The fridge is stocked with all the food you need for a large country breakfast, especially the freshly ground Supreme coffee. There is always home baking and fresh garden flowers supplied. There is a separate lavatory and the shower room has a wall heater and heated towel rail. A new feature is the installaion of FREEVIEW television.

The perfect winter weekend getaway from Wellington. Fish’n’chips Friday night at lake Ferry hotel; open fire, rain on the tin roof plus treats - home baking and fresh flowers. Well stocked pantry; breakfast provisions included farm eggs and bacon. Highly recommended for a place to get away and relax.

This is our second visit and we love it. The fireplace is so cozy, and our lovely hosts keep the firewood stacked. The home baking and bacon and eggs in the fridge are a treat. Long walks on the Coast and great coffee at The Landgirl cafe - couldn't have been a better visit.

We visited for 3 days, exploring the area (Pinnacles and Lighthouse) which was wonderful. This was matched by a beautiful cottage with plenty or room for two, a well stocked fridge and a lovely garden. The host is a kind and caring couple, making you feel welcome. Don't miss to have a walk around and don't miss the sunset.

My partner and I had the most amazing, and relaxing time staying in the most beautiful, romantic and cosiest little cottage we have ever experienced. The open log fire is superb, and supplied with an abundance of perfectly seasoned firewood. The fire was even on upon arrival and the cottage was warm and cosy. The gardens are also beautiful and the location of the property is close to Martinborough and Cape Palliser. This made it a great base to explore from. Jacqueline and Alastair were perfect hosts and are incredibly lovely people. If you want a romantic weekend away with your partner this is definitely the place you want to be. We will be back and I couldn’t recommend it more. A very special place.

Loved staying here. It was peaceful and relaxing. The open fire was wonderful to have. Everything was provided to cook a big breakfast in the morning. Comfortable bed and all that you needed. Beautiful surroundings and close to the beaches, pub and walks. Welcoming hosts who go the extra mile. It was a perfect escape for us and totally recommend it.

This is a comfortable little cottage set in extensive and mature gardens, separate from the owners house, and very private. It's quiet and peaceful, except for the birdsong.
When we arrived it was a cold and windy day, but we soon had a roaring log fire going, and it was very cosy. Everything we needed was provided, including tea, coffee and cake, and the makings of breakfast.
The cottage is well situated for exploring along the coast towards Cape Palliser, and Lake Ferry is close by, with the Lake Ferry Hotel if you want to eat out.
An ideal hideaway for a couple, and we would definitely go back.
