We really enjoyed our stay. The house was great and the layout was perfect for our group. The kitchen had everything you could need. Lake Nantahala is an absolutely beautiful lake and a great place to enjoy the weekend. The dock was great and a nice amenity. I will say that the walk down the driveway (mountain) to get to the dock was not quick. We elected to drive to the dock which worked out well with our group. We would definitely consider staying here again.

It was a perfect Christmas getaway, Other than temporary blackouts, I would book this again! I do suggest if it is cold when you plan your drip bring a battery operated heater just in case. The house is amazing, the host communicates perfectly and the views are breathtaking.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lost Moose Lodge on Nantehela Lake this weekend!!! There were 9 of us in total (my husband and I along with our kids ages 16-23) and we really only wished that we had a couple of extra days! We had such a great time and would really love to come back again next year! The house was just beautiful, and extremely well stocked with everything that we needed! We cooked a lot, and there was nothing at all missing in the kitchen. There were lots of extras in the house that one might forget to bring. The house is so uniquely and beautifully designed and decorated and was more than enough room for our family to enjoy! We enjoyed the quick walk down the hill to the lake, our time spent swimming off the dock and relaxing in the sun and floating in our tubes, We brought a jet ski and some kayaks and then rented a speed boat from Lakes End Marina and had a great day spent on Lake Nantehela followed up by evenings grilling out and soaking in the hot tub on the upper deck overlooking the lake. We highly recommend visiting Lost Moose Lodge for your next vacation in the mountains!!

Beautiful cabin style home with amazing views of fall setting in. Property had everything you could ask for, multiple decks with seating, hot tub with a view, play room for kids, fire pit and more. Bring yourselves, fire wood, fishing pole, and food and you are set! Cabin is very private and away from main roads (would recommend AWD or 4WD vehicle as owners suggest). Overall great place, would visit again!

Our family had a wonderful vacation in this gorgeous log cabin. We went swimming and boating on the lake, hiking in the mountains, and spent time relaxing in the hot tub, taking in the most amazing views.

This was our first time down to The Smokey Mountains and we did not know what to expect. The drive down became a little worrisome as we got closer too the destination, but as soon as you get to the end of the road the lake opens up with beautiful cabins all along in a very private, secluded, and safe nook on Lake Nantahala. The cabin was beyond amazing. If you like very Nancy Meyers types of movies because of the decor, location, and overall vibe of the house, then Lost Moose Lodge is THE place to stay if you come to NC! Every detail was perfect, very clean, lots of activities, and even a scavenger hunt in the house was provided. Stock up on groceries and bring firewood and starter with you to enjoy this place uninterrupted for your getaway. We did a few local attractions, however we would have been happy to just stay all weekend at the cabin as it was exactly the place for a relaxing and family oriented type of trip. We will definitely be coming back.

We had a great stay at this rental. The house was fully stocked and the view was impeccable.

We rented this place for a family getaway over Christmas. We absolutely loved our stay! The house exceeded our expectations (and the listed pictures). Hidden gem with a fabulous view. The hot tub was a hit. The owners were responsive to messages if needed (but everything is spelled out in the pdf they send you). The owners went above and beyond in decorating for Christmas and setting the table with festive ware--and even left out cute slippers for the kids (big hit)! Thanks so much!
A couple things to be aware of-- there is a small stream you have to cross. My MIL made it ok in her Honda civic. They mention this in the description but somehow we all missed it. Our bad! Also the wireless is on the slow side. No big deal for us as we were vacationing but if you're needing a reliable connection for work from home situation, you may need to rethink. Otherwise, fantastic!!

We Travel to the Smokies every summer and this was our favorite cabin yet. Great secluded location on the lake with fabulous REAL cabin outdoor décor including a moose head and gorgeous Antler chandelier. Our kids loved the loft with tons of stuffed animals, etc. The view is incredible and can be enjoyed from the hot tub as well. The only downside is the slow wifi and cell service but that didn't bother us!

The house and views were gorgeous. We had a great time white water rafting, exploring old river road, gem mining, boating on the lake and swimming off of the dock. We are exhausted but couldn’t be happier with the house and great family experience had by all.

If you are looking to be away from everything, this is it. Quiet and relaxing. Great cabin, great views and remote. The driveway might be a challenge in the rain but it adds to the charm of the whole package. Thanks Chris!

What an amazing cabin and view. When you need to “take a break and get away”, this place is exactly what you daydream about. Our girls (ages 9 & 10) thought the loft bedroom was “the best EVER”! We all loved the home decor and the stuffed animals on the loft; made it very warm and inviting. Driveway was a bit nerve-wracking like everyone else said but you get used to it. Internet was “mountain slow”, which was fine except when both my husband and I needed to work at the same time. I would absolutely recommend this home for anyone who wants a true cozy cabin in the mountains. Thank you for providing your beautiful home!

Breathtaking views from a luxury cabin. What else could you want?

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and well stocked with everything. The view was amazing. The drive up to the cabin was a bit nerve racking for a 12 passenger van we had, but doable. A regular car would have no problem though. Great place overall.

Chris was great to deal with! Place is stunning, clean, and memorable. The view is amazing day or night! We had such a great time. Keep in mind you are remote and launch your boats prior to going to the house. Don't be like the idiots from Illinois who tried to bring them down Little Choga to the house (bad idea). You will not have cell reception and minimal texting options from the house. We absolutely loved this vacation and after this stay are seriously considering moving to NC. Time to get away from the craziness in Illinois. You will not go wrong booking Chris and Nicole's place. We all look forward to coming back for another stay!

Took the 4 kids to the mountains and had a wonderful relaxing stay! No Internet was great since our 17 year old daughter loves to text a ton:).
We even went boating, biking and out son actually caught a pretty big bass on the docks below even though we were told fishing in April was slim to none.

The house was awesome for our large group, which varied in ages from 3 to 55+. The decorations and furniture were top quality, and no detail was overlooked. The owners did a great job of providing information on things to do in the area, and our group took advantage of that by going tubing and swimming on the lake as well as zip lining, white water rafting, horseback riding, gem mining and fishing. We also had plenty of time to relax in the jacuzzi and grill dinner on the deck.
The house had all of the amenities and supplies necessary. It was clean and fully stocked when we got there, reducing the need to leave and buy more supplies (with the exception of food). The views of the lake from the deck were amazing, especially in the early morning, or evening sun. The kids enjoyed the loft tremendously which was stocked with games for them to play. The house provided plenty of space for our large group to hang together, or get some alone time if necessary. Everything was clearly labeled (including all the light switches) and instructions were available for amenities such as the fireplace and jacuzzi. the decorations fit the theme perfectly, I just don't know how the owners found so many moose themed items.
It was truely a joy to stay at the Lost Moose Lodge, and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. It was a great place for a great lake vacation.

The house is terrific! Has a spectacular view of the lake and mountains from the hot tub and rocking chairs on the upper deck off the main living area and the master bedroom. The house is well designed to also take advantage of the views from the interior of the house. All of the rooms are very well decorated with high-quality furniture and accessories. Living room/kitchen/dining area with fireplace and great view was a perfect place for our group to spend time together. And the upper loft and downstairs den also provided plenty of spaces for the individuals in our group to have some quiet time alone. The swing on the lower deck was a great place for an afternoon nap! The kitchen is well equipped and had all the cookware, dishes, serving dishes, utensils and wine glasses our group could have possibly needed! The owners did a great job of making this an enjoyable experience providing information on things to do in the area, instructions on how to operate things in the house, candles on the mantle, hearth and dining table, every detail taken care of...including the moose and bear slippers left at the foot of the bed! The pictures of the house are nice...the house is even nicer! We felt more like we were staying in a friend's home than a rental property.

Our first visit to the Great Smokey’s and we were treated to the finest! We were looking for a quite get away and we found it. Absolutely the best view in the mountains and solitude. Lost Moose Lodge is our goal for next year. The decor was perfect "Mountain Cabin" with all the extra special touches.
