About this cottage rental

Cozy Sunny Oceanfront Cottage on your own private point with 250ft of coastal frontage and unobstructed ocean views from each of the 8 windows in the living room. Experience peace and tranquility as you gaze at the golden sunset reflecting across the water. Enjoy the wonder of nature as you watch our local bald eagle, loons, Canada geese, ducks, deer, turkey and many local birds. Watch the lobsterman pull his traps, seagulls harvest their clams, and osprey dive for dinner….. or cast your own fishing pole off the rocks and fish for stripers … just steps from your front door. Nature's entertainment is constantly changing just outside your window. It’s no wonder that Maine nurtures so many artists and poets. Our beautiful surroundings are the inspiration for the poet to translate words into emotion and the artist to transform paint into a vision.
The cottage is 5 minutes from Brunswick which hosts an abundance of great restaurants, shops, cinemas, golf courses, museums, bike and walking paths, and the popular Maine Music Theatre. Smithsonian Magazine voted Brunswick as one of America’s best small towns in 2012. Maine’s largest city, historic Portland, is only 45 minutes away…..Although one would wonder why you would ever want to leave. So sit back, relax, and remember days gone by, when life was simpler and vacations were a time for rest, relaxation and renewal.

Outstanding on every count! Owner (Diane) could not have been more helpful and accommodating. House and grounds have been scrupulously maintained -- even the windows had been washed just before our arrival. Kitchen and bedrooms were well appointed and supplied with everything a visitor might need. Secluded and calendar-quality waterfront setting and scenery provided all the peace and privacy one could desire. We'll definitely be back!

Located just steps from the water, our 1-weeks stay at Sunny Cottage was perfect in every way. The cottage is charming, comfortable & the perfect size for 2 people to enjoy and relax. The cottage is located on a slightly elevated private point of land jutting out into the water with 270 degrees of unobstructed water views (from inside and outside) that constantly change with the tides and there's no shortage of wildlife including bald eagles that soar above you and visit every day taking roost in a large pine just outside the cottage door. Amazing views and the sunsets were stunning. The cottage and grounds are well maintained with careful stewardship deserving of a special place. The interior comfortable and tastefully appointed with everything you need and nothing you don't. The main living space/bedroom has ample room to move around, the kitchen just the right size for 2 people, the bathroom small but you figure it out. Harpswell is an interesting mix of narrow peninsulas and dozens of islands with some of the best scenic views in Maine and great casual places to eat. We found the cabin's location on the upper end of the peninsulas made it easy to get around, shop and travel within Harpswell and up/down the coast. Diane is a wonderful host, friendly, vastly knowledgeable about the area and history with insights and recommendations only a long time local would know, helpful when needed and respectful of your privacy. Our expectations were pleasantly exceeded.

We were thrilled by the incredible 270 degree view of the Bay visible from the room and the cottage’s proximity to the water. The location simply couldn’t be better: Private and quiet, yet ten minutes from charming downtown Brunswick and extensive food, supplies and interesting stores and restaurants. In addition, Diane was a wonderful host: friendly, thoughtful and totally respecting our privacy. Without our asking, she even changed our towels halfway through the week since it had been damp weather and always responded instantly to our requests. What more could we ask?ithisidyllicsettsettsetting? We will most certainly return.

The charm of this cottage is its location. Surrounded on three sides by water, it affords endless opportunities to decompress and watch Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herson, Egrets, Ospreys, deer and turkey, Terns diving for fish . . . A balm for the soul. Small in stature it may be, big it is BIG in charm and vistas. Diane, the owner, lives close by, and while you would never know she was there, she is always ready to help with anything that you may need or answer your questions.

“Interlude” is the name of this property and it perfectly describes this haven along the shore of Casco Bay. Upon arriving, we were met with the warm and genuine greeting of our host. It was like meeting a dear, longtime friend after time had passed. The cottage is perfect for two people. The bedroom/living room facing the bay, and the pine framed shore is spacious and well appointed as the entire cottage. The decoration of the interior is tastefully chic. The exterior can only be described as a “park like “setting maintained yard featuring lawn flowers, the ubiquitous hydrangeas various colors and trees. What quickly became our favorite was “The Point,” located steps from the cottage featuring two Adirondack chairs and side table, offering an unparalleled view of middle Cove. We saw several adult and immature, bald eagles, and Osprey’s. The ladder dive bombing for fish. The typical morning would find us out on the point in the Adirondacks, enjoying our morning, coffee. Fish, jumping, birds, calling, brilliant sunshine, reflecting off the diamond like water would round out on morning experience. Sunset, spectacular, and breathtaking for us as we watch the brilliant sun slowly below the horizon: a blaze of orange use. Tranquil and harbinger of the promise that a new day offered. Some, vacations consist of a to do list and their time is spent literally running from one event to another.we knew what we wanted to relax to recharge rest. That is what we have found at Interlude.
