck also has a pergola for needed shade in the summer.
There is a fire pit right by the water for you to enjoy. There is a zero entry part of the lake shore, which is great if you enjoy swimming. The water is historically about 6 feet deep at the end of the docks.
The main house has stunning views of Lake Vermilion and sits on a ridge. There are solid, wide steps to the bunkhouse and lake. It's an easy walk up & down for those in moderate shape. However, it may not be the best property for young children, anyone with mobility/health issues or anyone who has trouble walking, as there is elevation from the lake to the house. The house is set in the woods and has a small rock bluff on one side, which is beautiful. The property lot is somewhat narrow (85 ft wide), so it is possible that you may hear neighbors or see them when your are at the lakeshore. There are 2 very good condition docks for you to use. We have a large parking area, plus an additional parking spot by the driveway entrance from the street, if needed. We do share the large parking area by the house with one neighbor. The lot lines are marked, so that you can see where to park on our side. There is plenty of space to park vehicles and trailers.
Our property has a great location for everything Vermilion. Only 3 miles down the road (or go by boat) to the VC or Vermilion Club. Great pizza and lively atmosphere. Or go to Pier 77, once again, down the street, for mini golf, pizza, & ice cream! You can boat to other restaurants (VC on Daisy Bay and Tavern on the Bay on the other side of Birch Point), marinas, stores, and Fortune Bay casino, too. Gruben's Marina is less than a mile from the property. Gruben’s is a good spot to get on the lake when snowmobiling or for boat access with a small fee. They also have a small store, bottle shop & rent boats. Gruben's also has food trucks and other special events throughout the summer. Birch Point Marina across Daisy Bay also provides boat rentals. There are public access boat launches within a short driving distance, at Moccasin Point. There are also many great hikes within a short drive. Great location for a base camp to enjoy the area, from Orr to Ely. Or simply fish, boat, snowmobile, or relax on amazing Lake Vermilion.

We loved everything about this gorgeous and up to date cabin. Great location, plenty of parking space and a cute little cabin next to the lake.
Stairway to the lake was 67 steps, which was a challenge.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with over text message. The property was clean, as described, and had lots of "extras" like a grill, paddleboards, canoe, etc. We had a great time fishing, both off the dock and out in Lake Vermilion. The property was very kid friendly, although we did have some heightened anxiety around the owner's new black walnut dining room table, which needs to be treated with care. Overall, a wonderful week on a wonderful lake in a wonderful home.

This property worked well for us fishing for muskies and bass. WE fished from Big Bay to Head of the Lakes Bay. The weather cooperated until the last night. Night fishing worked well with the spot lights hightlighting the property and docks, The steps up and down helped keep our legs limber. Very enjoyable place to stay on a wonderful lake.

Our group of 8 stayed for a week in mid September and had a wonderful stay. House was beautiful inside and out, you are right on the water and have ample room to dock boats. We have stayed at several places of Lake Vermilion and this was our favorite. Would highly recommend to anyone. Communication was awesome and check in easy. 10/10

Relaxing Week
Six adults (ages 45-80) stayed at this property for a week in June. Although the weather and fishing could have been better, we enjoyed the relaxing sound of the birds and the view of the lake. Many hours were spent in the boat and Lake Vermillion is a beautiful and diverse body of water. There are more stairs than mentioned in the description and it got to be a little challenging for my parents, but they managed by taking it slow. The house has everything you could ask for and the beds were very comfortable. Definitely would stay here again and recommend it to others.

A warm cabin in a cold winter!
More a “house” than a cabin, this was a great winter retreat. Well equipped kitchen for entertaining, and heated floors meant we didn’t even know it was 33 below outside. Can’t wait to come back on our next trip to Tower!

Great time on Vermillion
This is a fantastic property that is well maintained and well stocked. It is a very much a luxury cabin with all the amenities you could ask for. The owners are very responsive and helpful. We used their kayaks and their docks for tying our boat up each night. Great cabin and great people to work with!

A great week on a beautiful lake
Can’t think of any way in which our stay could have been improved! This was an ideal space for us—beautiful view, spacious well-appointed “cabin” (more like a home!), varied outdoor spaces to enjoy the fresh air. Lots of deck space if you didn’t want to walk down to the lake. We’d come back in a minute!

Great house on the lake that was perfect for our large family.
Such a nice house on the lake! This was our first time on the east side and we had a blast. We had 8 adults and 4 kids, which provided the perfect amount of room for us! There are quite a few steps down to the docks, but they were manageable for us.

Beautiful cabin getaway
We LOVED this property! It was beautiful and we lacked nothing in this cabin/home. Extremely clean, very well stocked and place was just as described. Actually it was better than we imagined. The views are gorgeous and abundant amount of space. Stacy and Shannon are great hosts and responded very promptly. We will DEFINITELY stay here again.

Amazing Views!
This was a beautiful property and home. Perfect for our stay for fishing opener. Everything we needed and more. I could sit on the wrap around deck and watch the lake forever.

Great place with very helpful and reasonable hosts. Beautiful setting and very nice home.
We had fun fishing from the dock and taking out a pontoon we rented from Gruben’s Marina just a 20
Minute walk away. The home was comfortable and great for our family meals. We would love to stay there again.

Great place and location
I’ve been to Lake Vermilion since 2012. Too nice to be a cabin. Good water pressure, reliable hot water, great deck, and everything worked as it was intended. The deck flood lights were nice to locate the dock at night. Located on Daisy Bay is great central location for the East end of this giant lake. We go to fish, and several of my spots were within 5 miles of the house. There is a great spot straight south from the cabin towards Daisy Island near the 4 bouys. Just 100 yards NE of those bouys in 15’ of water are scattered boulders on a gravel/clay bottom. Lindy rig leech combo was dynamite for spurts on the last day. Wish we would’ve tried it earlier in the week. Point is the place was great, and we will be back if it is available in the future.

Snowmobile trip
Myself and 4 of my friends stayed at the house for 3 nights in Mid February. House was perfect!! Stacy and Shannon gave me advice on how to best utilize the house and snowmobile trails and it was spot on! The only thing that was a challenge was getting my 4 door dually and 28 foot enclosed trailer turned around in the yard. I managed but it was very tight. A suburban or even a standard 4 door truck with a 4 place trailer would get turned around just fine. Otherwise, a great place to stay!!!!
