VRBO.com is the only website that has permission to accept bookings for this property. Vrbo Property ID # 228628 (Casa Macumba), vrbo property ID # 457489 (Casa Milagro) and vrbo property ID # 2064606 (Casa Canaan) are the only three listings on vrbo.com that are authorized to promote or take bookings for any of these three properties.
Casa Macumba is a 7 bedroom/8 bathroom hacienda-style villa. Within the same gated compound are two more villas, another 7 bedroom/8 bathroom villa, Casa Milagro and an 8 bedroom/9 bathroom villa, Casa Canaan. If guests need more than 7 bedrooms they can rent one or both of the other villas. Each villa must be rented separately and guests from one villa cannot enter the areas of another villa unless they are rented by the same group. This beautiful property is located only 3.5 miles south of Old Town on the safest white sand swimming beach in Puerto Vallarta. There are no drop offs or boulders in front of the villa. This classic hacienda is laid out on one level so its wheel chair accessible and it has a big lawn, patio and pool only nine steps away from a white sandy beach. It has breathtakingly spectacular 180 degree views of Banderas Bay, Los Arcos, Punta Mita, Nuevo Vallarta and the Majestic Sierra Madre Mountains. At certain times of the year dolfphins and humpback whales migrating to Banderas bay, provide great shows right in front of the villa. There is a beautiful blue oval swimming pool that's heated so your kids can swim in the morning or at night without shivering. This unique U-shaped villa encompasses a beautiful outdoor area so it's ideal for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats and all kinds of special events. The patio is big enough so your group will always have lots of space. This property is a hidden treasure situated on 97 meters (the three villa compound) of prime beachfront property. On the mountain side behind the villa, there is 107,000 square feet of protected tropical rain forest which is part of the Macumba estate. There are no roads or buildings in front of this villa to hinder the outstanding ocean views.
Punta Negra beach is a great for walking and running (its the longest beach on the south shore), swimming, kayaking and body surfing. There is a gentle slope going down to and into the ocean which makes getting in and out very easy. You can walk out quite a ways out and still have the water at waist level. The villa comes with kayaks, boogie boards, a ping pong table and a volley ball net so you don't have to go far to have fun. Tour boats can pick you up right on the beach in front of the villa so you don't even have to pay for taxis to go on boat excursions. Behind the villa is a beautiful valley with waterfalls and river pools. There is also a zip line canopy tour there for a little excitement. If you just want to relax there is a nice jungle restaurant and you can take the tequila tour and learn how they make tequila. For those who like snorkeling, Los Arcos, an under water ecological reserve is very close. One of our guests favorite tours is to have a panga pick them up on the beach in front of the villa and go snorkeling at Los Arcos and exploring beyond down the coast stopping at beachside villages.
The villa staff will pamper you. Upon arrival you will be served guacamole, salsa and chips and quesadillas as well as ice cold margaritas and beer and cold water, pop or juice for your children. Unless you request something else the chef will prepare a traditional Mexican dinner for your first meal. You won't have to shop for groceries or wash dishes either. In addition to the chef and the bartender/waiter there is daily maid service and a gardener/pool cleaner/house boy who keeps the pool and all outdoor areas imaculate. The staff is available to help you arrange, tours, in house massages, fishing trips, restaurant reservations, transportation and much more. Fiber optic telephone and Internet (high speed) has now been installed in all of our villas!

We had a wonderful time staying at the house! The pool and the beach were wonderful for the kids and adults alike, the rooms were a welcome retreat, and the food was incredible! We also loved the staff - very friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay again in the future.
A few helpful suggestions we wish we knew in advance - the laundry was a service, there is no washer/dryer on-site. We were also ill prepared for how much cash we would need for house meals, groceries, and the tip at the end. Giving an option for electronic payment would be very helpful!
Overall though, the house and the experience were a great fit for our family!

Our family had a wonderful vacation here with ages ranging from 6months to 81 and everyone loved it !!
The staff and owner were friendly and attentive . Have Carmen make the corn cake !!! Everything she prepared was amazing and yummy !! The layout of the property was terrific - felt like everyone had their own little casita and the pool was perfectly located and the views are spectacular because you are right on the ocean !!

A fabulous week was provided by Blair and his amazing team. The grounds, pool, and spacious rooms were kept in immaculate condition and were exactly as advertised. Carmen created amazing meals beyond expectations and Danny was everywhere providing delicious drinks and whatever else you could ask for. I highly recommend Casa Macumba.

Our stay at Casa Macumba was very special - we were there to celebrate our daughter's (and new son-in-law's) wedding, an intimate, immediate-family-only gathering (11 adults, 3 small children). The setting and the layout of the property were perfect. As other reviewers have said, the staff were attentive to every detail to create an experience we'll remember forever, and Blair (property host) also was very helpful with some spontaneous arrangements during the week. We are already dreaming of a return trip someday...

I can’t say enough about our amazing stay at Casa Macumba! We celebrated a milestone birthday with friends and family….Everything was perfect and are so grateful to the staff and owner for tending to every detail. We found that asking for the chef’s choice for meals was a good solution and that all meals were delicious. We look forward to returning in the future.

This was our first stay at Casa Macumba and we loved every bit of it. There were 11 of us, my siblings/spouses, our dad, and my daughter, ages 48-92.
Beautiful beachfront property, very clean and comfortable.
The staff was amazing in every way. The food and service was exquisite.
We enjoyed the swimming pool, playing in the ocean, walking on the beach, and just relaxing.
We stayed next door at Casa Milagro in 2016 and in 2022 which is just as lovely!

Well appointed vacation home with incredible views of the beach and sunsets.
The staff were friendly and courteous and the food was top notch.
We relaxed, enjoyed watching the children play and loved listening to the sound of the waves.
Thank you Blair for being a great host.

The Villa was amazing. Blair our host met us along with the facilities manager Fermin to help with luggage, while Danny greeted us with Margaritas The villa has 7 spacious rooms facing the ocean with a living room, dining room and kitchen. Lita along with Lulu kept us clean and tidy, Danny ensured timely meals and beverage service, and Carmen was in the kitchen organizing and cooking amazing meals. While the menu options are vast, we recommend chef’s choice. Carmen did not disappoint. We also appreciated the care in accommodating some of our family with specific dietary needs- gluten and nut allergies. It was a beautiful space that brought us together to play in the sun and ocean, and allow us all to relax during our time in Puerto Vallarta.

We spent an absolutely amazing week at Casa Macumba to celebrate my husband's birthday. There were around 20 of us total, ranging from 3 mos old to 45 years old. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. From the clear communication from Blair the property owner, to the absolutely fabulous staff at the property, we had the trip of a lifetime. Danny (house manager) was so attentive and thoughtful, especially with our little ones. Carmen (the chef) made the most delicious meals every single day (much better than anything we ate in town), Leti (housekeeper) kept the house in order for us daily (not an easy task with 8 kids running around), and Fermin (groundskeeper) kept the property looking immaculate day in and day out. Do not hesitate to book this property, you will have an amazing experience. Every person on our trip had an amazing time and we can't wait to return to Casa Macumba!

Casa Macumba was a perfect fit for our family. It is authentic Mexican ambience with all the modern creature comforts. Lovely tiled bathrooms and floors, and bedrooms with individual air conditioning. The owner, Blair, organized our transportation in clean, comfortable vans with nice "safe" drivers. We did not give Blair as much advanced notice as we would have liked for a couple of excursions. He however worked his magic, and was able to arrange everything that we wanted for us. We had the chef, Carmen, plan most of the meals as suggested, and they were delightful. We would request a dish or two to be included in the next day's meals, and it worked out perfectly. Carmen's creations are not to be missed. Danny is amazing! All you had to do was think "a margarita or pina colada would be nice" and he would appear. He skillfully served dinner to the twelve of us with remarkable ease. Both Danny and Carmen cooked us some great meals on the large outdoor BBQ. Danny was the go-to person for anything needed, and could arrange a cab drive into town etc. on short notice. Beautiful Leticia kept the rooms immaculate. She would be in and out of each room seamlessly so as not to disturb anyone. Fermin showed up smiling every morning keeping the grounds and pool spotless. Lourdes was behind the scenes laundering linens & towels. The heated pool was a popular spot. Thank you Blair, Danny, Carmen, Fermin, Leticia & Lourdes. We had a truly 5 star experience!

Wonderful time at this magnificent property…16 of us from 19-87 in age…staff is outstanding and I would recommend Casa Macumba without reservation….quiet peaceful on the water with a beautiful pool…you will love it…would go back in a heartbeat

We stayed here with some friends, trip was perfect!! All the rooms are comfortable and have a view. Turtles came up on the beach in front of the house at night. We had amazing storms in the evening. Plenty to keep you entertained right there, but if you need an adventure they will help you arrange everything to include transportation.
Now onto the staff. Highly recommend not picking your menu, just let Carmen work her magic!! I am pretty sure we all gained 10-25 lbs while we were there. Danny makes some fantastic drinks, and is the backbone of the operation. Fermin keeps the grounds beautiful and will help with just about anything. Leticia kept the place clean. Blair was there at check in and check out to help with any questions. He’s always a phone call away. He has some beautiful rentals all in one location, you could easily host a large function there. Can’t wait to come back!!

After researching vacation homes on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, I came across Casa Macumba and read the numerous glowing reviews, which made me inclined to give it a try for our family's week long vacation. The entire experience, from the beautiful setting...to the outstanding staff...to the home with spacious grounds and comfortable, well air conditioned bedrooms, it exceeded all of our expectations. We only ate one dinner in town and the rest were prepared by Carmen, who is a magician in the kitchen. All of Blair's recommended activity companies were very accommodating and professional. All activities came to us....wave runners, snorkel boat and fishing boat.
They came right up to the beach to pick us up!
We hope to return to this wonderful home/experience in the future. Thanks Blair!!!

Just returned from our one week stay at Casa Macumba. Our family of 18, including toddlers, pre-adolescents, teens, young adults and old adults had a blast! The house was perfect for our group - no stairs; each spacious and air conditioned bedroom has its own private bath; large indoor gathering place, giant dining room table, multiple a outdoor seating areas, great pool, large grassy play area; ping-pong table, bocce ball, corn hole, kayaks, boogie boards, pool toys and best of all, it's directly on the beach! OK, it's a tie what was best of all...directly on the beach, or the royal treatment of Carmen, our chef, and Dani, our "everything" guy (from margaritas by the pool or at the beach, to pina coladas for the little ones). He quickly learned our names and our favorite drinks. We opted to let Carmen surprise us each day and she did not disappoint! She even prepared a separate meal each day for our granddaughter with celiac disease. Fermin kept the grounds pristine and beautiful. He set up chairs and umbrellas to the beach every day, and even got us some mangos from the tall mango tree in the yard. Leticia greeted us each day with the most beautiful smile and kept our rooms super clean. Blair answered all our questions prior to arrival and arranged for transportation and activities for us. (Highly recommend the surf trip with David of Surf'nSayulita!) Although it was almost unbearably hot, our whole group had a grand time and would return in a heartbeat!

With 7 en-suite bedrooms, spacious open air living and dining rooms and ample outdoor seating, Casa Macumba accommodated our group of 8 adults and 4 children effectively. The host and all staff members were gracious, helpful and professional. Given that food and drinks were delicious, the home steps from the beach, and beach and pool toys and supplies abundant, we did not venture away from this beautiful property.

We were a group of 10 adults and four children ages 3, 4, 5 & 5.We've vacationed together in Hawaii and at a resort in Nuevo Vallarta previously and we all agree this was our favorite trip. The location and the house were amazing but it was really the staff that made it perfect. They were so accommodating and kind and the food was amazing. By the end of the trip, they felt like family. We highly recommend this place and hope to return in the future!

This villa was immaculate, great communication between us and the staff. Everything we asked for they delivered. The beach is gorgeous, so many things to do kayaking, boogie boards, ping pong, The pool was so warm, and the ocean/beach was so clean. Our bedrooms were so large, spacious and beautifully decorated, white sheets, white towels. The food... good grief it was delicious, we had to ask Carman to cut back on the portions, we went to town for dinner one night, although it was great but Carmans food was better. Daniel was a great bartender and server, he is so polite and kind, great communicator. Leticia was always smiling, always greeted us, our rooms were perfectly made up, and her surprise towel creations were fun to look forward to. Fermin was always cleaning the outdoors took care of our beach day without us asking, Greeted us every morning. Lulu we didn't get to meet but our linen and towels smelled so fresh every day. Blair greeted us on arrival and checked in half way and then sent us off. He arranged transportation from the airport. Made our rental easier by talking to me on the phone about many questions I had. I have rented several VRBO's this place is 5 star, all the furniture is in great shape, linens and towels in great shape, the staff make it a pleasant experience, and you can't beat the location right on the water. If you are thinking about it. .... just do it!

The property offers a lot. The grounds are kept up perfect. A leaf dare not drop and it is swept up by the hard working gardener. The chef is delightful and made us lunch and dinner every day. You chose what you want on the menu the day before. There were a few miscommunications but all in all it went nicely. There is a helper to serve and bar tend, he was sweet and took great care of our margarita needs. He even led our group on a great hike to a waterfall. One of the highlights of the trip for the grandsons. They jumped off rocks into the river. The housekeeper kept the rooms clean and tidy everyday. My group said it exceeded their expectations and loved being right on the beach and having our own grounds. The boys loved learning to boogie board in the waves and warm sea water. There are boogie boards, pool toys, a ping pong table and kayaks too. Plus they supply life jackets. I loved listening to the waves crashing every night putting me to sleep. I had the window open all night and never needed the AC. I did get bites on my legs as I did not even use a sheet. I think there is a tiny bug called No See UM's. I got bit by those last year in Puerto Vallarta too. They itch like the devil.
There are a few details that could be tended to. Like hooks on the back of bathroom doors, plastic covers taken off the lamps, a hand rail on the stairs going to the beach. But, those are very minor. You will not regret staying at Casa Mucumba. It is a beautiful.

The home and its staff are perfect. The pool, yard, beach access and a dream and the entire experience could not have been better!

The property was exceptional, as advertised and as reviewed by so many previous guests. The little children played in the pool, the big kids played in the ocean and the beach and everyone enjoyed lounging and visiting in the sun and shade on the property. The large outdoor eating table was great. The staff were so pleasant and accommodating. We were treated like royalty. But it was the food that was the biggest hit. Five stars for Chef Carmen.
One suggestion for future bookings: book the minimum number of guests to secure the facility and then add additional guests as they confirm. We were surcharged for guests who were not able to attend and then had considerable difficulty amending the booking.
We would strongly recommend this property.

What can I say in a few words to describe this lovely place that really could fill a book, but I will try.
We were a family ranging from 13 to 84 years old. Every one of us felt it was the best vacation ever.
Carmen cooked the most fabulous meals. Letitia kept the house spotless. Daniel, well....he was there whenever we needed anything, including taking my grandchildren on a hike to a waterfall where they all went swimming.
Fermin kept the pool and gardens looking beautiful. 10 stars for everything!

We chose this home because of its size and proximity to the beach. We could not have chosen better. The house is beautiful and so well thought out. The photos do not do it justice. Having both the pool and the ocean just steps away made it the perfect place for all the children as well as the adults. We took a boat trip, at the suggestion of Blair, with Chauvo, and we highly recommend his services. The snorkeling, swimming in the ocean, diving off rocks, and stopping in little villages not accessible by roads were a real adventure. The staff at Casa Macumba was delightful and so helpful.
We can't say enough about Carmen's cooking and her flexibility adjusting to the needs of our group. We stuck to the Mexican dishes mostly: fajitas, fish tacos, enchiladas. One night we even had hamburgers! Daniel could not have been more accommodating, and his margaritas are not to be missed! Fermin kept the grounds immaculate and put all out chairs and umbrellas on the beach each day. Leticia made sure our rooms were straightened and fresh towels and linens were at the ready. And in the background Lulu did any laundry that needed to be done. We felt pampered and rested. All of us would go again to Casa Macumba. Treat yourself.

Paradise!
We came here with 4 families for our summer vacation. The location is absolutely perfect, the beach in unbeatable. The staff are truly incredible. Carmen is the best chef and Daniel catered to our every need. Fermin and Felis kept our rooms and the grounds spotless. We could not have asked for a better experience. Would recommend this place again and again. We will definitely be back!!!

There is so much to say about this property and staff, but to keep it short this was the best experience we have ever had. I think what makes this place most special was the staff who became our family. Clean beds every morning, fresh coffee, 5 star food, the best dang margarita you've ever had, and not to mention an ocean view that could be a movie set. We will be returning every year! I think we had one of the most wild groups you could host, and Blair was extremely gracious.

Relaxing Casa Macumba
The villa was amazing. The location on the beach is perfect. Close to bus stop. But the best part of this villa was the staff. All 4 of the staff were amazing. Carmen was an OUSTANDING chef!! Daniel was an AWESOME sous chef/waiter/bartender/tour guide/amigo & all around fun guy. Fermin kept the yard perfect & the cleaner/laundress/towel artist (I am sorry. I forgot your name) was wonderful. Thank you Blair for allowing us to spend a fantastic week at your villa. We hope to return again someday 😊

Family vacation
My husband and I took our family of eighteen to celebrate our 70th birthdays.
Blair’s place was everything we hoped for: beautiful spot right on the beach, seven bedrooms and baths to accommodate our large family, amazing food, staff that worked tirelessly to keep the place spotless and running smoothly. We loved how Daniel made sure we had everything we needed, Carmen’s cooking was 5 star perfection, Fermin kept the grounds immaculate, Leticia was a little worker bee and with ten grandkids her work was cut out for her but you would never know it as she always had a smile on her face and Lourdes made sure everyone’s laundry was taken care of. Honestly we could not say enough about the staff. They made our vacation one we will never forget.
I am very grateful for their hard work and making us feel so welcomed.
Thank you Blair!!!!

Oh man. Staying here felt like high-life living! From the daily turndown service (with fun surprises and personalized touches) to the drool-worthy food, we did not want to leave! You’d think being on a beach in Mexico is all you need to make you happy- then you have an experience like this. And resort traveling suddenly loses its luster. Want your very own bartender who comes to find YOU, asking what you’d like to drink? You bet you do! Want your very own pool and lounge chairs without staking claims and throwing elbows? Heck yes! Want the serenity of the ocean without the clamor of people and the carnival of vendors? (Do I really need to ask?) Want your own ping-pong table and bocci ball so you can show your partner who’s boss? This is your place. Quiet. Exquisite. Secure (with the exception of a few strays who just have to have a closer look because, c’mon- this place is GORGEOUS).
Other reviewers have commented about the “weird fence”, and my husband did say it felt a little like being in a jail. But if this is what jail looks like- SIGN. ME. UP! Even the host is so accommodating and helpful- albeit a little busy and distracted. Blaire- if you are looking for an assistant, I will gladly volunteer my service, especially if it means I can come back here again! And you’ll understand too- once you’ve been here. Don’t even think twice. Bring your friends, family, and any other inmates you enjoy being around. Because the last thing you want is to miss out on this experience. (A helpful tip- do bring/buy bug spray and make sure to rinse off well when coming in from the beach. Sand mites are a real thing).
Hasta luego, Casa Macumba.’ Until next time.

Casa Macumba was the perfect place to have our family vacation of 13. The ages of our family members were 21-78. The food and service were top notch... 5 star quality hands down. The friendly staff are very hardworking and keep the Casa Macumba in immaculate condition. The Casa Macumba is an All Inclusive for your private group/family. Thank you Carmen, Daniel, Leticia, Fermin and Lourdes for making us feel like family. We definitely left with full hearts (& bellies)
Until we meet again, Au revoir, Chenard/Dentinger Families
