Amazing location! Great place to stay if you are checking out all the amazing waterfalls in the area, welcoming and kind hosts, comfortable rooms, beautiful views, and lots of wildlife (including toucans!!)

Location was great, staff was very nice, breakfast was very good!
The room itself was missing a few critical things (a) effective fans (since there is no A/C; (b) hooks to hang towels etc; (c) screens for windows (as there is no A/C and we need to keep windows open, but there ore obviously bugs in Costa Rica
Just a few cheap investments would have made a huge difference.

Breakfast at the Epic Adventure lodge was our favorite while in Costa Rica. Fresh fruit, mango juice, scrambled eggs and gallo pinto. The lodge is on a mountain with some great breezes. We were upgraded to the 2 bedroom cabin nearest the pool that was very comfortable. The pool was really nice in sunny spot at the top. You can see so many stars at night here. We walked the grounds the nest day all the way down to the river. The staff was really friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. They directed us to a great restaurant nearby, Los Galitas, that was very friendly and welcoming.

I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's beautiful, clean, and simple. We will be back with a group in the future!
Checkin was a little bumpy, but im reaching for something at this point.

The staff was awesome and the breakfast was perfect.
Beds were a little hard but all in all it's a great place.

Staff very friendly. Location good for La Paz waterfall gardens and in a beautiful setting.
Accommodation basic but clean.

Stunning location with amazing views, brilliant facilities (the shower was amazing) a very comfortable bed and overall wonderful place to stay. The staff were all really friendly - we told them it was our honeymoon and they decorated the room for us and provided us with some Costa Rican peach wine. Breakfast was also great. Absolutely amazing experience and made our honeymoon even more special. Thank you so much.

such a unique spot and loved the feeling of being in nature. very pretty scenery and views all around.
the sign for the property was a little confusing and had drove past the entrance the first time. the sign was large but it had “RAFTING” in big letters across the top, then the name of the lodge.

Superfriendly people, great rooms in a wonderful natural setting, superb breakfast, ... Such a joy to stay here. Wish we could stay longer. Thanks again for everything!

We had a nice stay and enjoyed the trail to the river, the pool and the amazing view. Staff was really helpful and friendly.
The many steps up and down

Location with a superb view, comfortable bed, clean linen, clean bedroom/bathroom,private balcony with a bench, access to kitchen/fridge, good wifi, small but clean pool, well maintained garden with lots of plants, trees and birds, safe and big car park. Friendly and helpful owner and staff(especially Rolando). Easy access to different tourist attractions. Great trail to the river (about 20 min).
1. Breakfast way too basic...the staff could pay a bit more attention to details (especially when serving breakfast).
2. We could hear everything from our neighbours(although they were not noisy) as there are 2 separate double bedrooms/bathrooms in the same cabin/cottage. Likely, this was only for 1 night.
3. There is no wardrobe/shelfs. Some hangers/racks will be really useful.

Staff was great, very accommodating and helpful. We decided to go rafting last minute and they were able to work us in. Everybody was super nice. The view from the cabins is great, very relaxing. There is a trail that takes you down to the river and it is beautiful. Food was great and they also helped us with laundry. Excellent service.
The couches in our cabin were a bit old and hard.

The space outside the room, the beautiful garden filled with flowers and animals.
The room amenmenties were old and not in a good shape.

It was a very pleasant place, we slept well, we could have spent more time here, the mountain climate is cool and pleasant at nighttime and in the morning, and you are surrounded by amazingly beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature, birds and the river. This property has rafting activities you can arrange directly with them, I saw they have a building where they keep all of the rafting equipment.
The location is about 1 1/2 hours’ drive from San Jose airport. We had contacted the property through Booking.com in advance to let them know that we would probably not arrive before 10:00 pm and they told us that would be alright and they would wait for us to arrive. We arrived there around 11 pm and were greeted by a pleasant lady who showed us where to park and took us to our rooms. The property is on the main road, it is not difficult to locate, and there is a sign on the road. The road is a winding mountain road, the road is in good condition, there are many twists and turns, you cannot drive too fast. It was dark and there isn't much shoulder. We used a GPS with a downloaded map of Costa Rica. I would recommend using GPS and also download the Google map directions on your cell phone. The next morning, we woke up to amazing views of the mountains all around us and a river valley below us, beautiful landscape and trees and the sound of birds and the river below. A different friendly lady prepared our delicious breakfast of eggs, toast, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The cabin we stayed in has lots of glass windows and a covered porch. Our kids stayed in a separate room that is attached to the common eating area, it has bunk beds. The bed in our cabin was comfortable and we slept well. There is seating on the porch to enjoy the views. There is a well maintained pool with clean water and a swim up bar, it is near the building where we ate our breakfast. There is a well maintained trail to the river, we had time to take a pleasant morning walk and enjoy nature.
We were asked to pay cash when we were leaving. This was an inconvenience as it took time for us to go to the ATM at the bank in town to withdraw the cash. It would be better if payment was through booking.com or online payment.

Pretty much everything else aside from the Antastic couch. And even then, I still found the ant volcano in my couch amusing enough that that didn't even bother me that much. Bugs don't bother me much to begin with, and I was only staying there for 2 nights anyway. But an ant infestation may be a deterrent for others, so I thought it fit nicely into a review.
The grounds are astoundingly beautiful!!!
Breakfast is LEGIT!! Lady makes it for you right there, and she don't mess around! Eggs, fruits, toast, several varieties of jam, coffee, tea, and banana pancakes so thick that you can't tell if you're choking from an onslaught of euphoria or from the 4 pounds of banana-based pancake batter she beat into your single chonky thicc-boi flapjack, but either way, you're crying and smiling and chewing and swallowing cuz that's what you do to show your love for the Epic Adventure Pancake Breakfast Lady.
The view from the dining area is INCREDIBLE! For real, so many incredible plants and animals and mountains to gawk at! I liked the agoutis the best, cuz they looked like miniature ROUSs. It was nice to walk out of the cabin door and be right in the middle of breakfast! (Our cabin was the one attached to the dining area, and the Antastic couch in question is the one against the windows, in case you wanted to rent it and send me written reports on how my colony is doing.)
Swim up bar is a nice touch! Bring your own booze, music, and bartender! We did! The bartender did a great job, considering that he'd never tended bar before! Okay, the bartender was our friend Spencer, and all he had to do was hand me canned beers that we brought that I was too lazy to grab off the bar. Pura Vida!
I lifted one of the throw pillows off of the middle of one of the loveseat couches in our apartment, and disturbed an entire colony of ants living between the seat cushions. Ants erupted from the crack like a miniature Arenal volcano, so I gently replaced the pillow and ignored the couch for the rest of my stay there. The ants can have that couch. I'm going to go sit outside on rocks for the rest of my life now.
Some sort of small vermin kept occasionally pooping on the floor, and once on the bed. Again, not a huge deal. Not much bigger than mouse poop. It's Costa Rica, in the middle of the jungle, so get used to it!

It’s very quiet and the view from the balkony is very relaxing, good typical breakfast, honest staff

We stayed in a house with 2 bedrooms and an outside kitchen. The house was very cozy and you are surrounded by beautiful, lush nature. What was my favourite part though is that the Lodge also offers many adventure activities, that have a little river strip for rafting and we also did a little rainforest hike to the river which was also still part of the property! And after we cooled ourselves in the pool. Loved it! The owner was also super friendly, we arrived 2 hours before check-in and she let us wait on the facilities where we could use the pool and the outside kitchen.
Some of the furniture was quite old and not so comfortable, especially the couch cushions.

A very nice room with a perfect view. A toucan even landed few meters from our balcony in the morning. The breakfast was good.
4.3
Well-built cabines, new appliances, great shower, fantastic views, nice pool, well-equipped outdoor kitchen, with birds singing and an agouti family visiting at times. Super clean as well. Great breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay. It's close to San Miguel where you can buy grocery. It's calm, and you live outdoors.
Just a suggestion: Add a sofa or a table with chairs in the cabine next to the outdoor kitchen.

We loved the peacefulness and the scenery was amazing !
