About this house rental
Elkins Cottage is a spacious and beautifully furnished 3 bedroom property. Originally a fisherman's cottage part of a traditional colourful terrace overlooking the bustling fishing harbour of Brixham. The cottage with it's views of the sea to the front has a terraced garden to the rear providing space to relax and dine al fresco. Elkins Cottage boasts a wonderful location in the heart of Brixham, with only a short walk down to the harbour with it's many restaurants and cafes, along with independent shops and local amenities. It is an ideal spot to start exploring the beautiful south Devon Coast with it's sandy beaches and dramatic coastline as well as other local attractions such as Paignton Zoo, Berry Head Nature Reserve and Greenway Estate home of Agatha Christie. Elkins Cottage is a stylishly decorated home, on entering the cottage into a small entrance hall you move into the warm and inviting sitting room with it's wood burning stove and comfortable seating, leading into the large kitchen dining room. To the back are French doors out to a yard with steps leading up to the terraced garden. On the first floor there is a cosy double bedroom with an original fireplace, a walk-in wardrobe and fabulous views of Brixham, whilst the bathroom and the twin room are found at the back of the cottage, the large twin room has a door leading to the garden with a decked walkway. On the top floor you will find a beautifully presented king size room with views not only of the harbour but across the bay to Torquay.

We absolutely loved staying here. The property was clean and welcoming and had obviously been thoughtfully prepared for guests. It was a short walk to the harbour where there is plenty to do. We made a mistake with our booking dates and the owner was very understanding which I was very grateful for.

Beautiful home, fantastic location

We absolutely loved Anna's property, it was beautifully furnished, with amazing views out onto the harbour. Location was perfect, our only regret is that we did not stay longer! Anna was an excellent host, providing clear and accurate information and instructions with some suggestions on what to do in the local area. Would highly recommend!

A small but perfectly formed cottage, great for a small family. Easy access to the centre, but need to be reasonably fit and able. The decor is immaculate and the views incredible. We did the coastal walk around Berry Head - 10km of views - with lunch on the way. Highly recommend a stay in this picturesque fishing port.

Beautifully presented property (very stylist decor!) conveniently located a few minutes walk from Brixham Harbour. Lovely sea view from the first and second floors of the accommodation. The house is on a steep hill and there is a steep staircase down to the harbour so unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Perfect to experience Brixham
Elkins Cottage is all you could wish for to enjoy a break in Brixham and experience a traditional fisherman’s house on the steep harbourside, with great views across the town, harbour and bay.
The house is very tastefully decorated and furnished, and well equipped, and the welcoming wine was much appreciated. We had family coming and going during our stay but even with six adults at capacity the accommodation was comfortable and hot water plentiful, although if heading out you may need an early start for bathroom rota.
Would highly recommend the property provided mobility around narrow roads by car and very steep steps into the town are not a concern, but proximity to the town is a massive plus. The quayside is just a few minutes walk away.
Thanks to Anna for a hugely enjoyable stay, and for all the communication and flexibility, particularly in the uncertain times of 2020 when staying at all was a major doubt.

A bijoux cottage overlooking Brixham harbour
We had a lovely week in Brixham staying at Elkins Cottage. The place was well looked after and thoughtfully decorated. With a lovely bottle of bubbles to welcome us. The bedrooms were good and spacious. A downstairs toilet in addition to the one bathroom would have been an improvement, although not sure where you would put it. Steep road outside with steep walking paths into the centre of town. Also dog friendly, which we appreciated.

There was a bit of a blip when we got to the cottage but Anna sorted it straight away. The cottage itself is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay there. It is on a hill so not for anyone with mobility issues but it does mean you have incredible views over the harbour. Loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Long weekend in Brixham
We came down for the Torbay Half Marathon and needed somewhere for 5 adults to stay. I found this property on the internet, and after a bit of research decided to stay. From the moment we walked in we could see that the owner took pride in the property. The house was clean and tidy, and immediately felt like home. In fact my wife and I felt that we could happily live in this house. The property is situated on a steep hill, so not for the faint hearted. However, the views more than make up for this. There was plenty of room for us. The only downside from our point of view was that there was only one bathroom. It's been a few years since I was last in Brixham and its clear that a lot of work has been done to improve the town. We had a great weekend and would defiantly stay at Elkins cottage again.

Beautiful house, central to town and fabulous views
We stayed here to enjoy the utterly eccentric and brilliant Pirate Festival! The house was beautifully decorated, hugely comfortable and had every comfort you’d ever need. From a huge number of glasses, crockery, kitchen utensils, fluffy towels, board games, soap, DVD’s and town is just a 2 minute walk away. Waking up to a view of the harbour in the sunshine was just lovely.

We had a great week at Elkins cottage!
We didn’t spend much time in Brixham itself but Elkins Cottage was the perfect base to explore the wonderful Devonshire coast.
The cottage was beautifully decorated and very homely- perfect for our small family.
Parking is not for the faint hearted due to the narrow, steep roads but we had no issue parking on Elkins Hill and easily found a space every day.
So peaceful with a wonderful view out over the harbour.
Anna as a host was excellent - very helpful and responsive :)
